We thoroughly enjoyed the food tour! What surprised us is how much we learned about each establishment we visited, as well as the neighborhoods we walked thru. Everything we sampled was good, but I disliked the pizza at Bacinos'. It was way salty to me & there are so many other pizza places to choose from. We walked way further than necessary to get to that last stop. I'd recommend maybe another pizza place or perhaps a place like Mitchell's for a specialty item. It's a great way to learn about different places in our city. I'm sure the out of towners really enjoyed it. I already have told friends to give it a try. It's also a bit pricey to me, especially since we had to pay about $10 more for a cab back & parking. Can't they suggest an inexpensive parking lot? Just thought I'd mention that. Thanks for a nice tour. . . our guide was fun & very knowledgeable. What about one for the suburban areas? |

This well organized tour was informative and entertaining. The tastings were both delicious and filling, my favorite was Hot Chocolate and iCream. The guide, Nicole, was friendly, outgoing and a wealth of information. I recommend this tour as it is a great introduction to a neat neighborhood. Will definately revisit both these 'hoods on my next visit to Chicago. Hopefully there will be tours in other neighborhoods too. |

Jess was such a fantastic tour guide and very knowledgeable about Bucktown and Wicker Park. I loved the unique combination of history/architecture in combination with the food tastings. Great food choices. I actually chose this tour vs the other River North one because I had read about the foods that were served and thought the "menu" was better. I've already told everyone I know about doing this tour when they are in Chicago. Can't wait to see if the list of tours expands for the next time we're in town! |

Tour length in physical distance - perfect
tour length in time.- would have liked 5 more minutes at each of the following stops:
tea shop w/ also a taste of one flavored tea.; spice shop, oil & vinegar shop.
perhaps a place for sitting and a cold drink about 2/3rds of way through.
Tour guide, Heide was excellent |

We have visited Chicago many times over the years and thought we had seen and done much of what Chicago has to offer. However, until we did the food tour I can honestly say we had missed one of Chicago's great treasures. The food tour was so much fun. Our guide, Hillary, was very knowledgeable and made our excursion really enjoyable. I am so glad we did the tour on Saturday so that we had time to go back and shop on Sunday! As other reviewers have commented, there was plenty of tasty food offered along the way so my group felt very satisfied at the end of the tour. Our daughter has lived in Lincoln Park for over two years and she found the tour to be as delightful as those of us out of town folks. I would highly recommend this activity to those visiting Chicago for the first time, or to those who have visited many times but have not taken the opportunity to do the tour. It was fantastic. |

Knowledgeable and friendly tour guide - lots of information on the area and its history.
Background of selected restaurants/food offerings are shared.
Substantial amounts of "tastings" are provided - any food allergies are taken into consideration and alternate choices are provided.
I enjoyed the tour, and have recommended it to several people. |

The tour guide was amazing - professional, funny, and knowledgable! The tour ran like a well oiled machine - they have it down! This was the perfect way to spend a few hours (particularly since I was alone in Chicago and wanted to visit these neighborhoods anyway)! The whole group was very pleased with the value - high quality from the food to the tour, which included architecture and history as well as the stories behind each of the eateries that we visited - and we left with very full stomachs to boot! Highly recommended! |

My friend and I really enjoyed this tour. It allowed us not only the chance to sample great food, but to explore Chicago neighborhoods we would have never known about otherwise. Our tour guide was extremely informative and knowledgeable. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!!! |

I would recommend the Bucktown/Wicker Park Tour. The distance was short enough that you did not get tired out from walking but was packed with interesting information about the neighborhoods. The food tasting was electic and enjoyable. We went back after the tour to a couple of the establishments and bought their products! The quide was knowledgable and entertaining. We had a great time!! |

My boyfriend and I are enthusiastic foodies, and we basically planned our Chicago trip around food. So to find there was a food tour--perfect!
What makes the Wicker Park/Bucktown Food Tour so good is that it's unpretentious. It's everyday food done well. I am a vegetarian, so I didn't eat the hotdog, but a Chicago dog comes with so many toppings I still had something to eat. All the other places were veggie friendly. I also learned a whole lot about the architecture.\
Our tour guide was great. She was funny and well-informed. I'd never gone on a tour before without my parents, and I only wish I knew to have cash to tip. I felt like a tremendous jerk at the end of the tour. She 100% deserved a great tip. |

My friend and I really enjoyed the tour. It was fun to see the old mansions in Wicker Park and learn the history. We also enjoyed seeing much of the community and getting a sense of that part of Chicago. The food was excellent....although more than we needed. I will go back to some of the restaurants. This is definitely an adult activity. What I liked is that there was no shopping on the tour. You are encouraged to return if you want to buy something. That made it even more pleasant. |

INDIANA BUCKTOWNER LOVED CHICAGO BUCKTOWN TOUR

I am from a small town in Indiana called Thorntown and our nickname is Bucktown so we are known as Bucktowners. When I saw the add for the Food Tour of Bucktown, an area I was not familiar with in Chicago I knew I had to book it. I am a frequent visitor to Chicago (every 3 or 4 months) and often bring friends and family along who have never been. While I enjoy showing them some of my favorite Chicago food spots (Frontera Grill, Orzo's, Billy Goat Tavern) and revisiting some of my favorite educational/fun spots (Second City, First Lady Architectural Tour, and Lincoln Park Zoo), I always try to add one new activity for me. This visit it was The Food Tour In Bucktown/Wicker Park. It was a perfect mixture of food, fun, and education (perfect for the single, foodie, literature and history teacher that I am) and my sister loved it too! I would have loved to linger longer at each spot and share more points of interest with the other group members and local patrons or owners, but at 3 1/2 hours it was well worth the money for the time spent. The tour guide was friendly, well versed in facts, and had a genuine love of the people and places in the area. I wish there was an all day and night tour and then we could have visited some of the other great spots highlighted. This will now be added to my list of favorite food, fun and educational spots that I will revisit with friends and family when I return to town. |
