Loved this food tour! Our guide was excellent and the samples sizes of food were a nice size. I learned alot about Chinese Culture as well. Recommend this tour.

Our tour guide was simply fabulous. She was knowledgeable, fun, enthusiastic and delightful. I highly recommend the Chinatown trip and the North end tour we took last time we were in Chicago. Next time we will incorporate the remaining tour. Get busy so we don't run out of foodie adventures. We have taken food tours in many cities and this was one of my favorite.Brought my sister and brother in law and they loved it too!

A tasty way to explore a part of Chicago.

Our 30-something daughter recently moved to Chicago. This tour was a wonderful way to learn about a part of the city. Our guide was knowledgeable, entertaining and efficient. Each of the six stops was special in its own way. We plan to return to all of them. The food was well-chosen, tasty and plentiful. The stories behind the local architecture and neighborhood histories made this much more than a food experience. We are eager to do the other two tours.

The food/walking tour through Bucktown/Wicker Park was a wonderful experience. The food stops were carefully appointed and the walking tour allowed for a wonderful learning experience. Our guide, Lisa was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. I would definitely recommend and use this company again!

I really enjoyed this tour. Besides being great food the cultural walk and learning the history of the area was very interesting. The tour guide, Lisa, made it even better because you can tell she loves where she lives and enjoys sharing it with those who are there to experience it.

This was our first visit to Chicago and we had researched various attractions on several websites. The Chicago Food Planet Tours caught our interest since it seemed like the perfect opportunity to explore local neighbourhoods and to partake in local food favourites. Both our tour guide and the total experience exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend the tour and hope to try another of their walking tours on a future visit.

The leader was extremely knowledgeable about the area, its history, and the owners of each food establishment visited. The food was unique and excellent at each stop.

It's more than food, it's history too

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and then moved away. While back visiting I decided to take this tour. The food was fabulous and I couldn't believe the amount of history I learned that I had never heard before. The tour guide was cheery, humorous and able to answer any question our group threw at her. She even pointed out some of her personal favorite restaurants outside of the tour as we walked the lovely streets of Chicago. I can't wait to make a trip back to Chicago again so I can sign up for the China Town food tour.

Fun Afternoon on the Near North Food Tour
Tue, Oct 2, 12   11:00 AM susandc Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
What a fun way to spend a beautiful fall afternoon in Chicago-eating our way through the "Near North"! Jess was a wonderful guide-personable and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious-reuben sandwiches, deep dish pizza, fudge, and macaroons. Also, stopping to learn about tea, spices, oils, and vinegars was quite an education. Jess' culinary background, as well as her knowledge of the history of Chicago, in general, and the neighborhoods, specifically, made the tour even more meaningful. The tour was paced nicely with moderate amount of walking-even had time for restroom breaks. The 3 hours just flew by! Thanks, Jess, for a most enjoyable afternoon!

Great guide, so-so stops

Not all the restaurants met our expectations, specifically Lao Beijing. Our guide was well informed, cordial, and enthusiastic. Having organized the tour quite well, she producted a satisfying experience that was lacking only in the kind of food and service we experienced in Lao Beijing. I'd never go there again.

Scrumptious food, and lots of it!

All the food was yummy, but my favorite was the house made marshmallow & hot chocolate. There was a loooot of food. I couldn't eat one of the courses, and felt uncomfortable afterward. But I still enjoyed it. I also really liked hearing about and looking at different houses in the area.

Our guide , Lisa was very knowledgeable and gave a nice cross-section of food venus. In addition she gave us a nice background about the history and architecture of the neighborhood. The tour is very well organized and she is in close touch with her restaurant vendors so that there was no waiting for the food samplings once we got the restaurants. I would definitely recommend the tour service and would also try one of their other tours they offer if my wife and I get back to Chicago again. I found this more interesting than a museum as it was all at once, verbal, visual, and gustational. Good food ! What's not to like??
