Great way to learn about a neighborhood or part of Chicago that you might not see otherwise! Very diverse restaurants / food stops on the tour that were quite yummy and quite filling! Only suggestion would be to bring your own water bottle! |

I enjoyed the tour immensely; the foods were wonderful and the spices, oils, and tea stops were enlightening. And the guide was personable and informative. I would absolutely recommend the tours to anyone. |

The stops were great as was the food and stories. I would have preferred more info about the houses we passed. |

Whether you care about the differences between teas or some architectural sights, this tour has plenty of both. Even those just being dragged along for the tour shall find this a very worthwhile 3 hours. |

My wife and I enjoyed this tour immensely. Nicki was a great guide, very informative and personal. The places we went to were diverse and fun. And of course all the tastings were great! It was a good walk and we both liked seeing parts of Chicago we had never seen before. Sadly, we didn't have enough time to go back to some of the shops and make purchases but next time we visit Chicago we will go straight to them. This tour is such a fun thing to do that really shows what Chicago is all about. |

This was recommended by trip advisor and as always was a home run. The tour guide was very informative and engaging. You won't gain weight on this tour because there is a lot of walking. You will not get full on the tour, the food is more like tastings. And a lot of the tour was to a spice shop and an oil shop with no food at all. But there were great products and very unique items I had never seen before. So there are plenty of shopping opportunities. The tour is a great way to visit a side of Chicago many visitors rarely get to see(Gold Coast). I highly recommend it for visitors and locals alike. Also, the folks on the tour were great. We had some funny folks that kept me laughing. Don't miss on seeing the 25 million dollar house near Oz park. The house is so big it looks like a school. By the way there is a Mexican restaurant that is not a part of the tour, but the food looks great, they make the guacamole' fresh at your table. Plan on eating there! |

My wife and I enjoyed it very much. Clearly much thought went into choosing quality establishments, each of which occupies a unique niche in the Chicago food chain.
The tour guide was very pleasant, knowledgeable and informative. Although I appreciated the desire not to overload our stomachs while much walking still lay ahead, I personally would have liked a little more eating (being a major foodie). Including a tea shop, oil shop and spice shop on the same tour was a little too much emphasis on specialty food shops vs. actual eateries. To be fair, many of the participants of our group actually seemed to like these stops best, but I can also imagine that for out-of-town tourists (which we're not) who come on the tour hoping to discover some great restaurants to come back to during their visit, there weren't many actual restaurants on the tour. |

Not near enough food to sample. The tour was advertised as having more to sample than what you really did. Spices? Who samples spices? And oil and vinagers? Really? Oil and vinager...
The tour guide was fantastic. My complaints had to do with how exhausting the walk was and how ridiculous the "samples" were.
I'll list the samples: Reuban sandwich (three bites), a glass of tea, spice shop, oil & vinegar shop, chocolate shop, hummus and cheese on crackers, a slice of spinich pizza.
I feel overcharged for what I received. |

My wife and I decided to take on this food adventure after reading all the positive reviews. It seemed like safe bet to spend our first afternoon in Chicago and we were not disappointed. Our guide Ben was very cheerful and knowledgable about the restaurants and history of the city. Our group was a good mix of out-of-town couples looking to sample some area food. The 3 hour tour went by fast and I do not remember wishing it to speed up or slow down it was set at a good pace. The food was great, chicago hotdog, iced coffee with homemade marshmello (favorite), pasta primavira salad, big slice of pizza and local beer sample, (middle eastern pita) falafel and nitro ice cream! so there was plenty to eat. During the tour we walked through around the neighborhoods and were pointed out other good eats and detail on architectural buildings. The food and experience was worth every penny. note: wear good shoes covered about 2 miles. |

Our guide Heather was not only phenomenal in her knowledge of Chicago, she was hilarious! It was simply refreshing to take in the eats on the Gold Coast but also a joy to learn about Old Town. My favourite was The Fudge Pot and The Spice House. Take a chance a do something out of the ordinary and check out this tour, I plan to check out the others when I return to Chicago. :) |
