| I really enjoyed getting to know different parts of Chicago. I have lived in the suburbs for 2 years on an International transfer and am heading back to my homeland shortly. The tour was a great way to see things I wouldn't ordinarily pass. I went with a group of friends all long time tourists and we enjoyed the ambience of the area and the knowledge of the tour guide. The heavier tastings are toward the end of the tour which is a bit unbalanced but if you can hold out you will be rewarded. The tour ends quite some distance from the starting point so be aware it can be a long walk back. Pleasant day - enjoyed by all ,despite some rain. | ||||||

| I grew up in Chicago and was unaware of some of the history and architecture. I really enjoyed going to eateries and shops that I did not know existed. Whether you are a visitor or a local, you will enjoy the experience. The guide, Jennifer was amazing and the rain did not affect the tour. | ||||||

| I loved this tour, which I found by googling "balsamic vinegar stores Chicago". The highlights included the unexpected architectural information and the great presentations by the owners/employees in the shops (especially the Fudge Pot.) I was glad that previous reviewers had warned me that the substantial food (pizza) comes at the very end of the tour. I am a big and regular eater, so I had a light lunch before the tour to hold me over, and I was very glad that I had. I returned to both the spice shop and Ethyl's shop for purchases, and can't wait to visit again (totally forgot to use my coupons though!) I also appreciated the supplementary list of restaurants in the Near North and Kate's personal recommendations. I have held onto all the information and will definitely use it when we return to Chicago next April. | ||||||

| I brought my friends on this tour because my daughter did it last year with a group who were food scientists and members of the Institute of Food Technologists. Being natives of the Chicago area, I couldn't believe how much I didn't know about the near north neighborhood. Emily, our guide, was delightful, extremely well informed, and a deligh! She never hurried us, answered all our questions, and made our day in the city not only enjoyable but educational. Give her a raise!!!!! Thank you Emily! How about a new type of tour that includes ethnic establishments? Just a thought. | ||||||

| A very informative and fun tour. It was a lot of walking, and took several hours. The stops that actually had "food" were the best. I would suggest having something like bread with oil and vinegar to try at the oil shop, and possibly a dip made with fresh herbs at the spice shop. Great tour! | ||||||

| Just returned from Chicago and walking tour. We had an absolutely beautiful day to walk. Nikki was our guide and she was great and very enthusiastic. We had potatoe pancakes, a cup of tea, sampled cinammon, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, chocolate toffee, had a big slice of pizza and ended up at a chocolate lounge. We were also introduced to the original Playboy Mansion and some very interesting architecture and saw some beautiful homes. Also went through Oz Park. I thought the samples were more than generous we sometimes had seconds and thirds at the candy store. To pick one favorite is hard, I can't so tie between spices and olive oil, but really every place we went was great. I would go on their other tour they are offering in a minute. | ||||||

| This was a fantastic walking tour...we discovered some amazing neighborhoods and tasted some great food! The tour alone was worth the price, and I love that we didn't just try food - we also learned about teas, oils, and spices. Highly recommended. | ||||||

| Well, I had read about your tour on Tripadvisor which I use a great deal as a travel tool and you were listed as the number one thing to do in Chicago. Well, we weren't disappointed. Nikki was our guide. She was wonderful. I loved the selection of places included - a deli, a tea shop, a chocolate shop, the oil and vinegar store and the spice store and of course deep-dish Chicago pizza. Just enough and not too much. We went back to several of the shops to purchase our favorite things after the tour. We also enjoyed the historical aspect of the walk, from the original Playboy mansion to Oz Park. What fun!!! Thank you for a wonderful time. | ||||||

| We all enjoyed this walking tour so much. It was a great walk with interesting stops along the way. We enjoyed Old Town Oil so much -it was a surprise to all of us. Also The Spice House. We would have never stopped at either of these places on our own but they were Oh so interesting. Of course all the Chocolate was ummmm. We would highly recommend this tour. Our guide was great-very knowledgeable about all areas we walked through... A good time was had by all. | ||||||

| The food tasting activity was a great way to see local neighborhoods and taste the unique wares in each area. I felt the emphasis a little heavy on the sweet side( I don't like chocolate) and was feeling quite full at the end of the tour when we had a large piece of pizza. I would have prefferd this near the middle of the tour and then had a chance to walk it off. Otherwise the architectural and history part of the tour was good. I discovered some different products such as the balsamic vinegar and oil store and the herb and spice store. Both excellent. It was a very pleasant way to spend a mid-day. Time to get to the tour and time afterwards to return to favourite spots. The tour quide was great and a local Chicago girl. She handled the time allotments well and keep the group together. Well done. | ||||||

| I would definitely recommend this tour to ANYONE going to Chicago, whether for the first time or the 10th. It was such a great way to really see the city, not just the tourist sites, and learn about the different neighborhoods. Our tour leader was great, and we loved all of the different stops along the way. I definitely want to sign up for the Wicker Park tour next time I'm in Chicago. | ||||||

| I was impressed with all aspects of the tour: the host/tour leader, the places that we explored, the educational aspects, the fun stops, and the weather was also great that day! The leader knew her food, information about Chicago, and she had the charisma and energy need for a great tour leader. I am from Chicago, but there were many things I learned that not all natives might not know. The group was smaller and very friendly so that helped as far as individual attention. I feel enriched as a result of the tour, and I would highly recommend it ! You won't be disappointed and it truly was a culinary adventure! | ||||||

| We loved our first visit to Chicago, the people, the sites, the shopping...BUT the best part of our short three day trip was the walking tour!!! Jennifer was fantastic, very informative and energetic!! We loved seeing a side of Chicago that we would have otherwise missed! I would highly highly recommend this to anyone...we had everyone from Chicago natives who had never taken the time to visit these local gems...to tourists like ourselves from out of country, in our group, and everyone had a great time! Thanks again Jennifer you were great! | ||||||

| This tours takes you through a lovely neighborhood with stops at a variety of excellent shops. Our guide, Emily, was friendly, well-informed and delightful! The "butter toffee" was a favorite of many in the group and the stuffed pizza was a delicious lunch. Would even consider doing this tour again on my next visit to Chicago. | ||||||
