Very fun, Imformative and NOT your mama's tour!
Thu, Sep 10  11:00 AM karenannrich Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Unspecified
I loved this twist on a historical, archetectual, cultural tour. The combination of different types of info, the food and the information about food and cooking thrown in created a unique and most informative tour. The walk was well-paced and not too long. I am now planning a trip to New York and looking for one there. I would recommend this highly.

Tour took 4 hrs rather than 3hrs but it was worth it. Highly recommend tour guide Jennifer, as she was fun and enthusiastic. Don't eat a breakfast prior to the tour. The shop owners are generous in their samples and are very welcoming. Wear good walking shoes.

I enjoyed the history of the area and had fun tasting all of the various foods. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgable. The people working in the shops provided interesting information on their products.

I would recommend this tour to anyone but esp to out of towners. You really get a bird's eye view of our fantastic city and all it has to offer. Your selection of venues had a nice diversity, good food, and websites to visit to purchase items. Thanks, Jennifer, for a great time. Your love of Chicago and its offerings is very evident.

Great Day in Chicago

My first trip to Chicago, can't wait to go back. I was glad I found BWP Food Tasting Tour. What a great time I had touring and eating. The guide was very informative about the area. The food was entirely too much, but I seem to totally enjoy all of it especially the pizza and icream. The experience was low keyed and very relaxing, walking around the neighborhood, with a small group of people checking out the Bucktown community. Great place to visit.

The food was great, the walk...a bit boring...

The food was great. No complaints. And it was plenty. The walking around the neighborhood was fine, until we stopped to see a bunch of housed that in my opinion, did not need as much explanation. That part dragged a little bit. But otherwise, great experience.

Jenny was Great!

We loved the details of the tour; Jenny provided fun facts, history, and information about each individual community. She is full of passion for the city and the local shop owners that we immediately fell in love with Chicago all over again. The shop choices were fabulous and a great variety, which we are sure to revisit again on our next visits. We enjoyed the entire tour and expect to schedule with this tour company again with friends and at the different locations. Thank you much! Theresa & Joseph Golubski

Great tour that surprised me

This was a great tour. It started out with a sandwich at a great Jewish deli, then went to a great tea shop where we got an education about tea and left wondering why coffee is so predominant in the U.S. when tea is the #1 beverage everywhere else in the world. Then it was off to the Spice House which will be getting internet business from me. I've never seen a better selection of organic, fresh spices. Then next door to Old Town Oil, which was my favorite stop. We did an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting...don't knock it! We left with a bottle of the best olive oil I've ever tasted and will be ordering the 18 year aged balsamic! Then it was off to the Fudge Pot--yeah, chocolate! Then to a catering and chocolate place, then ending up at Bacino's Pizza for authentic Chicago stuffed crust pan pizza. It was a wonderful and surprisingly educational tour. Highly recommended.

Great Way to Spend Time in Chicago
Tue, Sep 8  11:30 AM GloriaKamins Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
This was a great tour of the Wicker Park/Bucktown area. It was very informative and Kent Seaver was very personable, interesting, and knowledgeable of the area and the places we visited. The food was terrific and definitely enough to not only keep you going during the tour but enough to fill you for the day. It was just the right combination of walking and sitting so as not to exhaust anyone. I have already recommended it to friends who I know visit Chicago occasionally. We are from Florida but my daughter lives in Chicago and I have told her about it as well. Great tour and great tour guide!

Great way to see parts of Chicago
Tue, Sep 8  11:00 AM boomcool Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My boyfriend and I decided to head to Chicago for a get-away from NC. I noticed a lot of good reviews for the two food tours this particular company does, and decided to get tickets on a day we had nothing planned. It turned out to be a fun experience, and we got to see/eat at places we probably wouldn't have gone to on our own. Our tour guide was knowledgable, and the places we stopped were all great in their own respect! Would definately recommend it to others!

Very good tour

The best part of the tour was our guide, Carolyn. She shared a lot of architectural information along the way, which helped our long walk go by faster. I would not recommend the catering and chocolate place, though. And I wish there were more stops on the way from the oil stop to the pizza stop, too long!

My wife and I had a great time on the food tour. The guide was delightful. The 7 food stops were excellent choices - places that we would not otherwise have discovered. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed this walking and cultural tour. Our tour guide, Nikki, was warm, friendly and knowledgeable - she made the tour all the more interesting. I have recommended this tour to all my friends and look forward to doing the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour next time!

Great Experience for Chicago Visitor
Sun, Sep 6  12:00 PM jrichards Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
This was a very worthwhile experience. The amount of walking was reasonable, unexpected information about the city and the neighborhoods was well received, and the guide was very enthusiatic and capable. My one criticism, and not a major one, is that the promotion of the sights visited needs to be toned down. The tour itself promotes the locations visited, and talking about coming back to patronize the merchants is unnecessary and distracting.

We loved it!

This was a great activity -- so much fun and so informative. We discovered some great places to dine and to shop for food in Chicago, and we learned a lot about various things. Our two favorite stops on the trip were the olive oil shop (incredible!! Be sure to try the 18-yr-old balsamic vinegar) and the spice shop (fabulous blends). We can't wait to take the other food tour.
