My wife and I live in the suburbs and were looking for something to do. She found this Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour and we thought it looked fun. Turned out to be very worthwhile and enjoyable. Not only did we partake in some tasty food, but we also got to visit some shops that we otherwise would not have considered (i.e., Spice House, Oil and Vinegar Shop). I would highly recommend this to locals and visitors alike.

We enjoyed the tour, the food, and the information about the area. Our tour guide was fun. We would have liked a few more substantial food samples for the money. Also, return transportation to the starting point of the tour would be a big help!

My husband and I recently took the Near North food tour. It was a wonderful way to get to know some local shops and restaurants while walking through some beautiful Chicago neighborhoods. Our guide, Jess, was incredibly knowledgable, energetic, and friendly. We plan to do another tour the next time we are in the city. Thank you, Chicago Food Planet!

I surprised my husband with this tour on our anniversary weekend. He absolutely loved it! The food was delicious and our tour guide Jade was very informative and witty. She did a good job of keeping the tour lively. By the 2nd stop he no longer minded being the only male on the tour! I would definitely recommend this tour. Our favorite was George's Hot Dogs and Hot Chocolate! YUM!

What an amazingly fun way to spend an afternoon!

I'm new to Chicago, and had a friend in town. I had been wanting to explore Bucktown/Wicker Park for awhile, but hadn't quite gotten around to it yet. The food tour served as a great way to get introduced to a neighborhood. You know when you go to a great area packed with restaurants, you don't quite know where to begin, and Yelp isn't always as reliable as you'd like? This is the perfect way to get acquainted with an area, and dip your toes in to the well of great food and great neighborhoods of Chicago. First off, Sophie, our tour guide, was really great. She was a lot of fun, gracefully managed the music festival that impeded our hearing and taxed her voice, and was very knowledgeable about the restaurants, culture, and overall "scene." Second, when they say "tasting" they really mean a good portion everywhere you go. It's a good thing its over 3 hours, cause you need the walking to work up an appetite for the next stop. Plus, I loved that you're learning more than just the restaurants; you also learn about the history of the neighborhoods, the architecture of the homes, and get to understand the vibe of the place.

I LOVED the Bucktown/Wicker Park food tour. Our tour guide (Sophie) was funny and articulate and gave a great balance of food, history, and architecture. I have been recommending this tour to everyone in Chicago! Worth the money, and the food was delicious. The drink from Hot Chocolate was to die for. The falafel from Sultan's was the best I've ever had. 10 out of 10. Thanks Chicago Food Planet!

Our tour was guided by Sofie and she did an amazing job! It was a really fun mix of tasty treats, local history and architectural tib-bits. We even had the owner of one of the beautiful, historical houses come out during the tour and talk about his home. What fun neighborhoods! Sultan's falafel was absolutely amazing and iCream made for the perfect ending to the tour. I would definitely go on the tour again and will look into the other tours offered!

This was a fun way to learn about a different part of Chicago. Colleen was terrific -- funny, engaging, and knowledgeable. Come hungry - the food selections were varied and portions plentiful, from a Chicago Dog to iced hot chocolate (wow) and falafel. The walking tour gave us a nice glimpse of life in Bucktown and Wicker Park.

We had heard about how great this was from a friend, and the tour (and Nicole, our guide) did not disappoint. Can't wait to find this kind of thing in other cities.

Food, Fun, Friends on the Chicago Food Tour

This was the most amazing and fun time ever! We thought we would enjoy the Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour, but it exceeded our expectations. There were 16 in our group, ranging in age from mid twenty to mid sixty; local residents and as far away as Washington, D.C. and Canada. There was something for everyone. Our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and engaging. If you are looking for an excursion that includes, food, new friends, history, and exercise, then by all means, this is the tour for you. We are looking forward to going again.

Great way to see Chicago
Sat, Jun 23, 12   11:30 AM JonaWay Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We loved the Chicago Food tour. What a great way to see a different part of Chicago, take in some great restaurants, learn some history and see some residential architecture. Our tour guide, Nicole, did a great job with our group, spending time talking to everyone in the group while leisurely strolling through the neighborhood. If you want to buy things you will have to allow more time to retrace your steps back to the shops as there is no shopping on the tour. the coupons were a nice extra touch! We spent most off the day, between the tour and the shopping! Great value and great culinary experience!

I recently read the reviews before taking my Near North tour. I was surprised to find that the reviews were very accurate. I had a great time and really enjoyed our guide, Jess. She did a great job and the food was fantastic. I even went back to several of the stops to make purchases.
