Chicago Food Tour

May 29, 2010 What a great way to get into the local neighborhood and experience the culture first hand. The samples of food, spices, pastries, drink, oil & vinegar, along with the history of the neighborhood and local architecture satisfied our questions about the area we were visiting. Our guide, Jess, shared her love for the City with great passion. Jess took time to visit individually with her guest and sought feedback about the tour at each stop along the way. Jess made a point to know each of the persons in the group's name and home state. Jess was very prepared and it was a joy to be in her gorup. Thank you Jess. The stops and the pace of the tour were very well planned and each merchant along the tour welcomed our group with a smile and were ready for the group. The tour satisfied our senses and we made an effort to return to the merchants later in the day to purchase goods. We also returned to the area to eat breakfast at a local bakery the following morning. We Highly recommend this tour!

Loved all the unique places we got to visit. From the spice shop to the oil and vinegar shop where got to mix and match different oils and vinegars. Where else do you get to do that? The tea shop was a favorite. Who knew there were so many flavors of tea to try. The stuffed crust pizza was really tasty. I didn't think we would have a lot to eat at each place, but I was stuffed by the end. Everything was tasty. Also our guide Jess did a great job. She was very enthusiastic and informative about the food and the architecture along the route. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

We were visiting friends who live in Chicago -- and for the 4 of us, we could not think of a better way to spend the afternoon. Not only was each stop better than the last, but there was so much food! Our guide (Kent) was friendly and animated - and he obviously enjoys sharing the history of the neighborhoods (Bucktown/Wicker Park) on the tour. Not only do I recommend this tour, I hope that we can go back and do it again!

We had a great time. All the food was delicious and bigger portions that we expected. Living in the city and learning new things about our beautiful city was just icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this tour and I am looking forward to trying the other one.

This tour was so much fun, my boyfriend found it online and bought tickets for one of our days in the city. Our tour guide was Kent and you could tell he really knows his city; the food was fabulous and the extra walk to enjoy the architecture and scenery was a nice break--might want to bring a doggy bag though, you definitely won't still be hungry afterwards. We ended up canceling our dinner reservations for later that night!

Needed to take 2 teenagers on a semi educational tour of Chicago area other than Michigan Ave. and Macy's. We did Near North and Bucktown/Wicker Park tours Was enjoyable for all of us. Niece told me, "I saw parts of Chicago that I never even knew existed." That's exactly what I wanted to her to get out of the tours. The tour guides Jess and Kent did great jobs showing us around the neighborhoods. Had lots of information about the areas we toured. The delicious food was a bonus. Got all of us to think outside of the "Macy's/McDonalds/mall" box. Really enjoyed both tours. Highly recommend both tours.

We had such a good time on the tour that we will be looking for food tours wherever we go. We were fed plenty of food; I was actually full before the 5th stop. My favorite stop was Hot Chocolate...OMG! We have all vowed to return to Chicago just to go back there. Kent was an excellent guide, full of information and personality. I went on the Greenwich Village, NY tour in Dec. and had great time there too but the amount of food on the Bucktown/Wicker Park Chicago tour was far greater.

My wife and I recently visited Chicago for the first time. We had a fantastic time but the highlight of our trip was our food tasting and cultural walking tour. It was wonderful and we truly enjoyed our experience. I'd read about it online but our tour was better than we could have imagined. It was so much fun and so interesting. The food was delicious and the neighborhoods we toured were amazing. We saw parts of Chicago and experienced things off the beaten path that we would not have experienced on our own. And our tour guide, Arianna, made it such a great experience. She was fun, enthusiastic, friendly and so knowledgeable. The tour was worth every penny, a real treat!

My daughter and I enjoyed the tour, it was more than we expected. The food experience was very informative but on our walk we also learned so much about the neighborhoods and history of the city. We had plenty to eat and a nice variety of businesses to visit. Hillary was excellent. I am recommending it to everyone.
