Well worth the time.
Thu, May 5, 11   11:30 AM Tapizzle Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
You can only see so many buildings. To really get to know the culture of a city and what a city is about you have to venture off the beaten tourist path. For the less adventurous this is a safe way to see a different side of Chicago and experience what the food spots that the locals enjoy. The high light was Hot Chocolate with the fresh made marshmallows. It's not just hot chocolate it’s an altered state experience. It is certainly worth the time. I highly recommend this.

The best part of our visit to Chicago
Thu, Oct 2, 08   12:00 PM tanya_topps Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We loved our first visit to Chicago, the people, the sites, the shopping...BUT the best part of our short three day trip was the walking tour!!! Jennifer was fantastic, very informative and energetic!! We loved seeing a side of Chicago that we would have otherwise missed! I would highly highly recommend this to anyone...we had everyone from Chicago natives who had never taken the time to visit these local gems...to tourists like ourselves from out of country, in our group, and everyone had a great time! Thanks again Jennifer you were great!

Fun taste of Chicago in local businesses

This tour was a great way to hit several birds with one stone: try out Chicago foods, visit several residential neighborhoods and support local businesses. There was a lot of walking but the best treat was the pizza and the chocolate at the end. Our tour guide (12 noon tour, 8/31) was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable.

A true Chicago Experience!
Sun, May 29, 11   11:30 AM Tannerboy Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
I have been to Chicago many times on business, but never took the time to investigate various local neighborhoods, to taste and learn about various dishes/cuisine, to delight in knowing more about exotic teas or spices or oils/vinegars, to enrich my knowledge of what Chicago truly has to offer. This tour was a highlight in our trip, and has introduced us to many new experiences, shops, and areas that we will return to in future stays.

This tour will give you a great opportunity to see Chicago's less touristy areas, learn about the local history and architecture while enjoying a variety of diverse food samples. Our favorites: the falafel and the home-made marshmallow.

We had a fabulous time on this tour and would recommend it to anyone. What could be better than eating your way through a new area? The venues were great, I loved all of them except for the grocery store.

Learned alot and enjoyed ourselves even though the weather was unusually miserable-cold and rainy near the end of the tour, Hillary was still as enthusiastic at the beginning as at the end of the tour. Would definitely do again.

We enjoyed the history and local factoids provided, good pace and amount of town covered, nice variety and choices of stops, did not care for the plug for tips at the start of the tour.

Well Worth It!!!

I have been on many food tours in different cities across the country and this one was by far the best!! Our tour guide Rebecca was amazing. She added in some history about the areas we were walking in, gave us fun facts, and offered her recommendation about where to go to eat, shop and other must do activities. We went on the near north tour and went to some amazing shops. Out of all the places we went to we ended up going back to 3 of them to purchase stuff. The tour was so great and I would recommend it to everyone I know!

Great Food Journey through Chicago
Thu, Jul 29, 10   11:00 AM TammyDGibson Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Unspecified
Great experience. Tour guide was very enthusiastic and informative about Chicago and the shops/foods we were entering. Everything very organized. A taste of the culture and shops was an experience I would not have had on my own. Following tour, I went back to a couple of the shops and purchased goods. Everyone very nice - not strenuous at all as far as activity. Our group was small which was great because we all got to get acquainted during our jaunt through parts of the city. I learned alot this tour - the way to prepare/steep teas to get their full flavor; how to mix oils and vinegars on my own to my palate; purchasing spices and keeping them fresh. Just enough food to be full at end of tour - the deserts, pastries and chicago deep dish pizza were wonderful!! Will do again on return trip.

Fantastic Activity

Loved all the unique places we got to visit. From the spice shop to the oil and vinegar shop where got to mix and match different oils and vinegars. Where else do you get to do that? The tea shop was a favorite. Who knew there were so many flavors of tea to try. The stuffed crust pizza was really tasty. I didn't think we would have a lot to eat at each place, but I was stuffed by the end. Everything was tasty. Also our guide Jess did a great job. She was very enthusiastic and informative about the food and the architecture along the route. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
