| We had a great time! Weather was beautiful and 16 of us walked through the Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods stopping at six places for wonderful foods. I've lived in the Chicago area for all my life and never knew there was a foodie walking tour. Went to a similar tour in NYC (Greenwich Village/Soho) and experienced a wonderful time. Thing is, we only went to one establishment where we actually sat and ate the food...most of the time, we ate our small offerings outside and listened to our tourguide. However, in Chicago, we actually sat in a pre-determined area at every restaurant which I thought was much nicer, eating a typical Chicago style hotdog; had iced "hot chocolate" drink with a homemade marshmellow at Hot Chocolate; a slice of pizza with a small tasting portion of beer (also good); a fantastic falafel with the best hummus I've ever tasted; a small pasta cup from Goddess Grocer (was okay, but loved to have a deli like this closer to the NW suburbs!) and finally, my absolute favorite: iCream where we all had a small cup of icecream whipped up from nitrogen! All in all, we had a fantastic time and our tour guide, Jess(?) was fantastic! By the way, we were stuffed! Had to bag the last sandwich (falafel) for a late supper...couldn't eat anymore despite walking for nearly 3 hours. Will do it again! | ||||||

| Nine women took the tour. We are native Chicagoans and learned a lot of new things about our City. Our guide was very interesting and friendly. We toured seven very different shops throughout three or four different neighborhoods. We all enjoyed the tour so much that we told the doorman at our hotel to recommend it to tourists. Because we are from Chicago we are planning to revisit several shops. We would give the tour six stars if we could! Definitely recommend it for tourists and native Chicagoans alike. | ||||||

| Our guide, Caroline (I think that was her name--sorry!), was very friendly and enthusiastic. I have a few dietary restrictions and she discreetly catered to them when possible. I thought that all of the stops were very informative--especially the tea and spice stops. One suggestion would be to stop somewhere else besides Catering and Chocolate. No one from the shop spoke to us about the shop or business and while everything there looked nice, it didn't really add anything to the tour because there wasn't any personal connection like in all of the other shops. Perhaps stop at the bakery going in next door instead? Also, as a native, I Iearned a thing or two about some Chicago history (like, I finally know where the Playboy mansion was, the origin of the Second City moniker). I would recommend this tour to locals and tourists alike. | ||||||

| We were a part of the Sept. 19 11:30a.m. tour with Jessie as our guide. We could not have asked for a nicer, more informed, personable guide. Very articulate and knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her subject. All four in our group are lifelong Chicago-area residents and we learned a lot! A couple of suggestions. There should be more food offered on the tour. While eating a substantial amount at every stop wouldn't be feasible or recommended, perhaps one of the stops in the middle of the tour could offer a bit more. Also, I think the group would have enjoyed receiving a "Food Planet" chocolate bar at the Fudge Pot stop. Our group was under the impression that that was why our guide made a point of showing us the Food Planet mold. One last thing, any chance a taste of liquor could be included? I don't think a taste of beer or wine would do any harm. Finally, please choose a different pizza as an example of Chicago pizza! We were very disappointed with Bacino's. I'd hate to think that visitors to Chicago would go away thinking Bacino's was representative of good Chicago pizza. Overall, we had a great time. I would definitely recommend this activity to others. Thank you. | ||||||

| For someone who just moved to chicago, our guide was enthusiastic and displayed his love for food and Chicago. Though we had already been to Hot chocolate previously, the other food places were great to learn about and dine in. Definitely would recommend this tour and will sign up for the other one as well | ||||||

| There were 7 of us and 6 of us enjoyed it and 1 of us was not pleased with anything that we did. The stores and lectures were interesting and we really enjoyed the varity of the types of stores we visited. We thought we should have been offered bread at the oil shop so we could really get a taste of the oil and that we could have done some shopping at the stores we visited. I am sure the walking was a lot longer than the literature stated, we thought that the Lincoln Park part of the tour should be a tour by itself ,because it was so interesting but we had to hurry through it. I am not sure the tourist understood that they were in 3 different neighborhoods. Our guide Jennifer was great and really knew a lot about each neighborhood and could answer question that were asked. We also thought you could fine a nice pizza place in the Old Town area and make the tour for the Gold Coast and Old Town by itself. Most of us loved the tour and have given the info to many people, thanks for the informative and treats of the Windy City and State Street that great street tour. | ||||||

| I thought this was a great activity. I don't live too far from Chicago and the restaurants change so often, this was a great way to explore them while also learning more about the history of the Chicago villages. | ||||||

| My family and I had a great time, 3 of us were born and raised in chicago but during that time you would not go into the wicker part area Seeing all of the changes and having a tour was a lot of fun Kent is a great tour guide who knows how to make everyone feel welcome and is very knowledgeable of the area. The food was also enjyoable and we all left very full. | ||||||

| I've lived in the Chicago northwest suburbs for eleven years. I've brought tourists to the city at least twice a year but have never gone on this unique tour until last September. Had it not been for my sleepless nights with my newborn baby, I wouldn't have found it featured on the late night show "190 North". I couldn't have picked a better tour for my foodie mother who came all the way from Asia. It was a food tour, architectural tour, and a neighborhood tour all rolled into one. We particularly enjoyed the spice & herb specialty shop and the oil and vinegar store. I only wish they had allowed the group to shop for at least five minutes on each stop. It was really inconvenient to go back, plus we were a bit poofed after walking for three hours. I'm already planning to go to the Bucktown tour with my husband next year. | ||||||

| Good historical and present look at these areas. Guide pointed out hot spots and we sampled the local cuisine. Great if you are looking to return to the area for some food and night life at a later date. | ||||||

| I hoped this would be fun for 4 natives who want to always learn more about the city - and try new restaurants. Jessie was animated and delightful. She shepherded 16 of us about with agility. The restaurant/shop tastings were enlightening with the groups clear favorites being the spice shop and olive oil/vinegar shop in Old Town - not places we would just wander into on our own. It was "light" on architecture but some good, fun stories. The 3 hours whizzed by. Only thing I would change is the last stop was a hike away when there is so much good pizza downtown. | ||||||

| It was a beautiful Fall Saturday afternoon when a friend and I went on this tour. Our guide, ( I think his name was Brad), did an excellent job describing the history of the neighborhoods and telling us interesting facts about the restaurants. This is something you really do not want to miss! It would be nice if the restaurants changed every year so that you could experience other hidden places in these neighborhoods. I also went on the Lincoln Park tour and found it to be just as wonderful. | ||||||

| Based on the reaction of our group of 6 (4 from Chicago and 2 from California) everyone was very positive about the experience. Not only did the guide, Arianna, know her stuff, but she was personable, interesting and thoughtful throughout. Seeing the Near North and hearing about the architecture added to the wonderful experience of stopping in the various specialty shops and hearing firsthand what the shopkeepers had to share about their products. We would ALL highly recommend this tour. Arianna has the 11:30 time on Saturday. | ||||||
