The tour was very einjoyable, informative and fun. We found places we did not know existed and we have been coming to Chicago for over 20 years. The pace and the food/ drinks provided was nicely spaced and delicious. Would highly recommed this tour to see areas of the city and new places to eat.

Fun walking tour. Learned a lot about the history of the area. Guide was great. Went back to stores on the tour and purchased items. ( tea , olive oil, spices, chocolate ) Would recommend doing the tour first if new to the area. Gave us good ideas for future trips.

Best part of our Chicago trip

We had 17 people in our group for the Chicago Food Tasting & Cultural Walking Tour. At first, I thought that was too much, but as it turned out, was no problem at all. Tad was our guide and he did a great job in providing information about restaurants as well as other interesting tidbits about Chicago. Our three-hour tour lasted almost 4 hours. Quite frankly, I wanted more. I was sad when it was over. There were a good mix of stops, however, a little too much chocolate for my liking. The tour starts at Ghirardelli where we were given some chocolate samplings. Then hits a fudge factory about half-way through, and then ends at another chocolate shop (Ethel's). Even though we had 17 people on our tour, there was plenty of food for everyone to have seconds and thirds of each sampling. The second to last stop was at a local pizza restaurant where there was enough pizza for everyone - and then some! We had a lot left over. This was a thoroughly enjoyable tour. We walked about 3 miles in all - a fairly easy stroll. In the future I would like to see this tour extended to cover more of Chicago. A 5 or 6 hour tour covering 5+ miles with about 12 stops would be ideal! Why? Because when the tour was over it left us all wanting more.

The overall tour was very factual and the information on the archetectural history and the info on the various neighborhoods was great. As for myself and the friend with myself, little diappointed in the "sampling" itself. The spice house and the presentation by the owner was very informative. The additional information on the other restaurants in the area was also great information for future trips to the city. It was an overall good tour.

We found this on the Chicago website and thought it would be fun. We went for a girls weekend and it was our favorite thing we did. Our host for the walk was a young man named Tad who we just loved. He was very nice and very knowledgeable. We thought there was alot more walking than we had theard and that was hard since we had our mom with us who is 72. The shops were fantastic. We really enjoyed the spice shop and went back there after the tour. They should add the Oil shop right next door as we loved it too.

We had so much fun on this tour and experienced a great sampling of what Chicago has to offer. I had chaperoned a school field trip that took the food tour earlier in the spring and thought it would be a great opportunity to show my mother, aunt, and cousin around Chicago. This tour is great for anyone who is unfamiliar with the city or who lives around the city and wants a new way to experience the food and history of some of the best parts of Chicago. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone. Both of the tour guides that I have seen were extremely friendly and made the 3 hours fun and entertaining. I can't say enough good things- what a treat!

My sister and I enjoyed every minute of the tour. We have been to Chicago several times but this is the first for a tour. We were pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had, the knowledge of the guide (Shane) and the amount of food. We were full!!! I never thought we would say we had too much chocolate but we did---our own fault. We would highly recommend this to everyone. Shane was a personable guide and it made for a very pleasant afternoon.

We enjoyed the tour - it was an interesting way to see inside some of the neighborhoods in Chicago and sample some food from popular shops/restaurants within those neighborhoods. The tour guide highlighted some of the architecture and landmarks as we walked each neighborhood. Alot of fun and a great way to see the city from a different perspective.

My wife and I enjoyed the walking and food tasting tour very much. The tour guide was very knowledgeable . The length of the tour was about right and not too long. We did walk back to our starting point, but probably should have gotten a cab, as we were tired when we got back to our car. I would recomend this tour.

Tad, our guide, met us promptly at 11:45. He was a very personable young man and I knew right from the start that he was knowledgeable about the city. The tour began at 11:00am and lasted until approximately 2:30pm. All of the food stops and historical/architecture lessons were great....although our entire group was from the Chicago Suburbs, we all learned and saw so much about the city of Chicago that we never knew! It is a lot of walking so you need to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

My uncle was visiting me for a few days and I stumbled across this tour online. We booked it and had a wonderful time. Nikki was our tour guide and she was awesome. Definitely make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes. I have already told other locals about the tour and I am hoping the company will add a couple other different food tours in the near future!
