Colleen (our guide) was very informative. I loved this tour. I'm a huge advocate for promoting local mom and pop shops. This was perfect! You discover little spots that only the locals will know about and that is the BEST part. I would definitely do this again and perhaps try the other tours.
I will be telling all my friends about this!
Thanks for a great time! |

We were a very age diversive group and this tour was a hit with all because of the varied tastings. The food was wonderful with great surpises such as Old Town Oil, Teagschwender and The Spice House. Our guide Martha was articulate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Our group loved learning the history of the Old Town and Gold Coast neighborhoods and just strolling the beautiful and vibrant streeets. Our only suggestion would be to advise people to bring a water bottle. While a few of the tastings offered water or cold tea, it was a warm day and water ran out quickly. |

The tour was very informative and interesting. It explored a lot of the history of the neighbourhoods as well as gave several "fun facts" about the food sampled, the restaurants themselves, and Chicago in general. This was a very enriching experience that helped me appreciate more of the uniqueness of Chicago and its gastronomic culture. Our tour guide, Heather, was extremely knowledgeable and personable, and she really made this tour fun. She knew some of the lesser-known facts of Chicago's history and was able to aptly incorporate pop culture, common knowledge, and personal interest into her explanations. Furthermore, her familiar rapport with the staff at the various establishments helped add a personal touch to the experience, one which greatly supported her credibility. I feel I learned a lot on this tour, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys eating delicious food! |

I really enjoyed the walk through the neighborhood and park and discovering some places I didn't know about before. Hot Chocolate, Sultan's Market, and iCream will definitely be revisited :) Our guide was great - funny and knowledgeable. However, I would have liked to try something more exotic instead of the Chicago hot dog. Being a local and a foodie, that just wasn't special enough and didn't deliver enough bang for my buck. |

Heather was fun and very entertaining as our guide. I feel that the selections need to be worked on, however, if you are going to ask 45$per person...some of the food choices that you brought us to were mediocre at best. The pizza at Lou Minalti's was great - top notch and the green ice tea at the tea shop - fantastic ! It pretty much went downhill from there. The spice shop experience was nice...but we came to eat samples !! Spice up some food for us - sniffing cinnamon and tasting salts is weak and stingy no matter how you cut it. I also think that serving Perogies and Macaroons together on a styrofoam plate is saying that you are a third rate food tour and nobody is in touch with a very important aspect of eating called PRESENTATION. It's not the eateries fault...it is yours FOOD PLANET because you are the host!! You collected my hard earned money. Demand more from your eateries and regularly monitor their enthusiasm and participation. And for bringing my family of 5 people -all of them adult age, you should offer a discount !! C'mon !! The CEO or owner is a cheapskate to not accommodate a situation like that. i'm not that impressed guys sorry. |

The tour was well organized and provided wonderful food selections as well as a nice walking tour of the area. Our guide, Kent, is knowledgable and shared great stories about the neighborhoods. I give this 'attraction' the highest recommendation possible! |

Grandmother and 5 grandchildren ages 8 to 19 and we all had a ball. Our guide Shane was special and included the children in the whole event. We not only enjoyed all of the food but also what we learned about customs and Chinatown itself. |

I actually recently returned from spending more than a month in China and it was great finding out there are many places in Chinatown that have authentic restaurants that still appeal to many Americans. My mother has never been a fan of Chinese food, or at least thought she wasn't until this food tour. She really enjoyed trying everything, and it made her realize that she had never tried "real" Chinese food, and that there are actually many foods that she enjoys and has been missing out on. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys good food, both those who already like Chinese food and those who (think that they) don't. |
