Good variations of establishments. Fun group. Good information from the guide. If there is anything negative to say is there is no way to be sure if the tour will be on schedule if you have slow walking people in the group, so it is harder for tourists who have a strict schedule. We had a good time and we will do other tours if we visit Chicago again. We will recommend it to our friends for sure. |

I usually shy away from tours when I visit new cities, but on this trip I was traveling with my mom and she always wants to do tours. I decided a good compromise would be a food tour and it was great!
Our tour guide Hillary was extremely friendly and informative.
The restaurants and shops we stopped at were mostly places you would never find on your own and the food / drinks were delicious!
I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to learn a little bit about Chicago and food at the same time. |

I highly recommend the Near North Walking Tour. There was a wonderful mix, not only of different foods, but also architecture and local history. I especially enjoyed casually walking through the different neighborhoods and experiencing the eclectic vibe. Tea Gschwendner, Old Town Oil and the Fudge Pot were my favorites. Our guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely go on another tour. |

There was a second aspect to this then just food tasting: History. As we walked and experienced different specialty and entrepreneurial stores we were visually treated to areas I personally did not know existed. The two guides were very knowledgeable and not surprisingly the three hours went by very quickly. |

The tour is very well organized and the guides are very experienced and know what they are talking about. The extra information you get to learn about chicago is also a nice addtion to the tour. It would be nice to be able to buy things while on tour, but it is better to have a shorter tour and buy things afterwards.
Overall we had a great experience and would recommend this tour to anyone! |

Wonderful tour. Our guide Jess was extremely knowledgeable regarding all of the places we visited and all of the architecture along the way. She was an art student which I am sure enhanced her ability to be very enthustiastic and informative. The eateries were great. I had never been to a place where we could sample just oil and vinegars. The food was great and plenty for a lunch. Walking was fine especially since we had good weather. I only wish that we had more time at the speciality shops as we would have loved to have time to purchase items. All in all I would highly recommend the tour. |

We had so much fun on this food tasting and walking cultural tour! Our tour guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable about all the stops on the tour and then some, and the food was delicious!! We didn't want it to end, and would love to do it again on our next visit to Chicago. |

The tour was even better than expected. I learned a lot about not only the places we visited, but about the parts of the city that we walked through. My two favorite spots were the tea and the olive oil stores - highly recommended! |

Our guide, Nikki, was great. We enjoyed the history of the area which included tasting various foods from great shops. We had to go back and buy from "The Spice House", the tea shop and had oils and vinegars shipped back to our home from "Old Town Oil". Our two twenty year old children enjoyed it too! |

I was in the travel business for many years and have taken tours all over the world, but this one was one of the best. Great guide, beautifull area, fun shops and restaurants, educational, and entertaining. Wanted to take the other tour the next day, but it didn't operate on Sundays. Darn!!! |

I really liked the food tour. My only criticisms would be that I think there should be one more tasting- the Near North tasting has several more stops- and I did not like the Goddess and Grocer. All the rest of the tastings were great and the locations were great choices. The G&G was a little weak in comparison in that we were stuffed into the store, the sampling was small and not well chosen, and the location did not seem to add much to the tour. What about adding Birchwood Kitchen or Feast or Margie's or Cafe Irazu to the tour instead? But all in all, we had a very enjoyable time and our tour guide was really fun! |

I love Chicago and try to tack on a visit with my business trips. I've done lots of plays, architectural tours, dining, etc. downtown. This was a great option to see another part of this great city.
I thought the tour was very well laid out. A had a great mix of neighbourhood history, food facts and history, food tasting, and architectural facts.
The food stops were varied - everything from a lowly hot dog that was probably one of the best hot dogs I've ever had to world class hot chocolate and ice cream. Pizza and beer was good but not world class. Grocery was nothing different. Falaffal was excellent. Of course everyone has different tastes, but judging from the feedback everyone gave at the end of the tour I would say these comments reflect not just my thoughts. As far as amount goes the portions are small to moderate - just the right amount in my opinion.
The neat architecture in the area is mainly 3 level walk-ups. This part of the tour was better than I expected. It also prevents you from feeling too stuffed.
Gina our guide was very good. High energy, good speaking voice, great personality, well informed.
The only reason I rated this tour 4 and not 5 is because there are so many great things to see in Chicago I don't think I would put this as number 1. However if you want to see another part of Chicago or you are a real foodie I would highly recommend this tour. |
