Chicago Food Planet Food Tours

This was one of the best-run walking tours I've ever been on and the tour guide was thoroughly entertaining and also well-prepared.

I greatly enjoyed this wonderful stroll thru the streets of Chicago. Our tour guide, Ariana, was extremely knowledgeable and vivacious. She had so much information about the food establishments, and added flair with her input on architecture as we walked through various neighborhoods. I would highly recommend this tour. And, by the way, the food was outstanding!

This was an absolutely delicious, delightful and interesting afternoon tour. The guide was very knowledgeable of the food establishments visited and sites described on walking portion. Definitely come hungry but at the end you won't be looking for more food. There were 4 people in our group on the tour from a 27 year old (local) to a 62 year old. Everyone really enjoyed it and thought it to be very entertaining and worthwhile. There were 7 other people with our tour and they all commented that they enjoyed themselves too. It was nice that the size of the tour is limited in number because of some establishments but it allowed us to get to know and talk to other members in our tour, who were also from out-of-state locations.

Hillary hosted our Near North food tour and from the first moment, she had our hearts. She has an amazing sense of humor, coupled with an encyclopedic knowledge of the subject. We had a blast while learning about the food and history of the area. The food vendors were no slouches, either. The lady at the tea shop explained more about tea in less than 10 minutes than I would have thought possible! We loved experimenting with the olive oils and vinegars and learning about spices, too. I highly recommend this tour, whether you're local or, like us, tourists. You are guaranteed a great experience.

I thoroughly recommend this tour and would do it again if I am ever lucky enough to be in Chicago again.

I have now taken different out of town guests to both the Wicker Park/Bucktown and Near North food walking tours. Both are awesome - great tour guides, great food, a lot of history and great neighborhoods. I will say that there is a quite a bit more "substantial" eats on the Wicker Park tour so prepare yourself to be full! Great tours for locals and tourists alike. Can't recommend highly enough.

The Tour Guide was enthusiastic, enjoyable, and very informative. She entertained questions, was patient, and most definitely did not rush through the tour. She made every attempt to answer any and all questions that she was asked. Even at the end of the tour, she did not leave immediately afterward, she stayed and gave directions to me on how to quickly return, since i wanted to walk back. I sincerely thank her. My tour was on September 11, 2010 at 1 p.m. Give her a raise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mom, my sister & I went to Chicago this past weekend. I purchased tickets beforehand from Zerve (super, super easy) & we enjoyed the tour this past Saturday with our group's guide, Jess. She was completely welcoming, knowledgeable & sweet. We had very tasty eats (my opinion is that only 1 tasting was so-so) and generally had a great time. I really feel that I got to experience Chicago due to the fact that we learned a lot about the culture & architecture of the neighborhood homes alongside tasting the food. It is a very long tour, so be sure to wear comfortable clothes and dress in layers, as you're advised to do. It's a great time!

My niece, who lives in the Chicago area, and I, who do not, went together on your other tour last year and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to repeat the experience. Our guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable (it was nice that he lives in the area and was able to offer personal insight). We are very pleased that you will soon be adding a third tour.

My 21 year old daughter selected this tour after viewing recommendations online, and we both loved it. Not only was our guide, Jess, extraordinarily knowedgeable about all the delicious food we enjoyed, but she had fantastic insight into the city's history and architecture. Getting to see a number of different Chicago neighborhoods was definitely a plus; we would not have become so familiar with the city in such a short time any other way. We will absolutely recommend this tour to others and will search out similar tours in other cities where our travels take us. Put on your walking shoes and go!

We thorougly enjoyed our tour with Jess who was both enthusiastic and informative about her city and its foodie delights. We subsequently re-visited several of the venues and indulged ourselves further. The tour enabled us to try out places we probably wouldn't have found on our own.

We had a wonderful time! Our tour guide was exceptional and extremely knowledgeable. The food was awesome and the architecture sites were simply beautiful. In fact, we've already gone back and tried some of the other restaurants that were recommended during the tour. We have also visited I-Cream several times since the tour. I highly recommend their flavor called, "That Guy From Florida." Overall this was a FANTASTIC TOUR!

My husband and I saw this tour advertised on the internet. We read many good things about it, so we decided to book a tour. We were very pleased with our decision. Our tour guide was Hilary and she was wonderful. We tasted some great food and was treated very well by all the places we visited. Hilary was very knowledgeable about the food we ate as well as the preparation it took. She also was very informative about the city and it's architecture. I would definitely reccomend this tour.

Walking/Eating your way through one of Chicago's hippest neighborhoods on a beautiful fall day.....learning the history of the neighborhoods, the restaurants, and the food.....an absolute must for anyone....tourists and locals alike. This is an awesome idea for any big city! Our tour guide, Kent, was extremely knowledgeable, clever, and kept the day moving at a great pace. This tour was GREAT! It was also beneficial to book this on our first full day in Chicago. We were then able to go back to the stores we wanted to shop and take our time in browsing. As a tour guide, Ariana was fantastic. Her enthusiasm made each locality we visited come alive. Her passion for locally owned business owners and history was much appreciated. I learned a lot and the tastings were just the right amount. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone who loves food, cooking, and non-chain stores/restaurants.
