Great Experience for Chicago Visitor

| This was a very worthwhile experience. The amount of walking was reasonable, unexpected information about the city and the neighborhoods was well received, and the guide was very enthusiatic and capable. My one criticism, and not a major one, is that the promotion of the sights visited needs to be toned down. The tour itself promotes the locations visited, and talking about coming back to patronize the merchants is unnecessary and distracting. | ||||||

| Loved our guide, Jennifer, who was both informative and entertaining. I had always heard about what a great food town that Chicago was, but would not have really known if we had not taken this tour! The variety of shops and restaurants was excellent and the tour of local neighborhoods on foot gave us a unique perspective. Looking forward to our next visit and another area. | ||||||

| First, we couldn't have gotten a better guide, Shane. He was very informative and had the right sense for humor. He is a keeper. Second, the tour was fantastic. My wife and I learned thing about tea, spices and oils that we never knew. My wife was thrilled with the garlic olive oil, will be ordering via the web. The other aspect of the tour was totally unexpected. The neighorhoods we walked through were absolutely wonderful. The architecture was interesting and the neighorhoods looked like the kind of place that we would like to live in. Between the food and homes you get to see a side of Chicago that is impossible to experience by any other means. | ||||||

Better Ways to Spend Three Hours

| Tour was OK, but nothing that different or interesting about the food. Better, more exciting examples of "Chicago Food" can easily be found by anyone with1/2 a brain. And, the area is not all that interesting to walk, as opposed to other parts of the city. Our guide was a great guy, trying hard to be enthusiastic... but there's not a lot one can do with what he was working with. Our group seemed to be made up almost entirely of people who have traveled extensively and are "foodies". So the most exciting thing we experienced was ice cream made instantly. Maybe the North Side food tour is better. We were not tempted to find out! | ||||||

| My husband, daughter-in-law and I enjoyed the tour immensely. The food stops were tasty and interesting but the cultural and architectural aspects included made the tour. We loved walking through the neighborhoods. We didn't even notice we walked 2 1/2 miles. Even though she lived in Lincoln Park a few years, our daughter-in-law found areas she hadn't previously discovered. Our group size was good and our guide, Jennifer, was wonderfully informative and fun. Rest stops were not a problem and the food tastings were sufficient for lunch. We'll definitely schedule another tour on a future visit to Chicago. p.s. We wouldn't recommend the tour for young children. We were originally scheduled to bring our 5 1/2 year old granddaughter with us and the tour would not have been interesting for her. | ||||||

| I recommended it to my boss. I loved learning different things about the city. I will certainly re-vist the tea shop, the oil shop & the spice shop. | ||||||

| Our tour guide was terrific...knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We thought the food would just be a tasting, but it was lunch and more. The food was excellent. In addition, we all enjoyed the tour of the neighborhood. We would all highly recommend it. | ||||||

| My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour!! It exceeded our expectations and our guide, Jennifer, could not have been more entertaining nor more professional. Other than the catering business, each stop provided us with fascinating information and taste treats. We enjoyed walking through the three neighborhoods and would recommend this to anyone. Our group was very mixed---ages, foreign/domestic travelers---and it appeared everyone was enthralled. Thank you for the terrific time! JBE/San Francisco | ||||||

| Jesse was so enthusiastic . . right from the start we knew we'd have a great time. What a great idea! One thought, though, is perhaps have the last stop going back towards the beginning of the tour. Food was great! Stops were a pleasant surprise. Spent more than I thought I would on vinegar and oil!! Thank you . . .will definitely try the Buck Town tour. | ||||||

| My wife and I have visited Chicago many times in the past 30 years but this was fun and interesting. A small group with a great guide (Jenn) who made the long walk interesting and worth our time. She worked hard to please and accomodate. I never would have stopped in these shops on my own. We went back and bought at 3 of the places we visited on our way back to the start. | ||||||

| We didn't know what to expect and hoped that we would find something of interest on this tour. From the moment Jennifer introduced herself, I knew this would be a fun event. We learned so much about Chicago and the foods and stores that we visited. Jennifer was truly outstanding! | ||||||

| We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. You chose excellent places to visit. We thought ALL of the food was tasty. We especially enjoyed visiting Hot Chocolate. We thought the walking tour to homes was too long. We appreciated the list of other restaurants in the area and plan to go back to Hot Chocolate for sure and others also. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable! It was very interesting to learn about Wicker Park and Bucktown. Thank you. | ||||||

| Did the Bucktown tour a few weeks earlier....... Both tours were good, and felt the Bucktown was the best of the two. Both guides excellent, but there was more food on the Bucktown. | ||||||

| My group thoroughly enjoyed our day with Kent as we walked and ate our way through Bucktown and Wicker Park. Our guide was enthusiastic and very well informed about the restaurants, background of the area, architecture, etc. The food was delicious and plentiful - a very nice variety of tastes. We definitely felt we got our money's worth! | ||||||
