| My boyfriend and I both loved the tour. He was a bit skeptical, but with in the first two stops he was having as much fun as I was. We are from a local suburb about 45 min. north, and we had never visited these shops, and are dieing to go back. After the tour was over, we walked back to 2 of the shops, (Spice House, and Tea Gschwender). Another favorite of ours was the Old Town Oil, balsamic vinegar and olive oil tasting, AMAZING! The only stop of the tour that both of us did not like, was called Catering Chocolate. Not that this store did not have its charms, but it was more of a catering business selling left overs than a shop that specialized in one item, (like the tea, spice, oil shops). It was the only store that we could not see ourselves going back to, both because of the high cost, and lack of enthusiasm from the owner. (Although the hummus and cheese where good.) I believe our tour leader was named Julie, or Jen, and she was great and very knowledgeable! Worth the money for a good day out in beautiful weather. | ||||||

| This was a truly unique expereince. After travelling to Chicago so many times, I thought I wouldn't learn much! I was wrong! There was so much history about the neighborhoods, not just the food! I was very impressed and think that it is a MUST when you go to Chicago! P.S. Wear good walking shoes! | ||||||

| We have done both Chicago Food Planet Tours and Bucktown/Wicker Park Tour takes a slight edge with bigger and better tastings. We were so full after hot dogs, iced hot chocolate (YUM!) deli salad, pizza and ice cream that we didn't need to eat dinner. We went back to Hot Chocolate two nights later for dessert. Both tours are fabulous, fun and informative and the time flies. Our guide was fun and because the group size is relatively small, its easy to visit with other tour participants. This is a five-star Chicago attraction! | ||||||

| This is much more than your average food tour. Not only do you get a taste of Chicago's culinary offerings, but a feel for the history and the pride of the people of the city of Chicago. Many members of our tour group stated that they really enjoyed everything about the tour and were particularly taken with the tea, spice and oil shops for their uniqueness. The food items provided for tasting were a well rounded assortment and plenty for my party. I believe all of us were especially impressed with our tour guide, Kate, who was not only knowledgeable and easy to talk to but friendly to one and all. She made the experience even more enjoyable. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get the true "flavor" of Chicago. | ||||||

| We enjoyed our walk with our friendly informative guide. We learned a bit about the history of the neighborhoods that we walked through and some of the houses we saw. We learned some neat facts about spices, tea, olive oil, the chocolate making process, etc. We met some interesting folks as we walked, and we saw some parts of Chicago that we might otherwise never have seen. We walked at a comfortable pace. The overall distance was reasonable, but we covered enough ground to see a good portion of a few different neighborhoods. Plus we sampled some delicious food along the way. By the time we were done we were definitely full. Highly recommended! | ||||||

| This food tour of downtown, Old Town & Lincoln Park was about so much more than food. Emily, our tour guide, enthralled us with stories about people and places in Chicago, pointing out various architecture styles that non-locals would never have noticed. The tour is a real value for the money. Only downside is out of the eight places visited, two were chocolate establishments - wish there had been one other ethnic food store instead. All in all, it was a marvelous day. | ||||||

| My husband and I enjoyed the tour. We also like to cook and the tour was informative about each tasting and the history of the city. Our guide was Emily and she was outstanding! I only wish we had time to purchase because we never made it back to the old part of town. I liked this tour because it was different and brought you in to another side of Chicago. | ||||||

| My brother and his family were out from California, and my family is from Wisconsin -- we had 3 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 children under 9. It was a great time ... our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a history on Chicago architecture as well as information on our foods tasted. It was an awesome time!! | ||||||

| We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and thought our guide, Shane, was knowledgable, enthusiastic, and a great ambassador for Chicago's food and history, It was nice to get off the Miracle Mile and see some of Chicago's neighborhoods and visit places that locals frequent. All the "tastings" were excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the "spice" store which was very unusual and to which we returned to after the tour to make purchases. If I had to complain about something, it would be that we went to too many "sweet" places - started at Ghirardelli Chocolates, had potato pancakes at a deli, sampled tea, visited the aforementioned Spice store, ate chocolate at a fudge/candy store, had fresh baked artisan bread, wonderful pizza, and ended up at a "chocolate lounge." I would have been happier with more savory food samples, but it's hard to complain about too much chocolate. I also liked the list they gave us of local restaurants to try, although I was surprised that Shane had no recommendations for a good place for Italian Beef sandwiches - seems like any foodie going to Chicago would want to know where to go for deep dish pizza, Chicago dawgs, steaks, and Italian beef sandwiches. All in all I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to do something a little different in Chicago and to have some good food and see some local neighborhoods, | ||||||

| I didn't know what to expect on this little tour, but being little is one of the reasons that I took it, we had 9 in our group. It was a mixed bunch, 2 sets of friends, mother & daughter, an individual [from the neighborhood], and and a couple. I really didn't think that I would end up getting full. I was wrong! there was plenty! The information, the stroll, and the food what a combination! | ||||||
