I would highly recommend this tour & try to do it before your last day so you have time to come back & shop & eat at the wonderful locations!.. Bravo!!! | ||||||

| Excellent walking tour, with nice neighborhood info from our guide, Nikki. She was very personable, fun, energetic, you could tell she enjoys her job. The places we went were interesting and eclectic. My husband and I visit Chicago all the time but did not know of these places and it was nice to have our eyes opened to new parts of the city and the stores and restaraunts. Highly recommend and would do it again. | ||||||

| We did a small group company outing and all really enjoyed the tour! We were able to go to places we had never been despite the fact that all of us were from Chicago. The tour guide was excellent and we would consider doing this again! Thanks! | ||||||

| Kate was so knowledgeable, not only about the food, but about the stores' and the area's history. She kept us moving, but we never felt rushed. Eat before you go, because the only real "food" is the pizza at the end. But, it is a huge and delicious piece! | ||||||

| I thought the duration was a bit short compared to the 90 minute advertised trips by CAF (even then, the tour started at 11:05 and ended at 11:55... lost 10 minutes!), but it was an okay amount of time for my wife who wasn't an architecture buff. For a 60 minute tour, the detail was appropriate and entertaining. Would have preferred that it was more interactive and less scripted though. A couple of times I felt like the tour guide could have gone into a little more detail about the back-story for some of the sites. Otherwise, a very good and entertaining tour. | ||||||

| We are 5 women who grew up in Chicago and never saw some of the things that we saw on this tour. It was very interesting. Our leader (Jennifer) was very well informed and seemed to be having as much fun as we did. The tastings were great and introduced us to some new things. We are looking forward to other tours that you might be offering in the future. Keep up the good work. | ||||||

Kent made our tour great

| Our guide was Kent, and he was wonderful. He engaged each of the individuals on different parts of the tour as well as kept the group entertained, as a whole. Some of the food places weren't incredibly interesting to me (ex. The Spice House, a tea place), but others were very worth it. Kent gave us a lot of historical and cultural information about the areas we were walking through, which weren't areas we would have even visited had it not been for the tour, so we learned a lot. Be Prepared To Walk! It's about 2.5 miles, and it's a lot of walking and stopping, so it seems longer than that. (Our group took about 3.5 hours! I noticed the group who left ahead ahead of our group seemed to have lost some of its "portly-er" guests when they walked by us near the end; I'm guessing these people grabbed a taxi when they got tired.) Also, it's not a lot of food until the end. So don't go hungry! By the end—even starting on a full stomach—you'll still be ready for a slice of heavenly pizza. Enjoy! | ||||||

| This food tour took us out of the downtown hustle and bustle and into the quaint neighborhoods of Chicago that you normally wouldn't know how to access or where to go. I absolutely loved that we went to local shops and restaurants and experienced the 'non-commercial' part of Chicago. Everyone was so nice at the shops and the guide was terriffic! After the tour, we went back to many of the shops and made purchases. It was quite a trek, but would definitely do it again! What a grand concept and everyone benefits! | ||||||

| The food tour was very informative not only about the food we tasted, but also about the architecture and little known facts about Chicago. It was a most enjoyable afternoon. One note, though, if you have a van, SUV, or CRV and park in the lot next to the deli, you will be charged $5 extra. So instead of paying $12, you will pay $17. This is the in before 10 and out before 7 timeframe. This should be noted in the information given for the tours. | ||||||

| The food tour is well worth it. It's a leisurely paced walking tour with a guide that takes you through the Gold Coast, Old Town, and the Lincoln Park neighborhood. After stopping at some unusual shops, you end up with deep dish pizza and chocolate. The Spice Market and Oil store are highlights. | ||||||

| The teen group I took on this tour really enjoyed it! They are representatives from a teen board who present food clinics and workshops to younger children in southwestern Ohio as part of 4H. They will have plenty of great info to use in future workshops. The reviews we read prior stated there was too much chocolate included on the tour. Their response to that was "there is no such thing as too much chocolate!" Actually only 2 of the 8 stops dealt with chocolate and both were very different experiences. The only suggestion I might make is to have something available at the spice shop to eat (maybe something with the cinnamon on it, perhaps from an establishment in Chicago that uses the spices from The Spice House). I will certainly recommend this trip to other Family and Consumer Science teachers as they plan trips to Chicago. Maybe advertise to 4H groups involved in food programs and on talk radio in local markets. I would think someone like Marilyn Harris would really enjoy the tour and mention it on her radio show. A lot of great info and food was included in a short time. Thanks for the experience! | ||||||
