Bucktown walking tour different but just as good.

Enjoyed the Near North walking tour 2 years ago that on a return trip to Chicago had to try the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour. Our guide was fantastic, the tour was wonderful as was the food. We will be trying the restaurants on a return visit to Chicago and once again will be recommending the tours to friends on their trips to this great city. Thank you once again, Maureen

Good time, very filling and educational!

Was a good time! I'm a bit cheap (frugal?), so $42 per person in my opinion is a bit steep for a sampling food tour. Ended up being very full after the tour. Didn't end up eating again until 7PM or so that night, and even that was a light dinner. Was great to try a few different Chicago restaurants and foods, along side learning about the stores and the history of them. The walking tour through the Wicker park was also enjoyable (and a great break after eating). Even though I'm cheap and I think it was a bit expensive for my tastes, I still would recommend it and don't regret any decision with this tour. Next time, I would try the other food tour or a different walking tour with this group add a little variety!

As first time visitors to Chicago, we wanted to make the most of our weekend there. This tour covered all the bases for us: a little history, some walking, architecture,& great food only found in Chicago. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and kept things moving right along. We would certainly consider doing a tour in another neighborhood.

We had a new tour guide, Nicole, but she did a great job. She was very friendly and very informative. The food was very good and great variety. The first 4 stops are pretty close together--so you get very full. However the nice walk before the last two stops helped to settle our stomachs.

Not Quite as Good as New York

We quite enjoyed our food tour. In comparing this tour against the one that we took in New York City, I would say that the NYC tour was a bit better. I would have liked to have more history of Chicago and more info regarding the architecture of the area. The amount of food provided was quite good but could have been a bit more substantial.

Great thing to do in Chicago!

Having been to Chicago numerous times over the years, this tour brought my teens and I to local establishments and neighborhoods that we would not have otherwise known about. The education about the foods, the history of the city, and the architecture that we experienced provided wonderful additions to the opportunity to eat great food. Definately allow time in your Chicago itinerary to go back to the shops and restaurants on your own.

Great exposure to to new tastes, tea shop and oil and vinegar shop. Well organized. We almost missed our tour - traffic delays for cab. I called company and they were unable to rebook us for the next tour as they were sold out - but indicated that first stop would be 20 minutes - so we were able to join our tour without any problem - just missed the first few minutes.

I have been on both walking/food tours and they offer an excellent way to see the city and enjoy all the diverse food Chicago has to offer. On both tours, my husband and I took family from out of town and they reported it was their favorite part of their trip to Chicago!

I had a great time! Walking through the neighborhoods with a personalized tour was great. The tastings were at many small business type shops that I would have never found otherwise. Had a great time!

Delightful way to spend a few hours in Chicago

I'm a Chicago native but have lived for many years in the New York area. Took the tour with a longtime friend, also originally from Chicago, and we had a wonderful time. The tour guide (don't remember his name; a moonlighting [daylighting?] lawyer, I believe) was superb: entertaining and well-informed; he was a delight. Store visits were well-planned and owners were most accommodating and informative; along the route we were also treated to tidbits of info about the Near North neighborhood (all accurate, I'm happy to report!). Heartily recommended. (Note: my friend has severe arthritis, and thus some difficulty with walking, but sitdown opportunities were provided; she had no complaints.)

Chris was a fantastic Gold Coast guide who paced things well. I didn't expect the tour to be so informative about Chicago's architectural history--a bonus! Great variety of food stops with gracious establishment owners and staff. My only suggestion would be to offer an optional shuttle back to the starting point. Recommended!

Great Food and Great Tour

Wow! What a great way to spend 3 hours in Chicago - eating and sampling your way through the charming neighborhoods of Chicago. It was fun to sample a unique variety of foods including pastrami sandwiches, specialty teas, spices, high-grade balsamic vinegars and olive oils, handmade yummy candy, pastries and the best deep-dish Chicago pizza. Our tour guide was Hillary and I highly recommend her if she's available. Not only did Hillary provide detailed information about each establishment, she kindly pointed out several buildings we walked past, giving detailed information about each building as well as historical information about the city of Chicago.

Our tour guide, Hillary was great!!! She made the tour very interesting and fun!! The tour it self was something I think everyone that comes to Chicago should do because it show show another part of the city, a down to earth kind of place. I loved all the stores we stop at. The tasting of all the foods was also great! I would do it again whenever I get back to Chicago! I just LOVED EVERYTHING!!!!! Thank you Hillary!!

We have never been on a food related tour that was more fun, more delicious, or more informative. The group was encouraged to interact and enjoy, and it was a truly memorable experience. Our tour guide Jess, made the tour an A+ with her humor, knowledge, and friendly demeanor.
