The food we sampled was terrific and we'll go to some of the places again. In fact my daughter who lives in Chicago already has. I wish there would have been more walking and information about the area but we had a great time. We've taken both food tours and liked them both. I would highly recommend either tour to tourists in Chicago. |

Every facet of our tour was perfect - our guide (Chris), the fabulous and varied selection of shops we visited, even the weather! I wouldn't change a thing. This was a great way to be introduced to local stores and neighborhoods that are off the beaten tourist path and we wouldn't have become aware of otherwise. After our tour, we re-visited four of the stops to make purchases (and took advantage of the great tour coupons). Thank you for a wonderful time! |

We had an excellent time on our tour. Would definitely recommend it to any and everyone. Do it at the beginning of your trip so you know more about the city and can go back to the various stops and restaurants. Great tour. |

My wife and I were in Chicago celebrating our 10 year anniversary and wanted to take this tour. It was wonderful! We enjoyed the food and tastings as well as the people we were with on the tour. Everyone was nice and friendly. We enjoyed walking in the different neighborhoods, areas that we would have not visited otherwise. Rebecca, our tour guide, did a great job and was very informative about the history on the things we were learning about and the neighborhoods we walked in. We had our baby with us on our trip, due to my wife nursing, and the tour worked out just fine having her and the stroller along. We would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to visit Chicago and do something fun and unique...The Fudge Pot and the Ashkenaz Deli were our favorites! |

George's Hot Dog - Good
Hot Chocolate - loved the homemade marshmallow and good drink
Goddess Deli - it's a very cute place, BUT the food provided during the tour was extremely unimpressive and boring (not very good)
Piece - loved the ambiance, good pizza and beer
Sultan Market - i was too full to eat this there, but when I took it back to my hotel and had it for dinner -- it was really good; enjoyed this
iCream - very different and enjoyed this very much
tour guide - extremely knowledgeable; good tour guide
history - interesting facts |

After experiencing this tour first hand I would recommend it to everyone visiting Chicago. As you walk through the neighborhoods not only do you get to taste amazing food, but you get a real sense of what Chicago has to offer. My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed this tour and we would definitely do it agian!!! |

Once you've been to the standard tourist attractions (John Hancock, Sears Tower, Shedd, Field, Navy Pier, etc.) this is a great way to see Chicago. We had a beautiful day and a great tour guide. I really liked most of the locations, but would rather do more "food" and less of skip the condiment and beverage only sites. Those were interesting, but enjoyed the actual food better. |

Great tour with wonderful tour guide--Nicki. Have taken lots of tours and if guide is not good, no matter the tour, it is not great. Good stops. Wish had spoken more about architecture and history. Can't shop on tour--understand too time consuming but hard to go back when most tourists only there for short time. Would use internet but coupons no good. Would be better if coupons could be used on internet. Fudge stop the worst--good taste but no demo by owner or anyone. Best stops were balsamic/oil and spice cause most informative . Shame not using oil backspace for anything---maybe taste with balsamic on food? Caprese salad with choice of balsamic? Aware $$ would go up but that is OK. Maybe rice pudding with different cinnamons ? Pizza great taste as well as deli and pastry shop. |

was in chicago w/my 18yr old grandson to celebrate his high school graduation. He does watch the cooking channel some, and my sister had taken the tour a couple of years and enjoyed the tour. we had a great time and my grandson enjoyed all the stores - even if he didn't want to taste the oil and vinegars, he did enjoy the education and extra information. it also was wonderful hearing about the neighorhoods and how they have evolved. a wonderful way to experience the city and its cultures. |

My wife and I were very interested in the Food Tour as we liked the idea of walking the neighborhoods in Chicago and trying the local fare. We were both very impressed with our guide Hilary, who was also an architectural tour guide in the city. She was very thoughtful, energetic and gave a great running narrative of the neighborhood as we went about our tour. Our stops included a great deli, deep dish pizzeria, bakery, chocolatier. In addition, we stopped at an excellent spice market, an olive oil specialty store and finally a tea cafe. Every stop was unique and each proprietor was well prepared for us with both tastings and a narrative about their business and products. Overall, it was an excellent three hours and we would highly recommend it to anyone who thinks they might be interested. And again, our guide was very good and really made the tour outstanding. |

My husband and I have visited Chicago many times and had done segways, bike tours and boat trips so we wanted to try something a little different. Found Chicago Food Planet tours thru Trip Advisor and we're so glad we did! We were met on time by Rebecca who had a very engaging personality and was very knowledgable about food and Chicago. The tour featured 7 food tastings stops all varied and very different from each other. We started with a Reuben sandwich at Ashkenaz Deli, iced tea at Tea Gschwender, a tour of the Spice House, Old Town Oil. One of our favorite stops was the Fudge Pot in Old Town (samples to die for), then onto Delightful Pastries and then the best pizza ever at Bacino's!! Long walk back to our hotel but that was our choice and it was good to walk off all the wonderful food we tried. |
