AMAZING!
Fri, Apr 9, 10   12:00 PM McReynolds Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
After my daughter's recommendation, my group (4) of friends decided to take this tour. We were not disappointed. From the reuben sandwich to the deep dish Chicago pizza we were entertained and educated. The portions are plentiful so do not eat before hand. Even though we were a group of ladies, I know my male friends would have loved this tour also. The architectural history alone was educational and informative. My daughter said it was the highlite of her weekend and now that our extended Windy City vacation is over, I can honestly say it ranks right up there with Oprah! Thank you Nikki (our guide) for creating a memory!

Nice Way to Learn about Unique Chicago Neighborhoo
Fri, Apr 9, 10   12:00 PM sdpcmpls Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My husband and I really enjoyed our afternoon on the Wicker Park/Bucktown tour. We love good food, and found some of the food disappointing (cold unremarkable pizza at Piece, boring pasta salad at the Goddess and Grocer) and some amazing (incredible falafel at Sultan's and the beer at Piece was excellent). So why did we love the tour anyway? It was a nice way to get an overview of a very dynamic neighborhood, the architectural part of the tour was interesting, and it was cool to get a sense of the tempo of Wicker Park by stopping in at the different food places. I don't normally taste my way around a neighborhood to that degree if I am visiting a city. Our guide was passionate and fun to be with, and the people on the tour shared a love of food and exploration, so that was a plus, too.

I decided to take the Bucktown/Wicker Park food tour and it was the highlight of my trip. It got me "off the beaten path" and the food tastings were great!

Excellent introduction to the city of Chicago

We enjoyed our walking tour and information provided by our tour guide. All of the businesses we visited were friendly and appreciated our interest. We returned to the area twice to shop at the food tour stops and had dinner at a local restaurant recommended by the tour. We would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in learning about the neighborhoods of Chicago.

For a birthday present for my son, we took the tasting tour as we are both "food people". The variety of tasting options and locations were great and we also enjoyed the historical aspects of the tour as well, even though we are from the state of Georgia. We would highly recommend this tour as the food and the tour guide were both excellent.

Californians taste Chicago
Fri, Apr 9, 10   11:00 AM janet4352 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Great walk about! The varieties of foods, experiences was excellent and very enlightening too. Everything from a pastrami sandwich, tea tasting, spice smelling, candy shop drooling and the best stuffed piazza ever. It all was good and the tour was well balanced too between the types of foods and the tasting locations. It wasn't over fill but we were full and loved getting to know different interesting facts about not just the food but Chicago as well. Kent was an excellent enthusiastic guide.

This is the first food tour I have done. It was fabulous! Kent was our tour guide and he did a great job. I enjoyed each of the stops on the trip. I also want to mention the handout we got for the tour - wonderful! Thank you Chicago Food Planet for a great birthday!

Perfect for Foodies!!

We had an absolute blast on the tour. It was not too much walking, not too much food--just right! Our guide was great, and we got to see a lot of the "real" Chicago. We took the website's advice to attend early in our trip, and it really paid off because we ended up going back to three of the places on our own! Highly, highly recommended to anyone who loves not only to eat food, but learn about it, and appreciate it.

The last stop at Bacino's Pizza was great, but was a bit far to walk.

The weather could have been better but the tour was great. The guide was knowledgable and fun. The stops were varied and tasty and the walk in the neighborhoods was interesting. It provided a nice way to see the city that I have not done before. I would and have recommended this tour to others and intend to take the other tour offered.

Great tour that highlights unique local shops. Enjoyed the cultural and architectural aspect also. Guide was knowledgeable, entertaining, and prepared. My wife and I went back and retraced our steps the next day before we had to fly home.

Our family group consisting of ourselves from the northwest and our daughter with her husband who live in Chicago. It was a great tour, our leader , I think his name was Kent ,was perfect! His knowledge was wide and encompassing and the amount of food handed out was extremely generous and of course very tasty all in all I could recommend the tour and ask for Kent.

Fun for suburbanites too!
Wed, Apr 7, 10   11:30 AM chase003 Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
I have lived in the suburbs for almost 4 years. When my friends come to visit, I try to find different things for us to do each time they come. We have done most of the touristy things downtown already, so it was refreshing to see activities that focus on Chicago neighborhoods--and food! It was just the right amount of tastings, walking, and cultural history. I highly recommend the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour, and I look forward to trying more tours in the future.

Amazing, Awesome, Another Tour Please!!!
Wed, Apr 7, 10   11:30 AM huggints Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
This was my first ever food tour and our guide, Kent, was truly amazing. He added humor to the tour and made everyone feel welcome. I must say that immediately after the tour, I ran back to my hotel and looked for more tours in other cities. When I return to Chicago, I will definitely encourage my friends to join me on this tour or venture out and attend the North Chicago tour. Oh and the food was also amazing!
