Our guide was really entertaininge. One recommendation is to provide a radio receiver and ear buds and have the guide speak into a microphone. There was alot of questions posed by the attendees and if you wern't next to the guide you didn't hear her response.

The food was a great slice of Chicago. The neighborhoods and architecture were lovely and the walk was easy. Have told several friends what fun we had. Thank you for a new look at Chicago.

The tour was great but the RAIN all day had an impact on the outcome. Couldn't do much of the walking part, and it really put a damper on the whole thing.

I'd heard that the walking tour in Old Town was fun, but I had a fantastic time just tasting generous portions of food, drinking tea, smelling the spices and tasting the olive oils and vinegars. Kent made our tour interesting by explaining little known facts about Chicago and Old Town--entertaining us for the whole three hours, which went very quickly. It made me want to try other Chicago food tours! Many thanks to Kent and all the wonderful vendors I met along the way, who were generous with their time and expertise--I enjoyed shopping in your stores and will definitely be back for more.

the food stops were quite good but the commentary provided by our guide was worth the price of the tour alone. will look forward to visiting a different neighborhood tour in the future.

Great Experience

Our food tour was terrific, and Jess was fabulous. We had gone on a food tour of NY, so we were really looking forward to this one. It met and exceeded our expectations. The choices of places were well done and provided a great overview of several products. I think the only one we were not so thrilled about was the bakery. It was just OK. We were amazed at the quantitiy of food at each tasting. In NY, it was really just a bite, but in Chicago it was a whole sandwich, a whole slice of pizza, lots of candy, etc. The information Jess shared about each place and the people that worked there was really informative. We also enjoyed the walk through the Gold Coast. Highly recommend this experience.

A fun way to see a neighborhood!

This tour combines my two favorite touring activities: strolling through neighborhoods to view its architecture and feel its essence AND indulging in my foodiness. The food was great and plentiful. The stories about the changing neighborhood were really interesting. And learning about how these foodies are making a name for themselves in the culinary world is icing on the cake/tour. Our guide was full of energy and loved talking about the neighborhood. ICream was the best. Great concept, great taste. Hope they spread to other cities.

Our guide was informative ,friendly, patient with a good sense of humor. The selection of food places in the tour was a good mix and pleasing to most people with a curious palette.

Chinatown was an experience I will cherish for a long time. When I think Chinese food the standard egg fu yung or chow mein comes to mind, but Hilliary stretched our pallets to the max with 3 Crowns and then the total opposite with the ultra spicy! I truly appreciated all of the knowledge she imparted. Her bright bouncy spirit certainly added to the walk. We have been on the near north trip twice and this trip was as informative and yummy as the other! I would definitely recommend this trip.

Food was great but my favorite aspect of the tour was our leader Hillary! She "fleshed" it all out and made the tour a meaningful learning experience.

When I thought of a food tour, I pictured over- eating of fatty foods. Instead we encountered an careful sampling of food relevant to Chicago, surprise categories of food such as spices and oils, and interesting cultural and historical perspective of what we were encountering. The foods we sampled were certainly satisfying and delicious, but the tour was satisfying from a total perspective offering us a great way to spend our day in Chicago!

My wife, Gerry and I spent a week in Chicago, including three days in Wicker Park/Bucktown. The Tour food choices were great and local, Kent, our guide was a trendy hipster who loves the area and shows it in his knowledge of the food, architecture and other highlights of the area. A must-do during your visit.
