| Our group truly enjoyed this cultural tour of the city, including the food. Even with the unbearable heat and humidity, the tour guide made our trip very comfortable. Water at every stop, including tastes of the area. This is a great experience for persons unfamiliar with the neighborhoods of Chicago, the "off the beaten path" so to speak. Being a native to the area, I still enjoy a day downtown. Our group for a local college, which included persons with disabilities learned a lot in the short time we were together. Not to mention the experience of traveling, time management and manners in the places of business. Great learning experience for our students. | It was more of a walking tour than expected. But not one to be regretted as I learned far more than expected. Places to eat on future trips and how and why the areas of the city were called what they are. But, the food was a disappointment. On a very hot day fluids are most important, but on a cooler day more food would have been nicer. Chocolate tastes are of interest but not filling.! | ||||||

| My husband and I enjoyed the tour very much. Our guide was very knowledgeable about everywhere we went and had a lot of information on just about everything. (Shane you're awesome!) The only thing we could have used was a map of the area we toured so that when we went back to shop later we would have had more of a feel where we were going. I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys tasting a variety of foods. We would have never visited any of these places or found out about others without this tour. It really gave us a chance to see other areas of the city. Thanks again, it was great. Peggy | ||||||

| The walking and sightseeing tour was wonderful, but were'n't we promised food? Tasting a couple of chocolates doesn't consist of eating. I was hungry at the end of the tour. The name of the tour is deceiving. | ||||||

| I learned more in the four hours of the tour about food, architecture, Chicago history and trivia than I have learned on other tours. The guide was excellent; the group was very friendly. A walking tour is the best way to see up closely and slowly enough an appealing area of Chicago. I couldn't believe how far I had walked. And I am 67. The tour was four hours, not 3 as advertised. But we needed four to experience what we did. | ||||||

| Come hungry, there is a lot of food to eat while you tour Wicker Park and Bucktown. Not only do you get some good food, there is also a little history of the neighborhood as well. | ||||||

| As a foodie who is not familiar with Chicago this tour was terrific. I have found that walking tours and food oriented activities are a great way to learn the culture of an area - this one combined both. Our guide, Jen, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and totally in control - a real joy. She put on several of the demonstrations, answered all questions and was obviously loved by all in the neighborhoods. You knew that she enjoys what she does. I really learned alot about the Near Northside of Chicago and would recommend this tour. My favorites were the Spice Shop and the Oil and Vinegar Shop. I would have enjoyed it being longer with time to make purchases - the route was so long that it was difficult to get back to the Old Town area at the end of the day. | ||||||

| My husband recently had a conference in Chicago, and I tagged along. I was trying to figure out what I could do with myself in his absence never being there before. I came across Chicago Food Planet on Trip Advisor. Once I checked it out, I thought this would be great so I wouldn't be by myself and get a mini tour of the neighborhood (North Tour). My tour guide was great! Very friendly, personable and she did not over compensate her tour with acting which I've encountered before. We started on a Jewish Deli (my least fav) and continued onto a Tea Merchant that was reminiscent of days working at a coffee and tea shop. Next we did three stops in row The Spice House (Penzey's counterpart), Old Town Oil (my fav), and the Fudge Pot before heading of to a Catering Co. which was more designed to advertise to locals. A place I would come back to if local. Lastly Chicago Stuffed Crust Pizza. Awesome! The crust reminded me of a pie crust, but with gooey amounts of cheese and spinach. In all, my fav was being around the locals who were on the tour and learning the history of the neighborhoods. Especially found it interesting how new buildings that were taking on the deco look and fabricating moss on the building. Hmmm.....Next time I visit I'll take the other tour. Hope I get to come back soon. Thanks, Chicago Food Planet. Kristy Hess (Reno, NV) | ||||||

| I decieded to take this tour as part of a day and a half I had to visit Chicago and could not be happier. Jessica the tour guide was wonderful, full of lots of great information on food and the areas we were visiting. I retraced my steps back to the beginning and purchased items at most of the stops. I can honestly say I have been using the tea and spices I bought and am waiting for the oil and vinegar I ordered to arrive. I would reccomend this tour to anyone coming into Chicago. | ||||||

| I think the best part of the tour is a chance to visit local neighourbood and try local food where first time tourists would not usually do. The tours are well organized. They gave you maps showing the walking directions and information of transit information, so you could easily go back to visit the places yourself afterwards. You also get to go behind the scenes in some places which I found quite cool. Next time I am in Chicago I will definitely try their other tours or even take the same tour again. Thanks Julie! | ||||||
