I live in the chicagoland area and still learned so much about the Bucktown/Wicker Park Area. It was an awesome tour and the tour guide and the other people on the tour were super friendly so it made for a great date with my husband! The local eateries are definitely on my list to go back to!

We enjoyed all of the tastings and the walking around the chinatown neighborhood to which I had been but never fully understood before. Our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable about the area and the food. She did an excellent job relating to the group and getting the group to interact. Would highly recommend!

My wife and I live in the Chicago suburbs and decided to take Good Friday (company holiday) to be tourists in our own city. The Bucktown/Wicker Park Food Tour seemed like a good venue to explore...It met our expectations. I also wrote a critique and uploaded some photos to tripadvisor.com. Overall, our afternoon was great and our guide, Gina, was full of fun factoids about the area. The only thing we would critique is that the sequence of the food (hot chocolate after a Portillo's style hotdog?) and the pace (wolfed-down a falafal pita pocket) was a bit weird, and might be better ended over pizza and beer for camaraderie....but the nitrogen-infused ice cream store was also cool.

Great experience overall, really enthusiastic guide who was super knowledgable about the history and told us lots of interesting historical facts without being pushy or boring, and kept the flow of the tour at the perfect pace. Just the right amount of walking vs. eating, great order (tea place was an awesome break from pizza) and terrific restaurants. I can't say enough about the guide, but the food was also amazing. All the places along the way treated us super well (not at all like a groupon experience where the companies generally hate having you there). I'd love to take my family to all these places when they visit, but I realized for the price (which is reasonable considering the amount of food you get) and quality, it is worth just taking them on a tour! Sure you could go to all these places yourself on your own mini tour (which is encouraged, the places are amazing), but I felt that it was totally worth it to pay for the tour. And I'm a poor college student, so that is saying a lot!

As said, overall really enjoyed the tour. I had been on the north side tour also and had a basic idea of what to expect. We started at George's and were all seated and the guide, Kent, took us outside into the cold only to talk for ten minutes and then we went back inside where we previouly had been,. that didn't seem to make sense to me. At hot chocolate we had a lovely hot cocoa sample but given that the chef is known for her pastries i was disappointed to not have a sample of those while there. Next on to Goddess and the Grocer. This stop seemed like an after thought...it was quick and rushed and the sample wasn't good, a very generic griled vegetable salad. didn't seem to have any link or connection to the woman who opened the stores or her business- there were many other deli items that looked much more unique and flavorful than the vegetable salad. I was disappointed with that stop. Sultan's was good but we were seated in a back room and really missed out on the action going on up front and didnt have time to take it in, Piece was informative about the business but the pizza was cold and the beer sample was smaller than I thought $44 per ticket would have gotten us. iCream was very unique, cool that she is a UofC grad. I'm glad I checked out this tour, it was nice to visit another area of Chicago where I don't usually spend much time. It wasn't as good as the northside tour in my opinion. and I'd like to checkout the Chinatown tour sometime soon. Kent was cool- well informed, nice, knew alot about his "hood' and "people". My guests from Iowa CIty really enjoyed it and that is what matters.

This is the 2nd Food Planet tour that I've done. I enjoyed the Bucktown/ Wicker Park one because it was a new part of town for me. This tour was remarkable because this is a part of town that I go to frequently and yet I learned about some new places. Loved the pastrami Rueben at Ashkanez! Alia was informative and entertaining.

My friends were coming into town with their teenagers and we were trying to find something to do that would work for a 9, 13, 14 and 16 year old. We decided the walking tour (Near North tour) could be interesting for all and better yet it had food for the teenage boys. We really enjoyed it and would definitely do it again. The food was great, the history information interesting and our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun (most important factor when dealing with kids). Looking forward to trying some of the other tours. We all agreed well worth the money and time, a tour not only for vistors but locals. Quote from my 9 year old daughter Cora "That was cool; I want to do that again."

Our family wanted to get together to celebrate my sister's birthday and thought this tour would be a fun family event. It did not disappoint!! Our tour guide, Hillary, was excellent! She was informative, had a great sense of humor and answered all our questions. The food was amazing and the historical part of the tour was so interesting! We did had a family member in a wheel chair. The tour was accommodating, however, the sidewalks of Chicago were somewhat resistant! This tour is doable with a wheel chair, but please know that it may be a bit bumpy! Our entire family thoroughly enjoyed everything about the tour! We are already talking about which tour we will be taking next.

The tour was very enjoyable. I learned more than I ate, and I got my fill of food. It was a great introduction to Chinatown that will allow us to explore further with much more knowledge and understanding. The tour guide was personable and enthusiastic about the tour. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone local who wants to learn more about an incredibly interesting neighborhood or any tourist who wants a deeper experience other than a restaurant or store visit.

Not knowing exactly what to expect, as we had never done this before, we were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Our guide "Jess" was so much fun, very informative, so cute and personable. We will definitely recommend this and also plan to do another one next summer with the family.

This was our staff summer outing -- and it was fantastic! Great way to explore a part of the city not many of us have venutred, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and really enhanced the experience. As a meeting planner, I consider this a home run!
