| My husband and I visited Chicago for vacation and took your wonderful Chicago Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour. We started out at Ghiradelli chocolates, and it was a great place to start! Our tour guide, Tad, was very organized, alot of fun, had a natural talent for creating a rapport with people. He has an obvious passion for his job. He gave some trivia where we could win chocolates, and then gave us an overview of what we would see on the tour and then we started walking to several really nice locations. My husband and I are fit, so the walking was not a problem, but there were a few people on the tour that were having trouble keeping up. This tour maintained a moderate to slow pace. If you are used to walking regularly or have been on a walking tour before with no issues, you will be fine. If you are not fit enough to walk a few miles or have health problems that limit your mobility, you might want to consider a different tour. We went to a variety of places; a Jewish Deli, a Tea shop, The Spice House(totally recommend going here even if you don't do the tour), a chocolate shop, a gourmet shop, and Bacino's Pizza. Unfortunately, we missed the chocolate lounge due to having another commitment(our tour went a bit long). This was one of the best walking tours I have been on. Not only did we get a taste of Chicago with our food samples, we got a tour of some neighborhoods, landmarks, places of interest, and some background which I didn't expect to get. Tad was very knowledgable and answered questions as we walked and even gave restaurant suggestions. The group was a lot of fun and everyone got along well. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who likes history, walking tours and of course, likes good food! | ||||||

| I learned about this tour on food tv - and it well worth our time & money. My husband was skeptical and ended up really enjoying himself. Niki, our guide was very informative. Later during our vacation we revisited several of the locations & used the coupons they gave us. Definitely do this tour early in your trip so you can enhance your vacation. By the way the Spice House was our favorite stop. | ||||||

| Everyone in our party certainly enjoyed walking around the three different neighborhoods of Chicago and tasting various foods and learning the history of neighborhoods. The weather was perfect for the walk, although the leader did not have any control over it, but she was very knowledgeable, engaging, and articulate. We had a ball and I recommend it to families especially with teenagers who might "turn-up their noses" to the traditional way of sightseeing ( on a bus or trolley) for they will find this tour fun, educational, and exciting because there is FOOD, history, and walking involved. The food was delicious, by the way! | ||||||

| Our guide was very energetic as well as knowledgable and fun. The food samples could have been a little more ample, but the breadth of the information and sites seen were worth the fee and the time committed! | ||||||

| The tour was excellent. I was impressed by the guide's knowledge of the city and the food was fantastic. There was plenty to fill us up, especially the pizza. An all around great way to spend a sunny afternoon in Chicago. | ||||||

| Take this tour on your first day visiting Chicago. We learned so much from Shane and truly got to feel what "Real Chicago" was like. Lots of information, delicious food, and tired feet...we would do it again in a heartbeat!! | ||||||

| Traveling as a single woman, I enjoyed this tour very much. It was easy and comfortable to be a single in the group. The meeting location was easy to find and we were given good directions on how to get back after the tour.Our guide, Shane, was enthusiastic, humorous, and very knowledgable. He seemed to really enjoy giving the tour. I prefer walking tours over driving tours and this tour introduced me to neighborhoods I would never have seen on my own. I have a new appreciation for the city of Chicago. The food tastings were as described when I read about the tour online.The tastings were fun, but only part of the tour. I enjoyed and appreciated the comments on history, local life of the neighborhoods and communities, and the recommendations on restaurants.The pace was not rushed, yet it did not go too slow. The tour was advertised at taking 3 hours and ours took 3 1/2 hours. A friend who took the same tour the day before said her tour took closer to 4 hours. Our tour started at 2:00pm on Sunday. I would recommend taking an earlier tour to allow time to go back to the stores for shopping before they close. | ||||||

| Our group was small just me an another gal which made the tour that much more interesting. I prefer a smaller group because it is more personal. Instead of the guide spitting out memorized information he was passionate about what he was teaching us about the city and its history. The places where we had tastings were a good variety and was a good balance for this type of tour. Althought we walked a great deal it was relaxing and not overwelming. It was a great way to see different parts the city you would otherwise not know about . | ||||||

| My sister and I enjoyed every minute of the tour. We have been to Chicago several times but this is the first for a tour. We were pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had, the knowledge of the guide (Shane) and the amount of food. We were full!!! I never thought we would say we had too much chocolate but we did---our own fault. We would highly recommend this to everyone. Shane was a personable guide and it made for a very pleasant afternoon. | ||||||

| I had been on a Greenwich tour in NYC and decided to take the Chicago one. It was just as wonderful as the NYC tour. Our guide Nicki was great and very informative. When I bring my sisters back for a visit, this will definitely be on the agenda Jeanette | ||||||

| I VERY MUCH ENJOYED THE FOOD TOUR, IT WAS EVEN BETTER THAN I HAD ANTICIPTED. THE GUIDE WAS SO FRIENDLY AND INTERESTING AND MADE EVERYONE ON THE TOUR FEEL WELCOME. I REALLY ENJOYED ALL THE DIFFERENT PLACES/FOODS WE TRIED. THE WALKS THROUGH THE VARIOUS NEIGHBOURHOODS WAS EXTREMELY INTERESTING TOO-I WOULD NEVER HAVE FOUND ALL THOSE NICE SPOTS BY MYSELF IN THE FEW DAYS I HAD IN CHICAGO. NICKI MADE ALL THE INFORMATION SOUND FRESH AND INTERESTING EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS PROBABLY GIVEN THE TOUR HUNDREDS OF TIMES. THE YOUNG MAN, TROY, WHO WAS IN TRAINING WITH NICKI WAS ALSO VERY PLEASENT AND INFORMATIVE. IT WAS VERY GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THE TOUR TO ANYONE GOING TO CHICAGO. | ||||||

| Enjoyed the tour guide Guide was considerate and entertaining Loved the interesting facts on the archtiecture Was lead to believe it was a two mile walk, according to my pedometor, I think it was closer to six. Those with health issues should know ahead Thought there would be more food to taste, but enjoyed the walk and the facts along the way I would highly recommend this tour | ||||||

| My husband and I went on the tour on Friday, July 20th. We had Nicki as our guide. She was so pleasant and helpful and well informed. I am 8 months pregnant and she was very aware of me getting tired or needing a rest room or having caffeine, which I really appreciated. The tour was so much fun and so informative. We learned a lot about the beautiful city of Chicago and all the great small food businesses there. I highly recommend this tour. It was the perfect amount of food, walking and a really great learning experience. I am so glad that I found it and we had such a fun tour guide. Definite thumbs up! Cathy from Philly | ||||||
