A great way to visit several unique eateries.

A very tasteful way to visit several local neighborhoods and really unique eateries. I particularly enjoyed the enthusiam of my guide Kent, and the detail he gave about the local history and specifically about the architecture of many of the buildings we passed. Carolyn

I really enjoyed this tour. I visited Chicago once before, but my husband and I had explored the areas of the Loop and the museum districts on our own. I was on my own in Chicago this time and decided to take this tour up in the Northern Neighborhoods of the Gold Coast, Old Town, and Lincoln Park. It was amazing! I went back to half of the stops and bought merchandise because the shops were so cool! I will take my husband on this tour the next time we are in Chi-town.

I would recommmend this tour over the Dine - Around tour. After the tour I walked back to several of the stores and made purchases.

I'd recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago or even living in Chicago! While on this walking tour you get exposed to various foods and interesting shops all while getting historical background on the city and buildings. The tour guide, food, information, architecture, and walk were all great!

A great time and fun for a foodie

My tour guide, Nicole, was very warm and inviting. She really liked living in Chicago and provided a view as a resident. I went back to purchase items in a few of the stores later. I found the map that was provided to be a very smart move since some of us did not know where we were and how to get back to the stores efficiently. Thanks for a great time!

FABULOUS way to "do it all" off beaten path!

We had a wonderful guide named Jennifer who was very passionate and enthusiastic about sharing her love of Chicago, although she modestly claims that all the FoodPlanet guides communicate the same information. We walked through three significant neighborhoods that reflect Chicago's wonderful history, architecture and diversity (NOTHING scary, I promise! Lots of wonderful upscale things to admire too) and tasted such interesting things while learning. I've traveled all over the world and this is - bar none - the best tour I've ever taken for the sheer interest, range of information and variety of activities - exercising, learning, tasting, sightseeing. Plus, they give you the "down low" on what locals like to do so you can make your own plans later and there also was a little local gossip to keep the interest level at a peak the entire time! Can you tell I had a wonderful time and will be dragging a group up to Chicago just for this tour as soon as I can pull it off?

Expanding to San Francisco?

I took your tour on Wednesday and I haven't been able to stop thinking about how amazing it would work in San Francisco, my hometown. If you ever consider expanding into San Francisco and need insider's information of the area, please do not hesitate to contact me. With all the different cultural neighborhoods and the history in San Francisco, a walking food tour would be highly sucessful. In time - I could even picture several tours highlighting the different areas: Chinatown, North Beach, the Embarcadero, the Mission. The possibilities in San Francisco are endless!! Just some food for thought (no pun intended!) Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

I fly to Chicago regularly (every 3-6 months) and have done all the museums over and over. So this last trip I came across this tour on-line and wound up having a great time!! I was lucky to be in a small tour group and found the intimacy a great advantage. I would highly recommend this to do with friends looking to try something cool and trendy!!

Terrific and unusual tour.

This was a great tour for me and well worth the cost. I am a food lover and knew I would have time to spare while my husband was at a conference. Directions to and from the tour were perfect. I didn't have any unanswered questions prior to or after the tour. I was glad I wore good walking shoes as directed! Our tour guide was very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I learned many interesting things about the various Chicago neighborhoods and greatly enjoyed the tastings. It wasn't too much or too little. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to go off the beaten path and experience a taste of life in Chicage.

Our tour was very relaxing, lots of time to chat as we walked, everyone enjoyed it. I went back to the Spice and Tea and Oil , and Ethels stores and purchased several hundred dollars in merchandise. The architectual points were really interesting and I felt I received an orientation to the neighborhoods, of gold coast, and old town that I would never have achieved walking alone even if I found the shops. The walking part was great too.

I had a great time on the tour. My guide was very knowledgable and friendly too! I enjoyed seeing a few neighborhoods I would not have probably ventured to on my own given my time constraints. I was in Chicago for business purposes and only for 3 days.

The meeting point was convenitent but the tour leader (also a fitness instructor) conducted the tour at such a brisk walking pace it felt like being route marched through the city, although the day was cold her desire to sprint through the streets meant the group sturggled, indeed two people left the tour such was the frantic pace. The stops were however unhurried and interesting although as shopping on the tour is not allowed it meant that if one wanted to make a purchase it had to be on a return visit or online. The leader seemed oblivous to the needs of the individiuals inthe group although her commentary was interesting. It would be better to either plan the tour aournd shops closer to each other (at one point it was over a twenty minute walk to the next stop) or have fewer stops so the walking pace is not so frantic. I have taken a similar but much better tour in San Francisco wear at some points the group joined the hop on hop off bus tour which was much more enjoyable. Only one for the very fit .
