My daughter and I enjoyed the tour, it was more than we expected. The food experience was very informative but on our walk we also learned so much about the neighborhoods and history of the city. We had plenty to eat and a nice variety of businesses to visit. Hillary was excellent. I am recommending it to everyone.

I have been on many food tours in different cities across the country and this one was by far the best!! Our tour guide Rebecca was amazing. She added in some history about the areas we were walking in, gave us fun facts, and offered her recommendation about where to go to eat, shop and other must do activities. We went on the near north tour and went to some amazing shops. Out of all the places we went to we ended up going back to 3 of them to purchase stuff. The tour was so great and I would recommend it to everyone I know!

I enjoyed the tour. Our guide was excellent chatted with us while we were walking, he made the experience great. One of the negitive things of the tour was that it felt like we were rushed at some places. I understand we were on time constraints but a little extra time at a few places would be nice. Overall I thought it was a great time.

Arianna and Lauren were great!!!! I really appreciated learning about the history of the local areas besides the details about the food tastings. I would definitely recommend this tour. I did come home with teas and the tea maker. Disappointed I couldn't come home with the reuben and pizza!!!!

Our group of 15 was guided by Jess ... it was one of the BEST experiences in Chicago! My daughter goes to college in Chicago and while visiting we like to explore new areas and things to do. This was by far one of our favorite tours and we have been coming to Chicago for years. We took the North Tour which started at Ashkenaz Deli - I had the most delicious corned beef sandwich and my vegetarian daughter had a potato pancake (they were very accommodating!) ,we then stopped at Tea Gschwendner for some iced tea, then to Old Town Oil which was amazing on to The Spice House. Each stop provided us not only with great food and drink but also a wealth of knowledge and fun facts! The Fudge Pot gave us a behind the scenes look and had us licking our fingers after the chocolate covered toffee. Delightful Pastries gave us savory and sweet in their pirogies and kalachki's and finally Bacino's Pizzeria had us eating their famous spinach deep dish pizza .... along the way we saw fabulous architecture and really enjoyed talking with everyone in our group. Next trip back we are going on the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour .... awesome job Jess you were a great guide!!!

I usually shy away from tours when I visit new cities, but on this trip I was traveling with my mom and she always wants to do tours. I decided a good compromise would be a food tour and it was great! Our tour guide Hillary was extremely friendly and informative. The restaurants and shops we stopped at were mostly places you would never find on your own and the food / drinks were delicious! I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to learn a little bit about Chicago and food at the same time.

Hillary was fantastic! She was so friendly and knowledgeable and made sure everyone was included and had fun. I will be taking the other tour soon, it was that good. We visit Chicago often from down state and walk around but have never learned so much. Not only do you learn something new at each stop, but on the whole tour between stops as well. This gave me a greater understanding of the neighborhoods, the city and food. It was just fun too, on top of all that. I would recommend it by yourself, a couple, friends or a group.

FAVORITE activity in Chicago

I was joined by my daughter and two daughters-in- law for a girls' weekend in Chicago. I read about the food tour on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. So glad we did as we all felt it was our favorite activity of the weekend. Of course, the weather ( sunny and near 70' ) and our guide (Ariana) had a great deal to do with making the tour so wonderful. The food was great, but we also enjoyed learning little known tidbits about the neighborhoods and their inhabitants. All in all, well worth the money and time....great exercise, too, to get rid of all the calories we were eating!

This was one of the best food tours we did on our travels in the US, my fiancé still talks about the pastrami sandwich we had! Even though it was cold and raining on the tour we were thoroughly entertained. Well done!

I live in northwest Indiana and my family and I go to Chicago often. We usually go out to dinner or enjoy a festival or concert or something of that nature. Taking this tour however enabled us enjoy unfranchised and uniqueChicago gems. Our tour guide Hilary was well spoken, well educated about the city and quite funny. The tour was not only about food, but a brief history lesson about chicago. I took my mom on this Near North tour for a Mother's Day activity for just the two of us and we both loved it. I would highly reccommend this for any occasion.

A Food, Walking, Historic Tour of Chicago

Our guide Chris? was very informative, fun, helpful and professional! Our Reuben sandwich at Ashkenazi deli was delicious. Other stops were very interesting and well done. Merchants were very nice. The pizza at Boccini was fabulous! Two suggestions: The oil and vinegar shop have smaller bottles of their wonderful products available to sell. The walk to Boccini's was a bit long for me, but I am 82 years old.

We thouroughly enjoyed it. It was very informational and we learned things we never new before and felt it was very interesting.Tthe only thing we would recommend is don't eat a big breakfast ahead of time because the tasting portions are very sufficient and we were full by the end of the tour. That's a great thing! The samples of food were great and I went back to 4 places on the tour and bought items. I will definitely recommend it to anyone I know that is going to Chicago.

Taking the Near North Food Tasting & Cultural Walking Tour was one of the absolute best things we have ever done on vacation. We sampled delicious foods, learned new things, and had our senses stimulated in unexpected ways. We have been talking non-stop about it since our tour, and are recommending it to everyone as a MUST DO when in Chicago. Taking the other tour is tops on our list of things we will be doing during our next visit to Chicago!
