| Tour was okay - lot of walking (thank goodness it was not a hot day), Jewish deli potato pancake good (may be pastrami sampler - 1/4 of sandwich - would be better and those who do not want pastrami or corned beef can have the potato pancake) cheese and crackers good (not much time to shop), stuffed pizza delicious, oil & vinegar tasting ok, spice store interesting again, not much time to shop. Chocolate candy stores (2) nice but to be honest, thought I would be sampling food (naturally, in small amounts). Tour guide was very nice, spoke well, and knew the history of the neighborhoods. Thank you. | ||||||

| We've done the uptown, downtown, museums, etc. This tour gives a whole new perspective on the LOCAL scene. Neighborhood history comes alive as we walked among the shops and homes with our guide providing insights. Stopping at small food stores made for a culinary experience as well. Since the tour ends at a different point than it begins, we doulbed our pleasure by walking back on a different route. We are recommending this tour, and the new Bucktown venture, to our friends and family. | ||||||

| Our guide Emily was very friendly and informative. The foods we sampled were very good and even tough our feet hurt by the end, we were very glad to have selected the tour as one of the ways we got to experience Chicago. | ||||||

| I would highly recommend this walking tour. Each place was extremely organized and our tour guide was charming and informative. It was fun to explore the three neighborhoods on foot and learn a bit of their history and architecture. My group wanted to go back and shop so we walked the route again in reverse. This all made for tired feet and full stomachs! You need to organize similar tours in other ethnic areas of the city! | ||||||

| Our guide,Nicky, met us at Azkanaz Deli and began our tour on a beautiful day in Chicago. She was full of info about the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park and Old Town and the stops in shops along the way was fun and took the place of lunch with candy, gourmet oils and vinegars, spices, deep dish"heart healthy pizza, gourmet cheeses, and deli tastes. The walk was just long enough and even though we are locals, we all enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to anyone who likes to get a closer look into the neighborhoods. | ||||||

| The food tour was very interesting and tasty. An oil and vinegar tasting place was especially great, but all of the places were worth while. The Chicago pizza was the best pizza I've tasted anywhere in the world, no exageration. The tour guide makes it clear at the beginning that tips are appropriate if we think she did a good job. At the end this is reinforced as she tells people she is going to shake everyone's hand. Money thus changes hands easily. This is not necessary bad; I was going to tip anyway. It was just an unusual way of collecting them in my experience. | ||||||

| Our tour guide was very enthusiastic and informative throughout the tour. The selections made for our group to visit were, all but one, local establishments. Our brother and sister-in-law from Florida and my husband and I from the suburbs all really enjoyed it. The long walk made us feel less guilty about the food we were eating too! I would recommend it to anyone who can walk and likes to eat. | ||||||

| We have never done anything like this before but it looked fun - and it was. It was a very hot day (late July) but 3 and a half hours later we were delighted we had done it. Emily our guide, was GREAT! She made it cheerful and interesting and she got the group talking to each other a bit - no mean feat! All were Americans except 2 Spanish, 2 Canadians and us two Kiwis from New Zealand. We could have taken even more information about the areas we walked through - nationalities living there, architecture, history, etc. There were a few assumptions made that we knew our American history (we had no idea why there had been riots in Chicago in the 70's? 80's? - we asked other walkers and not all the Americans were that sure of details either although the Canadian seemed to know a bit about it!!) However, if there are not a lot of foreigners then I can understand why assumptions are made. We could have spent longer on some places hearing exactly how they prepare spices, balsamic vinegar etc but the time was limited we know! The amount of food and tasting was great. Being Kiwis we seem to have smaller appetites than those from the US of A so we even had to ask for a 'doggie bag' at the pizza place :-) We felt it was well thought out and planned - I guess I would have swapped one chocolate place less for some other speciality but I don't know what there is that could be covered! We went home to relatives living in Chicago, who have never heard of it - and we raved and showed them our sheets of information etc and encouraged them to go! We were so pleased we did something like this and it may well be that we will do another one in some new place we go to in the future! If we returned to Chicago for a third time (as we would love to do) I would definitely go back to some of the shops to get a few things! We left Chicago the next day - we love the city and this walk was a great addition to our appreciation of it! Thank you. We are hoping that our exchange of emails with several other walkers will result in them getting in touch with us when they come to New Zealand! | ||||||

| Our leader, a young man, was entertaining with lots of information. I enjoyed the small shops and historical tidbits, but there was actually very little food and a rather long walk between the last two stops. | ||||||

| My husband and I are former Suburban Chicagoans, now living in Virginia, visiting my mother in a nursing home. We really enjoyed this unique tour. We saw parts of Chicago that we have not enjoyed before. We learned much. And, of course, we enjoyed tasty samples. We learned about, blintzes, teas, oils, vinegars, spices, chocolates, and spinach pizza. It was a lively quick paced tour. That's a good thing. A great walk on a beautiful day! We had a great time! I emailed some of the sites offering coupons. TeaGschwendner, The Spice House, and Old Town Oil say they will honor their coupons. Ethel's chocolate lounge will not. The Fudge Pot website was down.
