Chinatown Food Tasting & Cultural Walking Tour

I've lived in chicago for 15 years and never madde the trek to chinatown. Great tour to discover chinatown and try some amazing chinese food. Will be going back to chinatown all the time for some of the best asian food I've had in the city

The food was amazing, the tour guide was entertaining and I learned a ton about a neighborhood that I previously knew nothing about ... even though I've visited several times! The tastings were huge portions, and honestly some of the best food I've had all year. We sampled everything from dim sum to crispy peking duck. I'll be back to Chinatown more often now that I know my way around. Highly recommended for locals & tourists alike.

Everything about this tour was spectacular. A thoroughly enjoyable 3 hours. Beyond a wonderful array of menu items and a fascinating education about all things Chinese cuisine, this tour wound through Chinatown and became a neighborhood historical lesson as well. Shane, the host, was super knowledgeable and didn't just give the "obvious." It was the perfect mix of fun and education, not to mention wonderful food. I certainly have a new-found appreciation for Chinatown and feel much more comfortable venturing there myself (including a hopeful stop at one of the "best-kept secrets there"). I would highly recommend this tour - top-notch quality!

The Chinatown tour was great! It was a great mix of food, culture, and great company. I'll admit we had a bit of a unique expierience since we were the only couple on the tour. Since there were two guides, it was a lot like being on a date with another couple so it made it a lot of fun. The walking really helped the full feeling since there was plenty of food to go around. We can't wait to get back to Chicago to try the other tours they offer!

A glimpse of China is provided in this slightly over 3 hour tour. Culture is intertwined with the food samplings from the various regions of China. Go early or stay later and explore the shops that you pass by along the way to the food stops. The food was great especially if you like Chinese food and if you're not too sure just keep an open mind and dive in! Hillary was an excellent guide and pointed out a lot about the history and architecture of the area. Our group had a great time!

Shane was very well versed in the Chinese culture. There were facts about Buddhism, architecture and medicinal practices. The restaurants were all wonderful and varied. I enjoyed all the "food regions" except the Szechuan because it was too spicy for me but everyone else in the group loved it!!

This tour offered excellent samples of regional foods of China. I have taken the other two Chicago Food Planet tours, Bucktown/Wicker Park, and Near North. This tour was more about Chinese history and culture without a lot about architecture of the area. Our guide, Shane, was very knowledgeable and fun. For a new tour, it ran smoothly. There was plenty of food, and it was delicious!

We had a wonderful time tasting and learning about the foods in Chinatown. Shane was full of information and interesting details. The food was delicous.

It was a very fun and informative tour. I am glad we took the food tour, I learned quite a bit about Chinese food and culture. I highly recommend the China Town tour. We met a couple who attended the Near North Restaurant tour and they liked it a lot also. So next tour we take will probably be that one.
