The food was a great slice of Chicago. The neighborhoods and architecture were lovely and the walk was easy. Have told several friends what fun we had. Thank you for a new look at Chicago.

A must do in Chicago!

This was my first food tour and it was a wonderful experience. As a non-local tourist, it was nice to meet many local people on the tour and our tour guide, Kent, was very funny and extremely knowledgeable. I was so full after the tour, definitely didn't need to eat lunch. I would try the other food tours offered by Chicago Food Planet the next time I visit Chicago.

As said, overall really enjoyed the tour. I had been on the north side tour also and had a basic idea of what to expect. We started at George's and were all seated and the guide, Kent, took us outside into the cold only to talk for ten minutes and then we went back inside where we previouly had been,. that didn't seem to make sense to me. At hot chocolate we had a lovely hot cocoa sample but given that the chef is known for her pastries i was disappointed to not have a sample of those while there. Next on to Goddess and the Grocer. This stop seemed like an after thought...it was quick and rushed and the sample wasn't good, a very generic griled vegetable salad. didn't seem to have any link or connection to the woman who opened the stores or her business- there were many other deli items that looked much more unique and flavorful than the vegetable salad. I was disappointed with that stop. Sultan's was good but we were seated in a back room and really missed out on the action going on up front and didnt have time to take it in, Piece was informative about the business but the pizza was cold and the beer sample was smaller than I thought $44 per ticket would have gotten us. iCream was very unique, cool that she is a UofC grad. I'm glad I checked out this tour, it was nice to visit another area of Chicago where I don't usually spend much time. It wasn't as good as the northside tour in my opinion. and I'd like to checkout the Chinatown tour sometime soon. Kent was cool- well informed, nice, knew alot about his "hood' and "people". My guests from Iowa CIty really enjoyed it and that is what matters.

Such a great time tasting wonderful food, learning how it's made, charming neighborhoods, local history. Jess was a fantastic guide and was great with the one child who was along on the tour. If you take a child make sure they are mature enough to be around adults for a long period of time and are open to trying new things. We had a blast--thank you!

A great way to explore Chicago!

Our friendly and knowledgable guide took us to interesting places and introduced us to a variety of foods. My sister, my nieces (ages 12 and 14), and I enjoyed every minute. We tried foods that we would never have discovered on our own. We found some new favorite stores that gladly ship products to your home. We learned more about the neighborhoods and Chicago's rich history. We got a bit of exercise. We met people from all over the world. In our small group of 16, many states and countries were represented. We loved it and plan to do another tour when I next visit Chicago. I highly recommend the tour.

Educational, interesting, fun!

My mom, sisters, aunt, and cousin just took this tour last weekend. Despite the fact that it rained throughout the entire tour, it was still our favorite part of the weekend! The tour guide (Jess) was informative and easy to talk to and she did a great job. What we got to "sample" was more than enough for lunch, so the price of the ticket isn't bad when you think that you get your meal with it! The historical/educational part of the tour was very interesting, and Jess recommended a book to read about the Chicago Worlds Fair (The Devil in the White City). Overall, it was a great tour, we definetly recommend it to anyone! There were people on our tour from Chicago and from other states, so it sounds like this is a tour for everyone!

Fun and informative tour

I highly enjoyed this tour! Our tour guide, Jessica, provided a lot of information about each stop. Even though it rained the whole tour, it did not dampen her enthusiasm. Each stop provided delicious food and an opportunity to learn more about Chicago. Jessica even gave some good recommendations on other activities to do in Chicago. I wish that we had taken the tour earlier in our trip to have time to take advantage of the recommendations! I highly recommend this tour!

Great time despite the weather.

We enjoyed our tour, but the weather was terrible. It rained the entire time. We could have done without the architicture tour of the park since it was raining. All the food stops were great. We will definitely go anther tour.

The tour was great but the RAIN all day had an impact on the outcome. Couldn't do much of the walking part, and it really put a damper on the whole thing.

We had a great time, in spite of the rain! Our tour guide was great, she had lots of energy and knowledge of the food, area and buildings. We highly recommend this for anyone wanting to go beyond the magnificent mile. I would say I have a enjoyed many interesting foods but still got introduced to new taste experiences on this tour. Good value for money. We did the 11am tour which worked perfect.

We really enjoyed the food at our tastings and getting to walk around learning in a relaxed pace. Pastrami was amazing! Our guide was perfect and was very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend to anyone trying to think of things to do in Chicago when you feel like you've seen it all by now. Looking forward to trying one of the other tours
