| This was a great tour. It started out with a sandwich at a great Jewish deli, then went to a great tea shop where we got an education about tea and left wondering why coffee is so predominant in the U.S. when tea is the #1 beverage everywhere else in the world. Then it was off to the Spice House which will be getting internet business from me. I've never seen a better selection of organic, fresh spices. Then next door to Old Town Oil, which was my favorite stop. We did an olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting...don't knock it! We left with a bottle of the best olive oil I've ever tasted and will be ordering the 18 year aged balsamic! Then it was off to the Fudge Pot--yeah, chocolate! Then to a catering and chocolate place, then ending up at Bacino's Pizza for authentic Chicago stuffed crust pan pizza. It was a wonderful and surprisingly educational tour. Highly recommended. | ||||||

| This tour was a great experience. It was a wonderful balance of history, architecture, and food. My husband and I loved learning about new restaurants and local hot spots. Even though we are from the Chicagoland area, we learned a great deal about parts of Chicago that we had never visited. After our tour, we now feel comfortable to go back and try some of the restaurants and shops in more depth, or even just walk around the neighborhoods to view the beautiful homes and architecture. Shane was a wonderful tour guide. He thoughtfully planned the trip with just the right amount of food tasting, appropriate bathroom stops, and just the right amount of walking (wear comfortable shoes!). We loved this event, and hope he considers putting together more tours to hilight different areas around the city. Well worth the money! | ||||||

| We really enjoyed our food tour. Tour guide did a good job. A few suggestions: Not enough time in oil or spice shop. Pizza was very good, but a long way from the previous stop. We ending going back to three of the shops and used our coupon sheet to make purchases. | ||||||

| We took this tour on our first day in Chicago. Really helped orient us to where things were. Shawn was a terrific "leader", being very enthusiastic and knowledgeable plus a little wacky which made it all the more fun. The tea/spice/pizza stops were our favorites but we also enjoyed the deli food and we would never say a bad thing about chocolate! It was great to learn about the buildings and neighborhoods and other little tips about visiting Chicago. We would absolutely recommend this tour. Do try to take it at the beginning of your visit. Thank you Shawn and newbie trainee Nicky for a great time! | ||||||

| This tour was even better than anticipated. Our guide was personable, fun and very knowledgeable. The presentations were full of interesting facts and the food tastings at each place were delicious, more than adequate and made our entire group want to visit again to dine and/or shop. We also enjoyed the unexpected bonus of the architectural and historical information provided as we walked through several different neighborhoods. It was a great way to spend a day in the city with friends. | ||||||

| Our tour leader was Jess. She was very knowledgable and friendly. Had plenty of enthusiasm and was able to remember most of the people in the group. Had lots of food and learned about the Bucktown/Wicker Park area. Planning to return there this weekend for the art festival. Hopefully will be able to go on the North food tour this Sunday. Beautiful weather, fun group, good food - I would recommend this tour to anyone!! Loved it. | ||||||

| I don't know when I have received a better return on my vacation dollar. The tour was very interesting, many local historical sights were pointed out to us. We saw many local neighborhoods, Old Town, Lincoln Park, the Gold Coast, that we would never have seen on our own. And, as an avowed foodie, the tour was paradise. All the food was excellent and it was a pleasure to find such excellent sources for purchasing spices and olive oils. The guide was friendly and fun. I would do it again!!! | ||||||

| The tour was actually more fun than we had anticipated! We really enjoyed touring some of Chicago and eating some food along the way. Thought the tour time was about right; maybe a little long. Would only recommend not having as many chocolate stops. By the time we got to the last stop (Ethel's), chocolate really wasn't what we wanted. We sensed that from the group as well. Overall, we truly enjoyed the tour and really like our guide. She did a great job! | ||||||

| We really liked the spice shop and the pizza restaurant and the chocolate shop. We thought the oil shop was weak. It sold mediocre oil. We have sourced better oil ourselves. we personally have better balsamic vinegar than was on offer in this shop. Weak point of tour. It would have been helpful if the guide had made recommendations of other restaurants/cafes on our route. Generally the other places were weak and the food was mediocre. This includes the oil shop and the deli and the sandwich shop. The Wicker Park food tour is much better. | ||||||

| My husband and I took the Chicago Food Planet Tour the middle of June '06. As the weather had not yet turned hot the three hour walk was a very comfortable quick paced one. Shawn, our tour guide and owner of the company, is a high energy, knowledgeable young man. It turned out there were only four of us on our tour which was much to our advantage. We were able to each spend time with Shawnand really get to ask all the questions we had. The tour took us through the Gold Coast , Old Town and Lincoln Park area's. Shawn did his research and was able to give us lots of local history as well as stop at some very interesting tasting points. One of my favorite's was the Spice House. Many of the area's we went to I would never have found on my own as we were from out of town. This was a great way to get familiar with Chicago and some of the smaller out of the way shops. | ||||||

| My husband and I loved it. I am a foodie. My husband loves to eat but does not cook. We both found the experience wonderful. We would back to Chicago just for the tour. The three hours went by very quickly and there was enough to eat. We didn't even realize we walked the two miles. We would highly recommend the tour. | ||||||
