We Had A Great Time

Kent was an excellent tour guide. Unfortunately, we had to bug out early, as we needed to pick up my daughter earlier than expected. I'm sure we will be back again next year and hope to take this tour again. Thanks for the great time.

We had a really nice time. Our leader went out of his way to make sure everything went well for us in sitting in a restaurant, getting our food. he took us to some great places for food. I got a little bored with the architecure lesson but we couldn't go right from pizza and beer on to the next food. We did need to move around a little bit to get ready to eat again. We did learn alot about chicago history and architecture. The food choices were a lot of fun.

An enjoyable way to get a feel for the city. Visually pleasing since Chicago is such a clean and green place with beautiful flowers. The architure is varied and detailed. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and sincerely seem to enjoy herself as she lead us on our tour. It was an opportunity to enjoy different tastes.

Fun way to experience Chicago

This tour was an interesting and fun way to experience three Chicago neighborhoods. There was nice variety in the stops, food was great, and walking between stops was nice. Our tour guide was well informed, and did a great job of making the tour fun and interesting. I'd highly recommend the tour. My only criticism would be that the pizza on the last stop was too cheesy for us - but that's personal taste.

We had a mixed group of friends, but most of us had been to Chicago several times. We enjoyed the tour guide. She was very enthusiastic and seemed to like her job. We found several places that we never would have tried on our own, but we ended up going back to the stores and bought plenty of stuff to try at home. The only thing I would change is the number of people in the tour group. It was a little hard trying to cram all those people in the spaces and some strayed and kept the tour from being on schedule. The spots that the tour guide stopped us at to tell us something interesting could've been chosen a bit better - like in the shade!! It was a bit hot that day and standing in the sun wasn't conducive to listening and paying attention. Other than those 2 things, I would say I'd do it again.

We enjoyed our tour very much. Our guide was informative, energetic and charming. The food was great and we liked the emphasis on small businesses unique to Chicago.

Chicago Locals Need to Take this Tour!

I thought I'd find it a little odd touring neighborhoods i'd lived in for years, and actually, I did! It was odd that my old neighborhoods could seem so new and have so many surprises both in food and architecture. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to all locals and challenge those who think they "know their neighborhoods" to not find tons of new found knowledge and favorite spots to eat and shop in their hood. As for our guide, Caroline, she couldn't have been better...she gave the tour an extra douse of fun and really had a lot teach us about all the shops/restaurants and neighborhoods we traveled through. Can't wait to take the Bucktown tour...another neighborhood "i know well".

Had a great time

My husband and and another couple recently took the Near North Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour. Jessie, our tour guide, was so enthusiastic about Chicago and made the tour so much fun. When we come to Chicago we normally spend time shopping on Michigan Ave or going to the theater so this was unique and it was very interesting to see more of Chicago by walking through other neighborhoods and learning about some of the architecture and past history of each of them. The food was wonderful too and the shopkeepers were very hospitable and friendly. I can't wait to come back and visit some of the shops and spend lots of time enjoying the different areas that we probably would never have seen without the tour. My mouth is watering right now for the reuben sandwich from Askenaz Deli and the butter toffee from The Fudge Pot!

My daughter and I enjoyed everything about our tour. Jessie, our guide, was fun, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and did a great job keeping everyone together and on time. Each establishment was different, delicious and interesting. I will definitely be ordering from some of the businesses, particularly the Spice House and Tea Gschwendner. It was great fun walking through and learning about the neighborhoods. We would recommend this to anyone who is a foodie!

Our guide was fantastic. She was very informative, friendly and went out of her way to guide us. You can tell she really has a love of food and this isnt "just a job" for her. You are lucky to have her as a guide! We will do the Bucktown tour once we can afford it. Thanks!
