| Most of the tastings are available if you walk into the store alone, and most of them aren't specific to Chicago. So I think $40 is rather expensive for tastings of olive oil and cinnamon. If you like to go on a guided tour and be taken from store to store, rather than walk alone, then maybe this is for you | ||||||

A Great Way to Taste Your Way through Chicago!

| What a great concept and well executed as well. Nicky was a wonderful guide through the various neighbourhoods we visited. She demonstrated passion for the city and for the tour and all of the stops on it. For me, the tea and cheese store visits weren't the favourites but that's based on personal preference. The attention to detail was very positive. Bringing water at various stops, providing a few opportunities to sit, stopping at various points of interest during the longer walk periods were all appreciated. Well done! | ||||||

| We had a fun and informative tour which was a good introduction to some great neighborhoods. The specialty shops and restaurants were ones I'd not have discovered on my own. The group was friendly and the leader was interesting and knew a lot about food and also the points of interest as we walked along. I enjoyed the samples of foods, spices, tea, and other gourmet items. | ||||||

| This was an entertaining way to learn a lot of interesting facts about Chicago and to get a nice sampling of some of the food for which the city is famous. The walk was easy. The guide was fun to be with, thoughtful of her clients and full of helpful tips that made our weekend in the city even better than expected. The entrepreneurs who visualized this tour came up with a winner! | ||||||

| Excellent way to spend a few hours in Chicago. The venues were diverse. We learned about the history and architecture of north side neighborhoods. Our guide Jennifer was first rate. My son and I found the tour better than expected. | ||||||

| Strongly recommend this tour if you are in Chicago for more than a few days. It gives you a great overview of the food and local specialities. They put a bit too much empathsis on the high cost food providers in the area, but it was well worth $40.00 tour fee. Lots of walking. | ||||||

Rain or Shine!

| When they say the tour goes rain or shine, they aren't kidding. We did our tour during the rain from Gustav and it rained the entire day but it wasn't cold. There is plenty of walking but the stops are terrific and Emily was a great guide who knew a lot about the areas we walked through as well as the stops we made. I particularly enjoyed the Spice Market and Tom, the owner, who gave a great presentation on various cinnamons. The tea shop and oil store were also favorites of mine and I went retraced my steps (still in the rain) to make some purchases. I highly recommend the tour for some great shops and some interesting history of Chicago. | ||||||

| My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. The locations of the eateries and quality of food were superb. However, the tour ran an hour over of the scheduled time and we had to run out at the end to make prior plans. We highly recommend but be prepared to stay longer then the agenda states. | ||||||

Fun taste of Chicago in local businesses

| This tour was a great way to hit several birds with one stone: try out Chicago foods, visit several residential neighborhoods and support local businesses. There was a lot of walking but the best treat was the pizza and the chocolate at the end. Our tour guide (12 noon tour, 8/31) was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. | ||||||

| Great tour guide and tour. Enjoyed the history and culture of the city as much as the food. Only disappointment was that it was promoted as more local ethnic eateries but 3 of the stops were for chocolate and others were specialty shops that were not based on any old neighborhood history. Still all was good. Many amazing food and tastes that we will long remember. | ||||||

| Tour was okay - lot of walking (thank goodness it was not a hot day), Jewish deli potato pancake good (may be pastrami sampler - 1/4 of sandwich - would be better and those who do not want pastrami or corned beef can have the potato pancake) cheese and crackers good (not much time to shop), stuffed pizza delicious, oil & vinegar tasting ok, spice store interesting again, not much time to shop. Chocolate candy stores (2) nice but to be honest, thought I would be sampling food (naturally, in small amounts). Tour guide was very nice, spoke well, and knew the history of the neighborhoods. Thank you. | ||||||

Worth doing - wear comfortable shoes

| We had a 1230 tour. If you eat breakfast like they tell you to on the confirmation printout - you'll be fine. The food you taste throughtout the tour is enough to keep you quiet if you have a normal appetite. Some unique/ items to taste - its a fun time for sure. You must must must wear comfortable shoes - the tour is advertised as 3 hours long - ours went 4 hours. What is not obvious is that if you plan to do any walking after this tour - you might not be upto doing much of it in the latter part of the day (and especially the next day) so plan your trip accordingly - keep things relatively light for your day b4/after the tour (or be doing something super fun where you wont notice how tired your legs are). Keeping this in mind - highly recommended. | ||||||

| This is the second time I attended the tour as a work outing. Everyone loved it - including one of my employees who was bit by a dog as we were walking. BTW, the dog's owner gave us bogus info so there was no recourse with the police. Thankfully, the victim wasn't injured badly and is on the mend. I would recommend getting a driver's license from the pet owner should it happen again (God forbid). Thanks for a great day out! | ||||||
