| Despite the warnings at the start of the tour that we should supend and diets that we might be on this tour did not deliver in the food consumption department. Of the seven stops only four actually provided food (if you don't count licking spices or sipping olive oil as food consumption). And apart from the final wedge of gooey pizza all other tastings were just that: tiny tastings. We did get iced tea to drink, but only after what was a ten minute 'onfo-mercial' exhorting us to return to the tea shop to purchase teas and tea-making gadgets. Most of he food stops are not really culturally linked to the areas although by American standards most are long-established. Having said this I'd still recommend the tour. It was a good long and aimiable walk, the day was sunny and warm, our guide was cute and enthusiastic and as a regular visitor to Chicago I saw things (and tasted things) I had never seen or tasted before. | ||||||

| Unique tour concept....really enjoyed all the stops....leader Shane was very informative and enthusiastic. I'd suggest just a bit more in the way of food samples....maybe a small side item at the first stop (deli) or the last one (pizzeria) as it does go almost 3 1/2 hours. The option to buy beer flight samples at the pizzeria bar was a nice bonus! | ||||||

| Kerry was an enthusiastic and informative guide for our tour of Wicker Park and Bucktown in Chicago. She has an infectious appreciation for the area's history, culture and commerce. I'd eagerly recommend this and other food tours available through Zerve. | ||||||

| My wife and I visited Chicago for the blues festival. Took a few hours to join this food & walking tour. We had a great time. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. Our guide was very knowledgable and very sweet ( also very pretty! ). We were not stuffed with food but were very impressed with the knowledge of the foods we were shown not only by our guide but also by the shop staff. Particularly re teas, spices and oils. Our guide also gave us a lot of info re the neighbourhoods we walked through which we felt gave a good insight into parts of Chicago you would not reach on your own. The tour is very good value ( especially compared to similar tours in London which are five times the price ). Pace is comfortable and met a nice group of people. I strongly recommend this tour! | ||||||

| My wife and I were in Chicago for a few days of fun. The tour was great from every aspect. We had an enthusiastic and very knowledgable guide who took us to some great food spots and helped us learn about three Chicago neighborhoods. My wife is a great cook and as a food-lover she loved the spice shop and the oil shop. The samples at the candy store were great and the concluding pizza stop was excellent. We now have a new favorite pizza place in Chicago. We went back to Old Town twice later in the week for meals and shopping. My wife says, "Our guide was very informative and lots of fun and we found some great stores and great places to eat". | ||||||

| There was only three people in our group with our tour guide Jen. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and awesome. She customized our tour and adapted to the many questions we had. We went from 11:00-2:45 and the time flew by. Very cool tour and it is highly recommended if you don't have a lot of time or if you are just entering Chicago. Thanks Jen! | ||||||

| I got a call from my cousin that his girlfriend surprised him with a trip to Chicago. I had been unable to go out for his birthday in Minneapolis, so I thought I'd surprise them with a food tour. I searched the web and the Near North Tour looked highly credible. I bought their tickets and told them where to go and when. They absolutely loved it, thought that they got to see a side of the city that they never would have seen otherwise. They said that there was a lot of walking, but that it was enjoyable in the Spring. They particularly liked the Olive Oil stop and the Pizza at Bocino's. I would highly recommend this as a gift for someone travelling to Chicago. I lived there for four years in college and I know the great food Chicago has to offer. I was happy to be able to share that with my cousin by buying them these tickets. | ||||||

| My wife and I did the Near North tour this weekend for my 31st birthday. It was so great. We live out in the Chicago suburbs and get into the city about once or twice a month. This was something completely different than the normal Mag Mile walking, eating at the Grand Lux, and whatever tourist stuff we typically do. I highly recommend that everyone do this tour. I can't wait to do the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour soon! | ||||||

| My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We were kind of nervous when we showed up. We were the first ones there, but the guide (Kent) was there and made us feel comfortable immediately. The eateries we visited were great. From downhome to some of Chicago's (and the country's) finest eateries. The food at each was wonderful—and plentiful. Additionally, the history and cultural stories that guide gave were also excellent. I must also say that the guide was excellent in how he led our group, entertained us and kept us safe when crossing streets. When we return to Chicago we'll be taking the Near North Tour and probably eat at one of the places we visited. If you're interested in food, history, culture, architecture and want to do something in Chicago out of the Mich Ave area, do this. | ||||||

| Although we had lived in Chicago for seven years, we returned to visit now that we moved away. This is an activity/service that was long overdue for a city with excellent food and culture. We expected to try some good food, which we did, but was pleasantly surprised to have all the additional neighborhood information along the walk. I learned new things about buildings, parks, and areas that I had been in countless times. Jennifer (our tour guide) had wonderful energy and really engaged well with a diverse group. Be prepared to walk...the Near North tour covered a pretty significant distance that would be difficult for someone with mobility problems. I highly recommend this tour and look forward to trying others if/when they expand to some of the lesser known but equally interesting neighborhoods. | ||||||

| If you'd like to try a selection of different Chicagoan eateries in a short space of time this is trip for you. An authentic Chicago dog for starter sets the scene for the remaining tastings, which are definitely enough for most people's lunch. And it is not all about the food, there is a chance to find out a bit of the history and architecture of the area. Whether you're from the city or out of the country there is something for you to discover on this trip. | ||||||
