The food was adequate. The walk through the neighborhoods on the way to the various stops was excellent. we saw a part of Chicago we would never have seen. Fantastic architecture and introduction to city living.

The food, pace and information given were excellent. We will go on another adventure to the food planet. (We just need to recover from the 4 hour trip home due to train delays!)

Nice Way to Discover Off The Beaten Path

Heather, our enthusatic and knowledgeable guide, took us out for a stroll on a nice warm spring day (90*). We got a nice tour of the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhoods and had a chance to taste some very nice treats. We also learned a little history of the area and were able to see some of the different architectural styles in the area. This is a nice way to discover other parts of Chicago besides the downtown area. This tour is highly recommended and if you can, try to have Heather as your guide. She was awesome....here's to you Mom!!

A great way to spend time in Chicago-

This was our 4th or 5th food tour with Chicago Food Planet and we chose to go again because we have always enjoyed the tours we've done. We were not disappointed with this one! Bucktown/Wicker Park has so much fascinating history and great food, too. Two of the spots, George's Hotdogs and The Sultan's Market, were the primary reasons we re-visited this tour. They have unique foods and they are great places to patronize because they are family owned and have been part of their community for years. That said, the other places on the tour were no slouches and we thoroughly enjoyed all of the tastings. We have had great tour guides and Kent did a super job for us on this tour, with his humor and knowledge of the area and enthusiasm for all things Bucktown and Wicker Park. We have seen Michigan Avenue and it does have a lot going for it--but you see a whole different side of Chicago when you take a neighborhood food tour. Chicago Food Planet does a super job of introducing you to places you may not know about, or giving you 'the rest of the story' on places you know. I recommend this tour to tourists and Chicago natives alike, and feel anyone would have a great time eating and learning about these interesting neighborhoods.

Excellent, delicious walking tour! We visited very nice places, restaurant, and shops and we enjoyed a lot. We visited Chicago several times but we could not find out such nice places by ourselves. Most memorable one in our trip in Chicago and recommend every visitors to Chicago to join this tour.

Outstanding Near North Walking Tour
Sat, May 11, 13   11:00 AM Barbbee Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Our tour consisted of 12 people on a short and easy walk along quaint areas of N. State and Wells Sts. We stopped at seven locations that were all very different and very fun, as well as educational. For instance, how to make tea and why tea is good for you; why working with whole ground pepper is so much more flavorful (we actually had a mini-lecture from the owner, who might just work evenings at Second City); making your own oil and vinegar concoction from nearly limitless types of oils and balsamic vinegars. We ate well, yes, but I don’t think anyone felt over fed. The food selections were very fun; Chicago deep dish pizza, sushi, chocolate, and a little pastry. But what really made the tour so much fun was Alia. Alia was exceptional (not to mention a doll). She just exudes charm, is extremely poised, very knowledgeable, and spoke clearly and very audibly. This tour, with Alia, is a must.

This tour was so much fun. Heather, our guide, was delightfully entertaining, personable, and informative. The food was delicious and varied. We learned so much about the area as well as tea, olive oils, balsamic vinegars, spices, etc. We walked, we ate, we laughed, we learned. I would highly recommend this tour!

It was a cool and windy day,but a lot of fun. Our guide Kent was great . You could tell he enjoyed what he was doing . There were people from England Delaware and Chicago. Kent spent talking to each group . The architecture was very interesting even being from the area. Look forward to another tour.

This was our group's 3 food tour and we filled out the entire tour with 13 people on the Chinatown Tour. Our tour guide Lisa was very knowledgeable and made the day amazing. The food was great and so was the history of the area. I would highly recommend this tour, but make sure you are hungry! After it we took the water taxi back towards the loop.
