Fun and informative tour

As it was my first time in Chicago, this walking and food tour was useful for learning more about Chicago's diverse neighbourhoods, famous people and tasty treats. My tour guide Nicki was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the city. I highly recommend this tour at the start of your visit in Chicago. --PG

The overall tour was very factual and the information on the archetectural history and the info on the various neighborhoods was great. As for myself and the friend with myself, little diappointed in the "sampling" itself. The spice house and the presentation by the owner was very informative. The additional information on the other restaurants in the area was also great information for future trips to the city. It was an overall good tour.

Our guide (Shane) was terrific - very knowledgable and enthusiastic and had great relationships with the venues on the tour. He even raced down to the El from the last stop because I'd forgotten my camera in Ethel's. I really appreciated that! We were incredibly lucky and there were only three guests - a friend and I and a lovely young woman from Australia - on our particular tour. Because of this, there was much more interaction between Shane and the three of us than there probably is normally. I'd go back and do it again in a flash! The food was great too - especially the pizza at Bacino's.

Hot but Delicious

My daughter, sister, and I very much enjoyed the food tour. All the stops provided good food and the guide Shane enlightened us about all the history of the structures and neighborhoods we visited. We saw neighborhoods that we would not have otherwise visited. I now plan to order from some of the stores merchandise for myself and for Christmas gifts. The only drawback was that it was the hottest day of the year!

Unique way to see different Chicago neighborhoods!

The Chicago Food tour was a fun way to see some Chicago neighborhoods that I probably wouldn't have gotten to on my own. Our guide, Shane, was very dynamic and kept my interest throughout the entire 3 hour tour. The food tastings were great, but sometimes it felt that the stops were being made to give business to the merchants. I would have liked to hear a little more history about the areas we were visiting too. All in all, a fun way to spend an afternoon - and I was definitely full by the end - and had learned something too!

My daughter and I were in Chicago for a family wedding. I was raised in Chicago and now live in California, She was raised in California and now lives in Texas. I organized this tour for 5 people including my mother, sister and niece. I can say we all thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food tastings were great. Who doesn't like chocolate and pizza? Our guide ,Shane was informative, enthusiastic and oh, I should mention good looking. We would all take another tour with this company.

Great way to view a "different" side of Chicago
Fri, Aug 3, 07   11:00 AM shudach Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Everyone tours downtown Chicago, but if you want to see the "softer side", I would highly recommend the food tour. Our tour guide "Nicki" was great. She kept us going at a good pace, informed us of the neighborhoods we were in, pointed out different restaurants along the way, and spread out the food tastings in a way where you didn't eat everything all at once. The tour was so well organized, that we never had to wait for our tasting. The first stop, there were at least 50 potato pancakes individually wrapped, and waiting for us. When we reached the pizza place, again, three pizzas came out, the table was set, it was great. The food is not little tiny samplings either. We could hardly eat dinner, 5 hours later. We were given great coupons to use after the tour. We actually went back and took advantage of two of the stops on our tour. I would highly recommend this tour.

Good Way To Spend A Day

If you are tired of the ordinary, and seek something different, this is a great way to spend a few extra hours. It was great to be able to walk around and not feel lost. I got to see and experience places that I would never have gone to on my own. Our guide (Nikki) was wonderful, knowledgeable and very well informed. My only wish is that we could have experienced more exciting culinary delights. Be aware....there is no shopping allowed on this trip, do to the time limit.

We all enjoyed the variety of foods we ate and places we visited. It was so much fun to visit different neighborhoods of Chicago while enjoying various delicious eats. We went back and bought things from a couple places. Very fun and informative.

Great way to get a feel of Chicago!

The draw in the ad is the food, but our guide, Nicky, delivered a fun, fact=filled day. Our tour was more like 4 hours, so plan accordingly if you have plans after. The walking was broken up, but much more than 2-3 miles. I have a bad ankle, but was fine - it was the walk home which hurt. My fault, Nicky showed us transportation, but we wanted to go back and shop at a few shops we were introduced to. Just remember, as tempting as the olive oil is, it will be hard to get it back home by plane!! They have a web-site. Enjoy

My family and I were in Chicago visiting relatives and I convinced everyone to come along on this food tasting tour. It was wonderful and we all had a great time, even my 17 month old daughter! And our relatives, who have lived in Chicago their whole lives, were so glad that they went because it was something they would never have thought of doing by themselves. The food was great and there was A LOT of it, but we didnt feel so bad eating it all as we were walking it off. It was a really good time and very informational, just make sure you wear comfortable shoes...and pants :o)

I would highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting the Chicago area as well as for those living there. We returned to three of the 8 places to purchase items the next day. Our tour guide was very friendly and upbeat and very informed. I have already told several friends/relatives that the Food Tour is a must on their next visit to Chicago.

Nice treat!
Sun, Aug 5, 07   2:00 PM larpin Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Where else can you get culture, food, and fitness all at once? We had plenty of food left over for seconds and even thirds(for the ravenous) and a good tall drink early on in the tour to quench our thirst. We picked the 2:00 p.m. tour which turned out perfect because we had had a good breakfast earlier and were able to skip lunch altogether. Our guide was courteous and knowledgeable, providing us interesting tidbits of information not only on food, spices, oil and tea but on architecture, historical landmarks, and entertainers/stars in the area. Wear good WALKING shoes (no flimsy flip-flops!). Note to organizers: Don't change a thing!
