When I bought the tickets I was hoping this would be a fun activity for us. I was completely surprised by the amount of fun as well as the food and the background of Chicago that was given. Everyone I spoke to was surprised at how excited I was after the trip and many asked how they could learn where to get tickets. I have a really bad knee and was concerned about walking 2 miles but it didn't seem that long as the stops were perfectly spaced and some allowed you to sit for a few minutes. The food was fantastic and well portioned. I was a little concerned about going to the Old Town Oil however, when asked at the end about your favorite place over have the group said it was Old Town Oil. I think most everyone would enjoy this tour. |

My 3 adult daughters and I really enjoyed this tour. One daughter lives in Chicago and learned of new specialty shops I'm sure she'll return to.
Our weather was perfect so it made the walk easy
Thank you,

I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide was very interesting, accomodating, and knowledgable. The area that we toured was beautiful. The shops we visited were interesting. The shop owners were very cordial. I will take this tour again when I return to Chicago. Thanks for the great memories. |

We thought the tour was great. We went to 8 different stops.
1. Ashkenaz Deli - had a delicious potato pancake
2. Tea Gschwendner - had some freshly brewed tea. Learned alot about tea. Went back to another location after the tour and used a coupon provided on the tour to get a free tea making gizmo with our purchase.
3. Spice House - Had most any fresh spice you could want. Tasted some different cinnamons.
4. Old Town Oil - very unique. Had different olive oils and vinegars.
5. Fudge Pot - had some delicious (and rich) toffee
6. Catering and Chocolate - had some yummy cheeses
7. Bacino's - my personal favorite. Had heart healthy spinach pizza. I would never order such a thing on my own but it was delicious.
8. ethyls chocolate lounge - had some chocolates to finish off the tour. A PB&J one was judged as excellent.
It was a great time overall. Our guide was excellent and she shared some good information between stops. A bit of walking but the pace was reasonable and everyone was easily able to keep up. Would recommend to anyone. |

This tour was a great, off-the-beaten path way to see some unique one of a kind shops in several different Chicago neighborhoods. Nikki (our guide) was great; very knowledgeable about the area and enthusiastic about her hometown. The food along the way was delicious and full of variety. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to get in a great walk in Chicago and see a variety of unique shops. The Old Town Oil shop was my personal favorite, the owners were well spoken and mixed up some great combinations of exotic olive oils and mouth watering flavored vinegars. |

Our guide was an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic Chicago girl with a great love of her city. She took us to neighbourhoods that we would never have found in our guide book. I wished we had had longer in Chicago after the tour then we would have had time to try some of the restaurants that were recommended along the way. I would suggest that anyone planning on booking the tour should do it on their first day in Chicago especially if they have no knowledge of the city as the tour was so informative. It stated in the tour information that most people would not need lunch after taking the tour. I found this slightly misleading as several of the tastings did not involve food as such------ we tried tea, spices, chocolate, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, not exactly a substitute for lunch! If anyone had gone without breakfast they may have been hungry. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed the tour and look forward to returning to Chicago and possibly taking another food tour on a different route. |

Nikki is a great tour guide. Even though it is 3.5 hours of walking it is well worth it. You get to see all kinds of restaurants and also you get to great sightseeing venues. (Old town, Lincoln park, Gold coast, etc.).
We are from California and we would recommend this tour in a heartbeat. This is a great way of spending 3.5 hours of your time in the great Chicago.
And by the way if you love tea, the tea shop you visit is the best!
Thanks for having this great tour.

This was by far the best tour we took while in Chicago. It delivered on all aspects: we learned about several negihborhoods and visited a cross section of family owned businesses that we would not have experienced otherwise.
I would recommend that you take the tour early in your visit so you can revisit some of the shops. The tour is a must do for folks new to the area.
One word of caution; there is a lot of walking involved and be prepared to spend the full amount of time and don't schedule anything too physical after the tour. |

The Food and Cultural Tour was fun and interesting! Our tour guide, Shane was full of interesting knowledge and tidbit's that made the tour really enjoyable. The food tasting was alot of fun- not to mention tasty.
I lived in the Gold Coast area a few years ago and still learned about places, restaurant's and store's that I was not aware of untill the tour.
My cousin, who was visiting from New Jersey accompanied me on the tour and she also liked it very much.
I would recommend the Food and Cultural Tour for something a bit different and off the beaten track. |
