Once a year our department goes on an outing together. I found this one on the Internet while searching for some new ideas. The other members of the group and I agreed that this was the best outing we've had. Our tour guide (who did a great job as he was both knowledgeable and entertaining) took us through some of the most beautiful and interesting neighborhoods in Chicago. He did a great job of pointing out historical areas of interest. The nice variety of foods presented were all great and the weather cooperated as well. We couldn't have asked for more. We'd definitely recommend this tour and might even take it again ourselves in the future!

This tour was a great experience. It was a wonderful balance of history, architecture, and food. My husband and I loved learning about new restaurants and local hot spots. Even though we are from the Chicagoland area, we learned a great deal about parts of Chicago that we had never visited. After our tour, we now feel comfortable to go back and try some of the restaurants and shops in more depth, or even just walk around the neighborhoods to view the beautiful homes and architecture. Shane was a wonderful tour guide. He thoughtfully planned the trip with just the right amount of food tasting, appropriate bathroom stops, and just the right amount of walking (wear comfortable shoes!). We loved this event, and hope he considers putting together more tours to hilight different areas around the city. Well worth the money!

I would certainly recommend this to friends and family because Shane is so much fun and so enthusiastic about what he does know. And combining the walk with all that tasty food & drink along the way was inspired! I would have enjoyed the tour a lot more though if Shane had known more about the neighborhoods. For example, his scripted talk about the Playboy Mansion was fun, but there is so much more to the Gold Coast. He needs to research the history of the area which will put him in a much better position to field questions about the buildings, etc. Otherwise the tour will become stale and not something I would consider doing again.

Our tour guide was very personable and charming. At each stop he was well prepared and very enthusiastic. The tour went to great restaurants and shops. I had a great time and have already recommended to friends. The only suggestion I would make is for the guide to keep learning about the areas we walked thru for additional architectural details/information.

Our group truly enjoyed this cultural tour of the city, including the food. Even with the unbearable heat and humidity, the tour guide made our trip very comfortable. Water at every stop, including tastes of the area. This is a great experience for persons unfamiliar with the neighborhoods of Chicago, the "off the beaten path" so to speak. Being a native to the area, I still enjoy a day downtown. Our group for a local college, which included persons with disabilities learned a lot in the short time we were together. Not to mention the experience of traveling, time management and manners in the places of business. Great learning experience for our students. Thank you, Elmhurst Life Skills Academy Elmhurst College

We loved the walking tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods and the shops that we visited. The clerks at the shops were very friendly. And we loved the wide variety of sample foods. One caveat: We knew ahead of time that the tour would not end where it began. BUT we had no idea how really far away it was to be. In our tour, we finished about 45 minutes away from where we started! PLUS we had to walk another 30-some minutes to get back to our parked car. By the end of the day we were VERY tired. It might be better if the tour could somehow be planned to end where it began.

Sean was a great tour guide. There were only two of us so we could ask a lot of questions. The places we stopped had great food and presentations. We also enjoyed the history of the area that Sean gave us. We have enthusiastically recommended this to a number of our friends.

If you haven't gone on this tour yet you are missing out. Being a Chicago Native I thought that I had visited nearly every restaurant Chicago has to offer. Little did I know that I was completely neglecting the near north side. This tour opened my eyes to a whole new world of top notch restaurants. I highly recommend this tour to anyone, even Chicago natives, that want to do something a little out of the ordinary and experience REAL Chicago food.

This was such a wonderful day for our group. We not only had the opportunity to visit, taste, and learn more about the foods and drink we consume, but we gathered additional information about the sites within our community. Our tour guide, Sean, was fantastic! He was vibrant, interactive, considerate, and thoroughly enthusiastic about what we were about to see and do. Sean knew how to involve all the group members in our tour so we all felt a part of it. I have already recommended this tour to friends, family, neighbors, and business associates. Very unique tour, great for tourists or local residents. My wife and I are locals and virtually everything we saw was new to us. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was well thought out in terms of the food that we sampled. We really enjoyed the fact that we had a chance to walk through some beautiful areas of Chicago. In many ways it is both an architecture tour and a food tour. The guide was very friendly and had a great knowledge of Chicago. For anyone who enjoys fine food in a fine city this is yout tour !
