A tour for everyone.

Our guide (Nikki) a woman around forty was excellent and full of a lot of interesting things to tell us. She paced the tour so that no one was left out. She obviously had a good relationship with the shop keepers we visited. Your add was right about it taking care of lunch for the day. All in all a well spent two hours.

good way to become familiar with Chicago

The Chicago Food Planet tour was great. We saw the skyscraper part of the city on the Historical boat tour, but this showed us the residential, day-to-day Chicago we would not have experienced. The cultural aspect of the neighborhoods, foods, and people was well received. The establishments that we visited were all local and colorful. We'd definately recommend this to others, and will return to purchase singularly special Chicago foodie treats!

This was a great tour!

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago - it blends a great mix of foods with history and cultural information about the city. However, I think the people who would like it most would be people who are foodies - and I mean that in the very best way.

Good for Teens!

We took this tour with my 13 year old daughter and 15 year old nephew. We all enjoyed it, but I think my daughter enjoyed it as much as anyone. The chocolate and pizza were amazing. In fact I think I will crave that pizza until I go back to Chicago. The oil tasting was exceptional. I only wish they would have had plastic bottlles or some way for us to transport back home. Surprisingly when we asked what was everyone's favorite, my daughter replied the spice tasting. They have a really cool backyard area, where we learned about cinnamon and she loved sprinkling different spices into her hand to try. My only complaint would be that we were not allowed to shop while we were there. I understand that it would make the tour last too long but we didn't have time to get back to the early shops in the tour before we had to fly home and that was disappointing.

This was a great tour. My husband and I have been to Chicago many times, but he states "This is the best thing to do in Chicago." Our nephew was with us and actually tried new things - and more importanlty like them. Kate is a wonderful tour guide!

Unique and Informational view of Chicago

This tour is a great way for locals and tourists to learn more about the neighborhoods that make Chicago unique. It's a nice detour from all the traditional touristy activities that are popular in downtown Chicago. Whether you're a tourist who wants to see how Chicagoans really live or a local who is curious about the places you see everyday, this tour is a great way to learn about Chicago culture and history and to experience some great food. The guides are friendly and enthusiastic and the whole experience is a great value for the money. I brought 4 family members with me and we all had a great time.

Kate our guide was very good, other then the places and their food, knew alot bout the history of Chicago and its architecture. She'll try and get to know you during the walk and see what you think of Chicago, and very helpful on questions. Food was great and enough for the afternoon, if ur the hungry type probably get a bite to eat and bring some water. We had a perfect day for it when we went so it was excellent overall. Ive recommended it to my friends

Our guide Jennifer was a great ambassador

Jennifer is a great asset to your company. The tour was the best part of our trip and our teenagers even agree. We went back to two of the stores and had to pack creatively to get our "finds" home safely.

Best walking tour I've ever taken
Sun, Aug 3, 08   11:30 AM jrosas2169 Male 40-49 Combination Family Without Children
This is a great way to see parts of the city that are off the beaten path. Jennifer, our guide, was very well versed on historical and actual facts of the neighborhoods we were walking through. But the best part is getting into the small shops and tasting their food while getting a lesson on how and why certain things are done. We learned about tea, olive oil, chocolate and stuffed pizza....amongst others. it was great information on top of being extremely entertaining and savory. We will take another of their tours next time we're in Chicago. We highly recommend this tour.

I was with a group of 4....some foodies some not. Emily was a knowledgeable guide and kept us moving at a comfortable pace. The stops on the way were places I probably would not have entered on my own; tea, spices and oils to name a few. But those are the ones we returned to and made additional purchases. The pizza was great; but I felt a bit rushed since the piece of pizza was so big! And two chocolate shops. How can you go wrong with that! Take the walk, it was fun and informative.

A great family activity!

It is sometimes difficult to find activities for families with college-aged children to do together. This certainly fit the bill. It had just the right amount of walking, talking, and eating. Kate, our guide, was terrific - it was hard to believe she had only been giving tours four 4 months!

Great walk through Chicago, along with tasty food
Sat, Aug 2, 08   12:00 PM cthomso3 Male 20-29 International Tourist(s) Individual
I went on this tour on a beautiful Saturday in the first weekend of August. It really was a great combination of a peaceful walk through some interesting and unique Chicago neighborhoods, tasty food stops, and a wealth of information. The tour guide, Jennifer, was outstanding. She did a fantastic job of keeping the group moving, but we were never the slightest bit rushed. We had a lot of time at each stop to take in and enjoy our surroundings, and she had so much knowledge of the areas and places we stopped at. The food itself was very good, with a large variety of tastes experienced through the tour. All in all, I couldn't have been happier with this tour.

We had a great time. We saw a part of Chicago which we have driven through but not looked at closely. We were introduced to restaurant/stores which we would not otherwise have gone to. We will definitely return to some of the places we stopped at. It was an out of the ordinary experience. We would do it again and have already suggested it to others.

Girlfriend weekend get-away was a treat!
Sat, Aug 2, 08   11:00 AM sharonehrhar Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
The walking architecture and food tour was the perfect thing to do. The weather was perfect and our guide, Nikki, did a fabulous job of informing us about Chicago history and foods. Getting into the neighborhoods and away from the hustle and bustle of the city and walking at a leisurely pace with lots of shade trees was simply ideal. There was plenty of food to sample and our small group of 15 was able to stay together and we were always able to hear what was said by our guide. I would recommend this tour to anyone that would like to do something just a little bit different. We even had some local people in our group who also added insight into some of the neighborhoods and homes. Very fun!!!

We have been on the neighborhood food tours & enjoy them so we thought we'd give this a try with company from out of town, since the other's book up so far in advance. They were so impressed. We really enjoyed walking the neighborhoods and getting the insights from the tour guide. We are very much looking forward to the bucktown tour that she mentioned will be starting up. Our guests from out of town have already recommended the tour to some of their friends.
