A fun and tasty adventure!

Although my family and I have been to Chinatown many times, this tour provided a deeper appreciation and exposure to the food and culture of this vibrant neightborhood we would never have been able to access on our own. The tour was most definitely worth the price.

We had a lot of fun, but the walk between the second last stop and the last stop was about 25 minutes, a little too long. We actually decided not to partake in the last stop.

Our fabulous tour guide, Hillary, introduced us to the Near North neighborhoods, their architecture and numerous ethnic and specialty shops that we would never had come across on our own.

Enjoyable afternoon in the city...

It's just a lot of fun to tour neighborhoods in Chicago, especially vibrant neighborhoods such as the Bucktown/Wicker Park area. There are so many sights, sounds, smells, tastes, etc., to experience. Lisa was a wonderful tour guide, with firsthand knowledge of the area, since she lives there herself! This was our second outing with Chicago Food Planet -- last year we did the Near North Tour, which I would highly recommend, as well. You learn a lot about the history and architecture of each neighborhood, as well as get a chance to sample unique food items and learn about the entrepreneurs behind them. I look forward to visiting more interesting neighborhoods in the future, as Chicago Food Planet grows and expands.

Excellent guide and most enjoyable tour!

Four friends and I took the Near North Food Tasting & Cultural Walking tour today. Our guide, Jess, was excellent! She had a very thorough knowledge of the local architecture and history. We stopped at seven places and were able to try delicious items at each stop. We were full at the end of the tour! We couldn't come up with any suggestions for improvement. I highly recommend this tour.

Very good, but could be better

Historical information was interesting. Beautiful walking tour. Disappointed in the type of food offerings, especially the spice store and oil/vinegar store. I went on a SOHO tour in New York and the food was FABULOUS and plentiful. However on this tour the mid portion of the tour including including above mentioned were not much. Not even a simple bread to taste test oil and vinegar mixes. We were asked to just "chug" a small cup full. Ugh! We were served iced tea in the tea store. Not a fan, but learned a little bit. Chocolate store product was great, but didn't learn much. It would be nice if we could have seen something being produced. Still a good experience at a very reasonable price.

A highlight in our time in Chicago!

Our guide was delightful as she skillfully educated us as we walked the charming streets of this Chicago neighborhood. The food tastings were amazing at each stop on the tour. The most pleasant surprise was the olive oil store, which I had not expected to be so interesting or tasty. The diversity presented in the tastings made it a sure fit for everyone. The walking pace accommodated all parties in our group. What a great way to meet other visitors to the city! The atmosphere was casual and friendly throughout the tour. I would highly recommend this activity. In fact, I'll do it again next time I'm in town.

We had a wonderful afternoon walking around this eclectic city neighborhood. The food was great and we learned a lot about the area. Our guide was friendly and informative. I would highly recommend this tour if you are entertaining friends from out of town.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to go because I woke up with the flu! Don't suppose you would let me come another day since I didn't get to use my reservation? My friends who got to go said it was awesome!! Thanks for your consideration for a make up day! Sincerely, Kathryn Petersdorf

It was the highlight of our trip!

This was my 5th trip to Chicago... Each visit I like to explore different neighborhoods... Most importantly for the cultural experience as well as eating and shopping. The food tour not only provided us with a full belly, it also provided us with history --- from how the neighborhoods started to what Chicagoan foodies enjoy the most. All-in-all the Wicker Park/Bucktown food tour was amazing!

Knowledgeable guide and fantastic food

Fantastic opportunity to get an insiders view of an area of the city most people don't visit. The guide was extremeley knowledgeable about the area and the cuisine and the tour allowed us to try a variety of places that we would not have known about otherwise. This is the 2nd food tour we have taken from this company and we can't wait to schedule the third. They do an excellent job balancing the walking with the eating and I highly recommend them.
