Did the Bucktown tour a few weeks earlier....... Both tours were good, and felt the Bucktown was the best of the two. Both guides excellent, but there was more food on the Bucktown.

Less Walking More Food

A nice tour, but more food and less walking would make it much nicer. Long stretch of walking with no food at all and just architecture and history talk would not be missed. Tour guide is very nice and well informed, and the food that you do get to eat is delicious. If I was looking for an architecture tour, the CFA does a superb job. This tour, we just wanted to eat!

Unique Chicago Experience

The tour was informational as well as a lot of fun. The food tastings were good. It did require more walking than I expected, and with the warm weather that day, I and my friends were tired and sweaty at the end. Our guide was informed and entertaining.

Interesting and delicious food tastings. Saw more of the area and learned more local architecture and cultural information than expected - a very pleasant surprise. Will definitely go back to some of the shops and will do the other CPF tour next time I visit Chicago.

We took the Food Planet Chicago walking tour. Our tour guide, Nikki, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about the area as well as the stores we attended. The weather was perfect, and we had an excellent time. We would definitely recommend this tour!!!

Wonderful tour!!

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour...nice variety of stops, unique businesses that you'd probably not know to check out on your own, great bits of history throughout, and highly recommended. If you have a few days to spend in Chicago, do this as early on as possible so you can go back to the shops and take your time in them. This style of tour is now going to be a staple of our travels!

First, we couldn't have gotten a better guide, Shane. He was very informative and had the right sense for humor. He is a keeper. Second, the tour was fantastic. My wife and I learned thing about tea, spices and oils that we never knew. My wife was thrilled with the garlic olive oil, will be ordering via the web. The other aspect of the tour was totally unexpected. The neighorhoods we walked through were absolutely wonderful. The architecture was interesting and the neighorhoods looked like the kind of place that we would like to live in. Between the food and homes you get to see a side of Chicago that is impossible to experience by any other means.

Our guide Emily was very friendly and informative. The foods we sampled were very good and even tough our feet hurt by the end, we were very glad to have selected the tour as one of the ways we got to experience Chicago.

It was wonderful to get to taste food and see the historical homes in the Old Town/Lincoln Park area. I highly recommend this tour and it's plenty of food to go away satisfied!

Wonderful experience in Chicago neighborhoods
Fri, Jun 26  11:00 AM royhoward Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This was a delightful way to experience the unique shops and businesses in the neighborhoods of Chicago. Walking made the tour more intimate and fun and you were up close and personal rather than a ride by on a bus. There was more interaction with the tour guide and other members of the group. The tasting was great fun. The only negative of this tour was one of the stops where the workers were indifferent to us and gave the feeling we were a bother. I would like to see the Catering establishment changed to one of the Bakeries we saw in the area. Also, it would have been better if we could have purchased items during the tour. How many of the group had the time or took the effort to return to one of the stores to buy? All in all, this was one of most enjoyable and different tours I have taken.

I went to Chicago with my girlfriend and another couple (both being friends from work). We spent the entire 5 days sight seeing all over Chicago ie planetarium, aquarium, museums etc, but the best day we had was spent in Bucktown/Wicker Park. We met at Georges Hot dog stand where we had the best tasting hotdogs I've had in my life. We continued through the streets of Bucktown and then on to Wicker Park. As we walked through the neighborhood we were taught about the rich culture and archetecture that was established throughout history. Our Guide Kent was fantastic. He was able to answer most if not all, the questions that was asked and was able to talk about his neighborhood with excitement. He provided a rich history and outlined some of the best hotspots to dine at. I can say I truely enjoyed all the food I given to try ie Hotdogs to thin crust pizza to homemade marshmellows and hot chocolate. Finally ending at a little chocolate store for yes chocolate tasting...mmmmm. To go along with that thin crust pizza previously mentioned was also a beer sampling at a little microbrewery. I just wish I could have had more. My only complaint for that day has absolutely nothing to do with the tour itself, but with the weather. It was quite cold for the day, and a bit snowy which made standing out on the street a little hard. But the warm food and drinks completely made up for the cold weather. In conclusion I would have to highly recommend this tour. The tour guide was great, the food was awesome, and the history within the area was indeed very fascinating. Just hope you pick a date that the weather is good. I would go back for a second tour. Good food, good friends, good times Thanks again

A mixed group of 8 friends met up from around the country and abroad to spend a very enjoyable 3 hours on this tour. The enthusiasm of the guide was infectious and her knowldege of both the food and the architecture added to the enjoyment. Several members of the group plan to take the tour again when they return to Chicago.

Put on your walking shoes and enjoy the interesting facts of the city by a knowledgeable guide. We had Shane and he was terrific. The stops were great, stopping at a super spice store, sampling cheeses, chocolates, pizzas, and great information at a terrific tea shop while sampling a giant iced tea. This tour was better than I anticipated, the best $40 I have spent in a long time. I went with my three sisters and we just loved every minute of it. ENJOY!!!!!
