| This tour was suppose to be 3 hours, but it was closer to 4. The originating stop had a food tasting, but the next 3 stops in a row were tea, spices, and oil/vinegar. While they were super interesting and a great part of the tour, the tour description says that it is good for lunch. We scheduled our tour for noon based on that. We had an 11 year old who was starving for the first two hours of the tour until we finally stopped at a candy shop, a catering store, and then finally to pizza and dessert. I would space out the food stops more evenly so that you're not starving for the first half of the walk and then full for the second. Our tour guide was great and very informative. | ||||||

| This was a really nice tour, taking us through some of Chicago's nicest neighborhoods, and exposing us to architecture, history, and often little-known but really cool food places. The guide was really enthusiastic, the food samples were great, and some of the stops on the tour were unknown to the Chicagoans in our group, but were neat places that all of us enjoyed. The samples were great, and I think the tour is a great way to spend 3+ hours in Chicago! | ||||||

| It was a great tour with a great guide (Jennifer). One of the things that enticed me about the tour, was the walking part. I loved that we would taste and get out and about . (I'm a foodie, but love to incorporate excercise into anything I can. I loved that the three parts of the city were included. I would have never gone out of my way to see the different districts and they were all so interesting and lovely in their own ways. I was also impressed that Jennifer knew about the producst in each establisment, so we wouldn't have to disstrupt the establishment and could be in and out inconspicuously(sp), It was a great flow. So in a nutshell I was impressed (If you didn't noticed I used the word alot!) So thank you for offering such a different type of tour. It fit my needs perfectly! | ||||||

| Our tour guide Nicki had a great deal of knowledge about the city that focused on other areas outside of restaurants, she was an enthusiastic individual who paid a great deal attention to each patron. The variety of the stores and restaurants were fantastic and surprising, the only thing i would warn each of the guests is that the tour does tend to go about 4 hours vs the 3 hours and the tour does not end where you begin and will need to either walk the 24 blocks back or arrange other transportation. The walk was fantastic and educational, I would recommend the tour to anybody who was interested in learning about Chicago, and for the money a great buy. The tour owner Shane followed thru all the way to ensuring every paid guest will be attending the tour. | ||||||

| My husband and I and another couple friend participated in the Near North Food and Cultural Tour on November 7 (to celebrate my birthday). We had a great time, and our docent, Caroline was awesome. She clearly loves doing this and for only living in Chicago a short time, she is very knowledgeable on Chicago history and architecture. My only complaint is that in the advertisement for the tour it mentions bringing along extra money to buy items from the various stops (for example, the Spice House, Old Towne Oil). At the beginning of the tour, Caroline requested that we didn't do any shopping since our group was too large and if everyone shopped then the tour wouldn't stay on schedule. My friend and I did end up buying a few things at The Spice House and Old Town Oil because we don't live in the Chicago area and we were not going to have time to go back to those locations when the tour ended. My recommendation is to limit the number of participants so that people can shop. I know there were several in our group who wanted to shop and didn't b/c of Carolines, request. We shopped quickly, but would have liked more time. | ||||||

| The tour was very informative. The guide Tad was very knowledgeable and friendly. The places we visited were very special local places and very enjoyable. The people in the shops shared food knowledge with us. Not only did we learn about the food we learned local facts. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys and active tour and has an interest in food as well as getting off the beaten path. | ||||||

| My family and I loved this tour and highly recommend it. There were four of us ranging in age from 29-57. We went on a Sunday afternoon, leaving at noon from Ashkinaz Deli in the Gold Coast. We then walked to several other different vendors including chocolate stores, a spice shop, an oil shop, a tea shop and a pizza place. At each place you learn about the food and during the walk your guide discusses the local architecture and history of Chicago. In all, it took about 4 hours (the website says 3) but it was worth it. It exposes you to places that you would not otherwise go to and it turned out the the spice and oil shops were my two favorite places (I was less than thrilled when I saw them on the list). I would recommend eating before you go. The pizza (the most substantial thing you eat) is the second to last stop and we arrived there around 3:15. I would also recommend bringing a drink. You do walk the entire time so wear good walking shoes. Also, if you are visiting from out of town do this early in your trip so that you can go back and purchase items from the stores you visit, as this is not allowed while you are on the tour. We loved this tour and would absolutely do it again with our next out of town guests. | ||||||

| If you are like me, and normally do not enjoy tours, I highly recommend this one. The groups are small and the tour guides are personable and engaging. Walking around, I did not feel like a tourist, only a local walking with a group of friends. All the samples offered were fantastic. Make sure you bring an empty stomach, the portion sizes are huge and a great value for what you pay. | ||||||

| Kate our guide was very good, other then the places and their food, knew alot bout the history of Chicago and its architecture. She'll try and get to know you during the walk and see what you think of Chicago, and very helpful on questions. Food was great and enough for the afternoon, if ur the hungry type probably get a bite to eat and bring some water. We had a perfect day for it when we went so it was excellent overall. Ive recommended it to my friends | ||||||

| Living in Chicago all my life and even speding time on the very street we walked, I thought I knew it all....was I wrong!!! The tour took us to places I have passed a hundred times, without ever knowing the treasures which lied within those restaurants and shops. It was fun, informative, and I would recommend to anyone both local and out of town visitors. | ||||||
