I loved being able to see the different stores available in the area. Not being from Chicago we got pretty lost trying to go back to patron the stores.

Directions for arriving at the starting point and leaving from the ending point were helpful and accurate. Pleasing array of food establishments visited and foodstuffs tasted. I enjoyed the Chicago facts & trivia given by the guide as well.

The guide on this tour was knowledgeable, friendly and obviously enjoys her work. This experience gave me the chance to find out a little more about Chicago that I would never have found out for myself. I went along on my own for this tour and felt comfortable as everyone in the group was friendly. I thought it would have been tiring walking for 3 hours but the time flew in and there were lots of stops and delicious treats along the way. One of the highlights of my trip.

This tour was fun, educational and just an overall great way to spend the day. Our tour guide was very well informed and delightful. Also, this is a fantastic way to learn more about Chicago and visit establishments you may not necessarily visit on your own! Sign up for this tour you will not regret it!!!

So much to eat we walked back to Rush Street!

Bucktown was a good choice as we would have never gone there otherwise. Very cool up and coming community. Have you ever had ice cream made from Nitrogen? My first experience too! Peace out at the pub with pizza and local Chicago beer. My favorite though, was the delicous chocolate drink from "Hot Chocolate" Lots of local history as well as review of other restaurants we just happened to be by. We wanted to try the Speak Easy but never made it back! We ate so much that we felt incredibly guilty and walked back to our hotel near Rush Street. It toook nearly 3 hours, but it was a lovely day!

Fantastic Tour! Not to be Missed!

This tour far exceded my expectations. The guide was fantastic and the food was delicious. There was a lot of variety in the types of stops on the tour. The neighborhoods that we walked through were beautiful and the guide was very knowledgable about them. I highly recomend this tour and will definately go on another tour by this company the next time I am in Chicago. I also wanted to mention that I went on the tour by myself b/c my husband was in Chicago on business and I still had a fantastic time. Do not miss this tour!

I thought this was a great activity. I don't live too far from Chicago and the restaurants change so often, this was a great way to explore them while also learning more about the history of the Chicago villages.

I was impressed with the guide, I really liked her. She was very informative and showed that she really loved to show people her city. I have been on several foodie tours in other cities (Boston, Ann Arbor, etc) and thought this one was excellent.

A must thing to do when in Chicago!

Everything was great. I would have paid a bit more, given the lunch places were better, and with better food. Also I would wish tour was not as lengthy. half hour less would be great.

Chicago Food & Cultural Tour
Sat, Sep 12  11:00 AM Childree Male 70+ Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
My wife and I very much enjoyed this tour. Two things stand out: first, a brief review of the architectual and cultural aspects of Near North Side of Chicago was quite interesting and not something you get on the big tour buses. Our guide, Jennifer, was quite knowledgeable about the area (s). I especially enjoyed the walk through the Gold Coast area and seeing some of the homes there - Florsheim and Playboy Mansion stand out. Jennifer knew the prices of the condos that are being converted from the old mansions. Second, the foods and accompanients on Wells St. in Old Town was also interesting. I think this part of the tour is mostly for the ladies, but I particularly enjoyed testing the oils and vinegars at Old Town Oil. I wanted to take some home, but cannot due to restrictions of liquids on air flights. We both enjoyed the deep dish pizza in Lincoln Park. One thing I would have enjoyed on the food tour would be a "Chicago hot dog". I have heard of these but not sure how they are different from other hot dogs. That about sums it up. Say Hi to Jennifer! Great Day in Chicago

My first trip to Chicago, can't wait to go back. I was glad I found BWP Food Tasting Tour. What a great time I had touring and eating. The guide was very informative about the area. The food was entirely too much, but I seem to totally enjoy all of it especially the pizza and icream. The experience was low keyed and very relaxing, walking around the neighborhood, with a small group of people checking out the Bucktown community. Great place to visit.

Unfortunately I though this tour was pretty average. I am not a big eater yet there was definitely not enough food on this tour for the price you pay. I took a similar tour that provided more than double the amount of food. The tour guide was average and not genuine although she tried. The highlights of the tour were the chocolate, it was delicious. The oils were nice (and excellent quality) but no bread was provided which is just strange. Who tries oil straight up? Same with the spices, putting cinnamon on my hand, no matter how good the quality is and then licking it is not for me sorry. I am a foodie and maybe if I wasn't then I would have enjoyed this tour more. The pizza at the end was nice but tasted more like a quiche. The definite highlight of the tour was the architecture. Seeing different neighbourhoods that a normal visitor probably would not see was fantastic. I don’t know why some tours get so obvious when they hit you up for the tip at the end of the tour. There is nothing wrong with mentioning at the end that tips are appreciated but when you get a “let me personally say good bye to each and every one of you” even after she has already individually spoken to each us at the end is just obvious and not appreciated.

Delicious, Informative and fun!

It was my second time on the walking tour, and I would go a third! I like the neighborhoods, the food, the parks, the history and information. Jenn was a great tour guide. It is a nice way to do something different in the city. You get the whole tourist experience and some great food! I liked the pizza place better,(the the previous) and the olive oil shop was really neat. There was only one problem, when we got finished (Sunday) and walked back down, the shops were closed, so we didn't get to do any shopping. Maybe think about making the children be at least 8-10 years old.
