Enjoyed very much

My wife and I enjoyed the walking tour, our guide was energetic and well spoken. We think for the amount of food that you get this is not really a food tour. The spice and oil shops were great, however, we could have gone in there for free tastings anyway. The cheese and crackers, nothing special, we can get this type of cheese at home. Fifteen minutes for Pizza was not long enough, perhaps you should end there and let us linger with a glass of wine. We did enjoy it, but would not really say it is a must do.

From Nebraska, Everyone should take the Chicago Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour. I highly recommend that people make this the first event they do when arriving in Chicago. By doing this, it will allow you time to return to points of interest and purchase items you would like to take home with you.

Kate was a fun and knowledge guide. Two days after the tour, we returned to 4 of the tour stops and purchased items. This tour is a must do while in Chicago.

This tour taught us a surprising amount about the neighborhoods of Chicago and the delicious foods we sampled. Our tour guide was a delight and the food was a genuine treat. It was an excellent introduction to Chicago. We recommend it to both visitors and locals.

We did a small group company outing and all really enjoyed the tour! We were able to go to places we had never been despite the fact that all of us were from Chicago. The tour guide was excellent and we would consider doing this again! Thanks!

I thought the duration was a bit short compared to the 90 minute advertised trips by CAF (even then, the tour started at 11:05 and ended at 11:55... lost 10 minutes!), but it was an okay amount of time for my wife who wasn't an architecture buff. For a 60 minute tour, the detail was appropriate and entertaining. Would have preferred that it was more interactive and less scripted though. A couple of times I felt like the tour guide could have gone into a little more detail about the back-story for some of the sites. Otherwise, a very good and entertaining tour.

A very enjoyable way to see the City of Chicago that most tourist would not venture out to see on their own.

This was the first trip to Chicago for my wife and I. The tour was the highlight of our trip! Great insights into the city, along with some terrific food tastings. Highly recommended.

We had a great time on this tour with lots variety that kept it interesting. We had lots of fun on this tour and would recommend it to anyone. We learned a lot of history of Chicago, besides what we learned on the food tour. Our tour guide Emily provided us with lots to think and talk about. We had a great time!!!

Best Tour Ever!!!

My wife and I have taken many guided tours in Chicago, and this is now our favorite. Our Hostess, Kate, was fantastic. She is a font of information on the various neighborhoods through which we walked. The variety of the shops made for lots of interesting conversation. The final stop for a slice of "healthy" stuffed pizza -- Heaven on a Plate!!! -- was definitely worth the wait. We went back to four of the shops in the next couple of days before coming home. The tour was just enough to pique our interest in the tea, oil and spice shops, so we had to go back to purchase "supplies" for the next few months. Kate, and the "Food Tasting Tour," is certainly three hours well-spent.

Nifty tour, and great samples!

This was a really nice tour, taking us through some of Chicago's nicest neighborhoods, and exposing us to architecture, history, and often little-known but really cool food places. The guide was really enthusiastic, the food samples were great, and some of the stops on the tour were unknown to the Chicagoans in our group, but were neat places that all of us enjoyed. The samples were great, and I think the tour is a great way to spend 3+ hours in Chicago!

By the looks of some of the pictures online, I thought this would be a tour for old people, but it was not at all. But as a person who just moved to Chicago, you get a chance to walk through the streets of a few great neighborhoods and learn about them. You check out 8 great places for some great food. You might want to check the weather and wait to see if it's nice out before you buy tickets ($40 each). But I highly recommend this tour, it's a bit different than most tours, but fantastic!

It's hard to tell friends, "Yeah, we walked a couple miles, stopped for tastings and several local businesses, and learned a little history along the way" without their eyes glossing over and them wondering why you blew your money on something so boring. The reality, though, is just the opposite. The tour was the highlight of our day, and we still can't stop talking about the things we saw and did. Our guide was excellent, the shops were delightful, and the day was extraordinarily well-spent. We'd do it again in a heartbeat.
