FOUND THE TRIP INTERESTING. GUIDE WAS WELL INFORMED AND PERSONABLE. THOUGHT IT WAS LONGER THAN THE TWO MILES EXPECTED AND ALSO THE FACT IT LASTED MORE THAN THREE HOURS.

Takes you places you would otherwise miss out on.

The places chosen to visit and discuss were places I would have otherwise missed out on. The perspective came from a person who lives in the city of Chicago. This in turn made me feel like I was at home rather than a visitor. My brother and I loved the experience and would definately check it out again. We went back to 3 of the locations the day after to make purchases. The whole concept is great. Thank you.

Lots of walking, not much eating

We found the walk and information about Chicago interesting, but there were long stretches with little food. We thoroughly enjoyed the spice and oil shops, but they could not be viewed as a food stop. By the end of the tour we were ready to go find lunch, unlike tours we took in New York and San Francisco which provided interesting food as well as interesting information.

Excellent tour; highly recommended

The Chicago Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour provided an excellent opportunity for my family and me to visit a number of eateries, food shops, and other culinary establishments we hadn't a hope of discovering otherwise. The samples provided were thankfully just enough to satisfy without stuffing, as the temptation toward the latter would have certainly otherwise been there. Our tour guide, Nikki, was well-informed and enthusiastic; the walking pace was briskly pleasant. I recommend this trip as a great means of familiarizing oneself with the Old Town and Lincoln Park boroughs during one's first few days in town, or simply as an opportunity to sample some of the finest food Chicago has to offer.

Fantastic experience

Myself and my two friends had a great time! We learned interesting information about the areas and enjoyed the food tastings. We would have liked to have visited a bread shop but enjoyed all of our tastings very much. Our tour guide, Sean, made our experience even more enjoyable. Very up beat and fun.

This is one of the best things we've done. We got exercise and had great food. It was wonderful to do a walking tour of Chicago - you see so much. Also, our guide was the best. He was funny and he really knew the area and the specialties in the shops and restaurants. My only complaint would be that we had no opportunity to buy anything. We will probaby go back to our favorite places. I've recommended this tour to everyone I've talked to.

I absolutely recommend this tour. Our guide, Nicki, was fun, well-informed, and enthusiastic, and the places we stopped to eat were all really interesting, not to mention offering delicious food. It was a great way to learn about other neighborhoods that are somewhat off the beaten track. I might recommend having only one chocolate stop, but other than that, you can't miss with this tour.

A great way to spend 3 hours

I took my parents, who were visiting from Florida, on the Chicago Food Tasting & Cultural Walking Tour. We met just off crowded Michigan Avenue, but quickly made our way into the quieter, less touristy neighborhoods. My parents were charmed by the tree-lined streets of the Gold Coast and Lincoln Park Neighborhoods. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and told us not only about the foods we were eating, but the history of the neighborhoods we were visiting as well. The food samples were larger than I had anticipated and I ended the tour 3 hours later on a fairly full stomach. I recommend this tour to anyone who has seen Chicago's main tourist attractions and would like to see something new.

too much chocolate and spices

We loved the walking part of the tour and the location, but we feel that the tasting part was short. If we had allowed it to be lunch, we would have starved...Spices, oil and vinegar, and chocolate are not what we expected, tho interesting. A bit more explanation of the areas would be good too. It covered a wonderful section of Chicago and that was great!

Great snapshot of a slice of Chicago

Interaction with the other group members made this event very special and personal. Tasty treats and historical tidbits while seeing Chicago up-close made this event great for out-of- towners. My favorite was Old Town Oils. I had to go back a few days later and buy the strawberry balsamic vinegar; it was so delicious! My French relatives really enjoyed the day.

need to shop

I am a local downtown Chicago and can go back to the stores. Most people in our group were not local and would of liked to shop at the stores. Maybe fewer stops or closer shops so time to shop. Very nice tour and guide. We had 9 in our tour which I thought ideal. Maybe raise price and have fewer people then time to shop.

I have enthusiastically recommended this tour to my friends. It is a perfect birthday/anniversary etc gift. A fun AND educational experience. We were fortunate in that the weather was ideal and the guide excellent. A great way to spend the better part of a day.

We had a wonderful time. The walk was easy and we were able to stroll along. I only wish we could have spent more time in each of the stores since they were all wonderful! LOVED the Spice place!
