I've been a resident of Chicago for nearly 20 years and I learned at least a dozen new things about the city and its architecture from this tour! Our guide did an excellent job and the food was delicious! Highly recommended!

The Best Tour in the City

We had a blast! My wife, my best friend and I expected a good time, but this blew us away. Well worth the money. The energy and knowledge of the tour guide was engaging and entertaining. This is the best way to see Chicago and some of its greatest little secrets - both cultural and culinary. The food was amazing and interesting, and the walk was beautiful and captivating. I regret moving out of the city moreso now than ever before. At the end of the tour we couldn't believe we had walked as far as we did and the time just flew by. Tourists and locals alike MUST TAKE THIS TOUR! P.S. - Not a bad way to meet people either.

The tour was great. The food was amazing and besides that I learned a lot about Chicago history and architecture. It's also a really different tour for anyone visiting from out of town because you will get to visit some of the neighborhoods outside of downtown where you might not know where to go on your own.

More Diversity!

I really enjoyed the tour! In fact, I think I had better rapport with my tour guide (Shane) than my date! My only recommendation I am offering to improve the tour would be to include more diversity. Even though Shane talked about how diverse Chicago is, we didn't really hit any ethnic specialties with regard to food tastings. I know that there are food items that are universally liked even to someone who has never had ethnic food before. Also, ok we get it-- Chicago is the chocolate capital. We began at Ghirardelli. As someone from San Francisco, I believe that is where it all began with Ghirardelli. (Of course, I don't have cold, hard facts on that, but I'm pretty sure.) But this could be an area where you substitute an ethnic food instead. While non-european immigrant history is much more recent, it is still just as vibrant in Chicago and would be a great addition to the tour. On the whole, I thought it was very well done and left me with a lot of great information about the city's architecture, culture, flavor, and spirit of the city. Thanks for a great day!

A Perfect Mix of History, Architecture & Food

This tour was a great way to learn about some of Chicago's neighborhoods while tasting our way through them. Shane (?sp) our tour guide was great at pointing out historical landmarks as we made our way from the Magnificent Mile to the Gold Coast, Old Town and then Lincoln Park. The food stops were generally places we wouldn't have found on our own -- from tea, to spices, to bread and chocolate -- not your usual tourist attractions. Breadsmith and The Spice House were well worth the tour. We needed more time at The Fudge Pot to shop, and ethel's Chocolate was a bit too pretentious for us. A cheese stop would have rounded out the tour nicely. Overall, we would highly recommend this to tourists who like to walk and eat.

Great experience

My girlfreind and I really enjoyed this tour. The food was fantastic, and our tour guide did an excellent job of showing us unique parts of the city. Both of us were extremely suprised at how much information we recieved from our tour guide. It was much more than simply a food tasting tour. We both recommend taking this tour if you are in the Chicago area. One suggestion however, take the tour when you first arrive in the city, because you will definatly want to go back to some of the locations.

SO MUCH FUN !!!!!

My friend and I recently took the Chicago food tour. Neither of us had ever been to Chicago and did not know much about the city. We had a wonderful tour guide who was funny and full of facts. We not only learned all about Chicago history but were given an inside look at all the parks, historic homes, great shopping, and good places to eat. We had so much fun and would tell anyone who was coming to Chicago to take the tour. Each stop we made was very interesting and had something good to eat or drink. We took the tour the second day in the city and were able to get back and shop and eat at several of the places we had visited. It was great!!! Kristine Graham,Texas

Fun and informative

When I travel to new places, I like to see how (and where) people live and eat and enjoy their lives. This tour allowed us to do that by walking through the neighborhoods which were very distinct and learning about their history. We enjoyed the food samples and loved the local spots we visited. I think we gained an unique perspective of Chicago. It was a good balance to the architectural boat tour that we took later in the week. Our tour guide was wonderful and we enjoyed meeting the other people in the group. We only wished for a list of the places we visited, but understood that those had not yet been printed for the season. We greatly appreciated the "early" tour! The pace was good even for somewhat out-of -shape folks!
