We could not have been more pleased with this event. Jessie was the perfect guide - her knowledge and genuine love for the city was enlightening and enjoyable. The food was awesome, and the shopping after the tour was a blast!

Tour was decent, although I felt it was a bit overpriced. I have done similar tours in NYC for the same cost and those were better (both in food selection and guide knowledge). I do feel, however, that this tour exposed me to a part of Chicago I never would have went to otherwise, so that was great.

It was awesome to see Chicago (something other than the Mag Mile)!! Something totally different and provided culture. Not tacky in any way and very interesting and worth the money. Our guide Jessie was very well spoken and had lots of info for us as well as great recommendations.

I went with a girlfriend of mine and we both enjoyed the entire experience! The food was outstanding and the walk through the neighborhood and "history" lesson made it even more fun! Great hostess! I will return for the other tour on my next visit to Chicago with my husband!

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

Jennifer who did our tour was so engaging, enthusiastic, and totally committed to the group to have a great experience. The stops were great and I learned so much, but the best part for me was really seeing and learning about the neighborhoods. It helped that we had terrific weather! But the background, knowledge, and experience she had really helped her presentation of all information. Thank goodness the shop owners encourage this type of thing, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone either local to Chicago or from another area. My son would now like to move to Chicago since he experienced these nice neighborhoods outside of downtown! THANKS--Amy & Justin from Ohio

Wish more communities had this tour....

This tour was taken by our family composed of our adult children and spouses and one grandchild (1 year old) to celebrate a birthday. It was a rainy, cold day in Chicago and we were hesitant about walking around in poor weather. From the start at George's hot dog stand, we were excited to hear about the food and the town. Carrie did a great job telling location history, chef's background, interesting food facts, and local architecture. It became a fun adventure and one we will always remember. But a warning....there is soooo much food....take it easy to get it all in! Well worth the cost and the time.

Go on an Empty Stomach!

Fantastic tour of Wicker Park./Bucktown. Great food, great tour guide (Carrie). The food was excellent. Our group was so full by the end of the tour, so be sure to go on an empty stomach as there is more than enough food for a meal. Also a very informative walking tour of the neighbourhood and architectural sites. Highly reccommended.

You will need comfortable shoes and be able to walk about 3 miles (1.5 on the tour and 1.5 back to buy all the great eats! Our guide was interesting and we learned about buildings, people, and some history. The variety of places were great - candy, spices, oils, pizza, deli!

My husband and I learned about this Chicago Food Planet experience from info about things to do in Chicago. It sounded like "our kind of fun." We chose the Wicker Park walk because the foods to be sampled were more to our liking and it seemed a bit "off the beaten path" as well. We knew when we made our reservations that it was a GO, rain or shine! We planned accordingly when we packed for our trip. Ben was an enthusiastic, well-informed guide, and we learned a lot. The peaceful walk through the Wicker Park neighborhood was relaxing. We loved the charmingly renovated old homes. All along the way, we sampled delicious food while we learned about each place. The love and pride of all the owners was evident. My favorite foodstop was "Piece" where we had a large slice of white pizza and a glass of their site-brewed beer. My husband, of course, loved the "I Cream" shop. There was lots of food (we took leftovers), and a great time was had by all!

Very interesting way to see a Chicago neighborhood. There is enough food for lunch and dinner ( almost everyone took something home). Watch out for the hot pepper on the hot dog. The pizza/brew pub was my favorite, but the unique ice cream was a close second. The homes around Wicker Park are worth the visit even if you don't like to eat.

My wife and I enjoyed this tour immensely. Nicki was a great guide, very informative and personal. The places we went to were diverse and fun. And of course all the tastings were great! It was a good walk and we both liked seeing parts of Chicago we had never seen before. Sadly, we didn't have enough time to go back to some of the shops and make purchases but next time we visit Chicago we will go straight to them. This tour is such a fun thing to do that really shows what Chicago is all about.

Our guide, Niki, was wonderful! This is the best way to get inside the neighborhoods and learn about the history and architecture while tasting local foods. We highly recommend this tour!

We had a great time and discovered some places that we never would have discovered on our own. In spite of some misty rain, the tour was excellent. The amount of walking was totally do-able, though a shuttle to the starting point (backtracking the way we came, in case people wanted to get off to do some shopping) sure seems like a good idea!

The was a wonderful experience to leisurely walk around the neighborhoods and taste some awesome, delicious foods and learn some history of the area. The i cream and hot chocolate, the pizza, the wraps well just all of the stops were a taste treat. Will do it again when friends come to visit. What a fun way to spend 3 hours out of your day in touring and tasting in Chicago neighborhoods.
