Fun tour, delicious food, lots to learn. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide was great. Full of great information that I had not heard before (grew up in the burbs but live away from Chicago now). She was enthusiastic and full of knowledge. I loved the restaurants and places the tour took us. Chicago has so many neighborhoods to explore and it was great to be taken around 2 of them and be shown some great unique places and taste them too!

Loved the food mixed in with the history of the area. All the places were different and interesting there own way. Enjoyed the background of each place as well as the places pointed out during the walk. Our guide was enthusiastic likable and knowledgeable. Great way to see the neighborhoods.

So I did the Near North Tour with this company two summers ago and loved it and I knew that whenever I made a return trip to Chicago that I wanted to do the Bucktown tour. This tour was even better that the first one! The tasting were really substantial and filling! Not to mention absolutely delicious! Loved a true Chicago style hot dog, but the biggest tasty surprise was the best falafel I have ever had in my life! As for my favourite though? Even though the icream was super cool and sweet the Hot Chocolate with the homemade marshmellow was to die for!!! I know I have to do their third tour the next time I visit however I will be returning on my own with my husband next time to revisit all of those sights. The tour guide was awesome, Kent, so knowledgeable, a local as well as fellow foodie, just loved his personality! Loved that I was not the only Canadian taking the tour as well on this particular day. If you are thinking about it, do it- worth every penny! Deanna from Leamington, Ontario

My boyfriend and I had the best time on our tour of Bucktown/Wicker Park. We are frequent visitors to Chicago, and we learned so many new things about the city from our AWESOME guide, Kent. The tastings, history on the area and architecture were all outstanding. We can't wait to try the other tours next time we head up north. If your'e on the fence about taking a tour, do it! You won't regret it :)

Loved the food selection. Kent, our tour guide, was great. He covered architecture, history, and of course the food. We would not have visited the area as first time tourists in Chicago. There were quite a few locals (chicago and vicinity) on the tour too. Not sure how much children would like it but would definitely recommend for adults.

Even as a local, I learned so much from this tour. And the food was delicious! Definitely enough for lunch (and then some!)

Nicole was excellent! She was knowledgeable, witty, friendly and easy to like! Our group was family and even though part of the family lives in Chicago, we all enjoyed the tour and tastings alike! My mom and my sister stated that had they not taken the tour, they never would have ever thought to go into the likes of the oil store or the spice store. I myself have now come to appreciate tea to a much greater degree...we went back to several of the stops and bought oil, tea and spices and will be eating at Lou's as soon as we get back to Chicago (even though half of our group had eaten at Lou's in the past, we learned additional info about the history of the company and the making of the pizza - Good Job!) A nice way to spend part of the day - our weather was a bit colder than we had hoped but really, you're going into warm places so it was just fine! Please enjoy this experience - you won't be disappointed!

I never fill out these reviews but I had such a great time I felt like I should. Our tour guide was Carrie and she did a wonderful job!!! We walked through both neighborhoods and she shared with us so much history and architectural details.We stopped at six different locations and sampled food and drink and it was all delicious!!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and so did my friend. I would highly recommend this tour for locals and tourists alike!!!!

My husband and I are foodies and we love architecture. This tour combined marvellously both aspects. Our guide (Carrie) was speaking clearly (we are French speaking from Quebec City). She had very interesting knowledge in architecture and was able to pass it on nicely to us. The length of the tour was perfect (3 h). The choice of restaurants reflected the diversity of Bucktown and Wicker Park. The information on each restaurant or store was relevant and interesting. It was nice to learn the name's chefs (the are creators aren't they), what brought them to this area and what they are recognized for in the city of Chicago or around the world. The samples we had were very good, fresh and just the right amount. More would have been "too much". Two years ago, we participate in a similar tour in Portland (Maine) and even if we liked it, my preference goes without any hesitation to your tour. In a few months, we have friends going to Chicago and we will reference it with much enthusiasm.

Very well organized and planned. Hard to choose a favorite food. Kent gave us an info-packed yet somewhat wry overview of the neighborhood and its history

We had a delightful time on the Near North Food Tasting tour. This was my second time taking this tour, and I highly recommend it. Our guide, Kent, was very knowledgeable and amusing. He led us around the neighborhoods, describing interesting tidbits along the way. The food stops were delicious, and Kent had a little bit of history at each one. He knows his stuff!

I really loved the entire thing. I liked seeing the different archetectures and eating the delicious food! Our tour guide was wonderful and very fun! Luckily we have the perfect weather! :)

This is my 2nd trip/outing with Chicago Food Planet and they never disappoint! Our guide Martha was wonderful; very knowledgeable and personable. The restaurants were all wonderful and service spectacular (they were always ready for us when we got there). I can't wait to come back again next year and try another tour!
