Overall, great job! |

It's a very good tour to get a better picture of Chicago's neighbourhoods. The guide was very enthousiastic. The tastings were good, interesting and (for European standards) it was a lot of food. Our only suggestion would be to end with coffee/espresso instead of chocolate (as an advice: don't eat too much chocolate at the fudge shop! It tastes great!). |

I was expecting more tastings from different restaurants. Although, I liked the tour, but it is more for people who likes to cook, not exactly for people to like going out to eat. |

As new visitors to Chicago, this was a chance to see something outside of the loop and water-tower square. Each establishment was welcoming and helped us to understand what they do. My wife and I learned many new things and will have great memories, pictures and video from the tour. Thanks |

We just returned home from this tour and really enjoyed it. Kent our tour guide really knows his stuff, both the area and the food/restaurants he takes us to. I agree with a few of the other customer reviews, some places aren't quite as interesting, but that's only my opinion. Catering/chocolate had great cheese, but nothing crash hot especially looking at the array they have available. Standout favorites are the spice shop & oil/vinegar shop, both of which we plan to go back to buy things. Highly recommended. |

As I was only in Chicago for the weekwnd and it was my first visit to Chicago, I wanted to get a good feel for the city. I spent the Saturday at Millenium Park, the Art Institute and shopping on State Street (only window shopping on Michigan Avenue!). For th Sunday I wanted to do a tour but something that would get me into the heart of Chicago rather than just 'sights'. This tour just fit the bill. Many thanks. |

My wife and I were visiting from Canada and it was the highlight of our trip! We learned so much great information and saw such beautiful buildings and houses along the way, including the old playboy mansion. The trendy little shops were just great and the food too! I would recommend however to wear very comfortable shoes and to watch for uneven pavement in spots as one lady fell. People of all ages seemed to enjoy the tour as well and for people who wish to know about the best places to eat and visit or anything else you might want to know about Chicago, this is a great way to find out! Have fun! |

Good, but probably not for "foodies"

While a couple of the stops were very interesting, about half of them disappointed in one way or another.
The Jewish deli was nothing more than a place to meet and have a pretty average latke.
The cheese stop, Catering & Chocolate, was a couple pieces of tame cheese without any real discussion of them.
The first chocolate shop, the Fudge Stop, may make some interesting confections, but their chocolate is sub-par.
The tea shop, the oil shop, spice store, and the pizza were all worthwhile, though, and the guide was very friendly and professional. The three hours went by quickly.
Overall, this is a fine tour and enjoyable for people who don't consider themselves real "foodies". If you're looking for off-the-beaten-track flavours and experiences, it's probably best to look elsewhere, but if you're looking for a pleasant introduction to a few Chicago neighbourhoods, this provides good value for the money. |

We were a little hesitant at paying the $40 at first, but our daughter insisted, and we are so glad we took the tour. Our guide, Emily, was very nice and full of interesting information, and we thoroughly enjoyed all the places we visited (my personal favourites were the olive oil & spice shops, as well as the pizza restaurant, but we really enjoyed them all!), and the walk through the different neighbourhoods. We recommend this tour to everyone visiting Chicago, and we look forward to going back and hope that Food Planet will, by then, have some different tours that we can take. Good job! |

This was my 4th or 5th visit to Chicago and I when I came the first time I went on a bus tour and lasted an hour and a half as it was such a nice summer day. So when I read about this walking tour I thought I would do something different than I usually do when I come to Chicago.
I enjoyed the shops that they took us to and it was great going to the different neighbourhoods of Chicago.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable.
I would recommend it to anyone I know who would be coming to Chicago. |
