Chicago Food Planet Food Tours

For my 65th birthday I wanted to do something different and fun. The food and cultural tour definitely fulfilled that plan. My family and friends that I invited loved it.! They all thanked me for inviting them. Everyone couldl not stop talking about how much fun they had on the tour. I highly recommend it.

Very enjoyable and educational.

This was a great tour, covering a couple of wonderful Chicago neighborhoods with lots of cultural and history. The food stops were very good. The guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out some architectural facts also. The only thing that would have made this tour better was if it wasn't raining at the time! I only wish we would have had at least five minutes at each stop to do a little shopping.

Our tour guide (Kent) was wonderful. He provided so much information - history, personal insights, architecture, etc. The choices for our "tastings" were great - we had a variety of foods - some reflecting Chicago cuisines, others were simply American versions of foods. The tour moved along at a pleasureable pace. I would highly recommend this tour and would take it again when we return to Chicago!

Really enjoyed the walking food tour - in fact, enjoyed the history and stories about the area - Gold Coast and Old Town, as much as the food. Our guide, Kent, was terrific! Very knowledgeable and great sense of humor. The food was very good - enjoyed it all, and liked the info on olive oil and spices too.

The guide was wonderful; she included great tidbits of architecture, local color and history. A perfect amount of walking. Tons of information at each stop. It is a great way to spend a day in Chicago with friends.

Loved the tour, the tour guide, the neighborhoods, the shops, and the other folks on our tour....and, of course, the tastings were great!!!

Starting with the Jewish deli and ending with a Polish pastry shop felt like we had traveled the world. our guide was enthusiastic and informative. We'd go again in a heartbeat.

This was a great tour that allowed friends not necessarily familiar with the Old Town/Gold Coast neighborhoon the opportunity to get involved. We loved the sampling and the various vendors chosen for the tour - it was a nice variety.

The food, pace and information given were excellent. We will go on another adventure to the food planet. (We just need to recover from the 4 hour trip home due to train delays!)

The Near North area food tasting tour was awesome! Great tastes (and drinks), wonderful historical and architectural information, good walking pace, and timing of the tastings was well thought out. Never felt too full, but were well satisfied at the end. We did our tour from 11 to 2:00 and it easily took the place of lunch. We had Hillary and she was fun, well-informed, and took great care of us! I am looking forward to doing the other two tours available in the very near future! Thanks to all responsible for setting this up! What a great way to see Chicago neighborhoods!

Wanted to check out a different area of Chicago and what better way to get to know a neighborhood than eating your way through it! Our guide was great! Very friendly and knowledgeable. She was a local Wicker Parker so it felt like she sharing her beloved neighborhood with us. The portions were big and the food was yummy. We also walked around the residential areas and learned about the architecture and history about the area which was a nice unexpected bonus. I highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Great tour! Nice variety in the offerings. Liked how they tied a little history of the neighborhoods in as well. Guide was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Would recommend this for anyone visiting Chicago.
