| My friends and I had a wonderful time with our charming and well-informed guide. We chewed and sniffed and tasted and munched and swallowed--through the best Reuben I've ever had, followed by a most welcome glass of special iced tea, then chocolate, then a lesson on different kinds of cinnamon (you didn't know there were any, did you?) in the most fragrant of settings, followed by tastings of balsamic vinegar and flavored olive oils that were good enough to chug, a bit of WI cheese and fresh hummus--and ending with Chicago-style stuffed pizza. Wow. In between we learned about clever and outrageous real-estate deals, historical architecture, and area history. Try it--you'll like it! | ||||||

| Very enjoyable. Great food tastings (almost too much food in the short space of time!). Leader Kent was very knowledgeable about the area. It was a good opportunity to see a part of Chicago I would otherwise have not explored in the short time I was there. | ||||||

| This was a great tour. Loved the food venues chosen, the walking tour of the neighborhood was great seeing the changes that have taken place. Our tour guide did a super job - was very informative, nice persoanlity, and kept everybody on track. Went on both tours of Food Planet and would love to go on more in the different neihborhoods around the City. Hope you can come up with more for next year. Keep up the great work! | ||||||

| I loved the info on the neighborhood and its history. I liked learning about the "famous" chefs we have (I live in Bucktown). Food was great although a little too much for me. I should have eaten half the hot dog! A little shopping mixed into the tour would be nice too but overall, it was terrific and I'd recommend it to others. | ||||||

| I attended the Near North Food Tour with a 5 member work group. Another group in our department had previously taken the tour and were very impressed. I've lived in Chicago most of my life and thought that I knew a lot about the various neighborhoods we visited but, I was wrong. Our tour guide, Jennifer was fun, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable about Chicago history and architecture. We enjoyed every stop on the tour....it's hard to decide which was the favorite....the chocolate shop, oil shop, spice emporium or the delicious pizza. I would recommend this to any food lover who would enjoy a leisurely stroll in a beautiful city with a lively, informative tour guide. Thank you! | ||||||

| My friends and I all loved learning about the two neighborhoods Wicker Park and Bucktown. None of us knew anything about either one. Our guide Kyle was very informative and kept us entertained the entire 3 hours. And the food...WOW...come hungry. Everything was delicious. | ||||||

| For many years we have been traveling to Chicago to experience the "Big City" culture and food. We have enjoyed the plays, museums, eaten at many of the fine restaurants but , we wanted to experience something different. this trip. We chose to stay in a Gold Coast hotel and when I saw the Near North Food Tasting and Cultlural Walking Tour on-line - I thought it would fit in perfectly with our plans and it did. We thoughly enjoyed the quaint shops and the great food on the tour. Our guide was very informative and it was just not a walk from shop to shop, but an educational tour. Being from a small town in the mid-west it was great to feel the eating experience with the locals in their neighborhoods. | ||||||

| The food tour was the high point of my Chicago vacation. Our guide Jessie was enthusiastic, knowledgable and outgoing. The portions of food were adequate- (you will not be hungry!). I've been on other food tours that were inside a market and although enjoyable it can not compete with being outdoors and learning about the neighborhood. I'm already looking forward to another tour by the same company! | ||||||

| My husband and I have visited Chicago many times, but have never seen it quite like we did during the tour. Being independent business owners ourselves, we appreciated the opportunity to visit some of Chicago's lesser known establishments. Our guide, Jen, was terrific. She shared so much about the neighborhoods we visited that it made us want to spend more time there. We enjoyed the food, but even more so the demonstrations about tea, spices and oils, which were very informative. The only thing missing was a Chicago hot dog, which would have been a nice addition. We highly recommend this tour. Just remember that it's one way! It's up to you to find your way back, but that gives everyone a chance to stop and shop at the places you visited. | ||||||

| Kate, our host, was great. She was punctual and kept the group moving. She seemed very knowledgeable about the products offered in the stores and gave honest opinions when asked. My favorite spot was The Spice House. The spice smells, the very kind employees, and the building itself. I thought it was too far between Catering*Chocolate and Bacino's. The pizza was delicious but I was really tired from the walk and we had exceptionally beautiful weather to be walking--in the 70's. I can't imagine taking the tour in normal July heat. I think a trolley would be a nice touch through those neighborhoods and parks and also to bring you back to Old Town to shop after the tour. We felt the tour took most of our day (we got there early/the tour/returning to shops), and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We want to come back to Chicago and take the Wicker/Bucktown tour. Also, your website is very easy to navigate, very helpful honest information about the tour and buying the tickets. Thanks. | ||||||

| We found that our tour guide was quite knowledgeable about the area and vendors, very energetic, informative and just delightful to spend the afternoon with. The choices of restaurants was wonderful as all of the tastings were delicious. I believe I speak for everyone in our group when I say we would highly recommend other friends take this tour. | ||||||

| The food was delicious. We were very impressed with the history and credentials of all of the resturants and chefs. Our guide, Kent, was so knowledgable and was able not only to keep the group of 14 moving on time but do it in a positive humerous manner. Kent also knew so much about the history and gave interesting facts that will help us remember this wonderful afternoon. He talked to all of the participants during the walk and gave such good information and insight into the area. We loved the coupons on the sheet and were very appreciative of the participation of the resturants. The hosts in each resturant welcomed us with a smile and had everything prepared and ready - thanks to Kent's calling ahead - when we arrived. The resturants were each unique and complimented the walk with different views and tates of the area. Each resturant welcomed us whole heartly even at this busy time of the day. They had areas set aside for the group and never once made you feeled rushed or in the way. This was one of the best organized tours I have been on and I was very impressed not only with the tour but the timing of the tour. The three hours went very quickly. Because of the locations, we also had time at the end to return that day and purchase several items to bring home for the families to taste later that day. We had enough food that no dinner was needed that night - just happy memories of this wonderful tour. People are missing a great opportunity if they do not take this tour. It is fun, filling, and delightful. Our weather was perfect, our guide outstanding, and our food the best of the best in each eating establishment. We cannot wait to return to every resturant and enjoy more of their delicious food. The tour lived up to its name and I would recommend it highly to everyone. I used this as birthday presents for my sister and sister-in-law and they said it was the best present ever. THANK YOU! | ||||||

| We were a group of friends who visit Chicago every summer. We took the other food tour in Gold Coast/Lincoln Park two years ago and loved it. So we thought we would give this one a try. We were not disappointed. Kent (with his pink tennis shoes) was a wonderful escort. The food was all so creative, new, and wonderfully tasty! We especially liked the chocolate drink and the I-cream. None of us had ever had anything like them. Everyone who visits Chicago should give this tour a try! | ||||||

| We really enjoyed the tour. Our guide Kent was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited. We really loved the focus on architecture and the changing demographics of the area. The food was great and filling!! We could not eat it all and took some away for later. | ||||||
