It was an excellent way to learn about establishments, local favorites, and amazing architecture. My friends and I were stuck in a traffic mess running a few minutes behind....and we received a phone call, letting us know our group was waiting for us. That was a big "above and beyond" experience. I was impressed. There were four of us that came together with a wonderful group of people and excellent guide. Everyone enjoyed themselves. Tried a variety of new foods........had a very informative walk. Learned and ate quite a bit. I recommend it to locals as well as visitors. Within our group there were quite a few people visiting from different areas, and they had a lot of questions on where to go.....restaurants and otherwise. By the time the tour was over all their questions were answered and the had an itinerary:) Highly Recommended.!!!!!

Great Tour

This tour was even better than anticipated. Our guide was personable, fun and very knowledgeable. The presentations were full of interesting facts and the food tastings at each place were delicious, more than adequate and made our entire group want to visit again to dine and/or shop. We also enjoyed the unexpected bonus of the architectural and historical information provided as we walked through several different neighborhoods. It was a great way to spend a day in the city with friends.

Chicago Locals Need to Take this Tour!

I thought I'd find it a little odd touring neighborhoods i'd lived in for years, and actually, I did! It was odd that my old neighborhoods could seem so new and have so many surprises both in food and architecture. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to all locals and challenge those who think they "know their neighborhoods" to not find tons of new found knowledge and favorite spots to eat and shop in their hood. As for our guide, Caroline, she couldn't have been better...she gave the tour an extra douse of fun and really had a lot teach us about all the shops/restaurants and neighborhoods we traveled through. Can't wait to take the Bucktown tour...another neighborhood "i know well".

If you love to try new restaurants and learn about old neighborhoods, this tour is for you. We went to a few new young hip places to eat and a few that have been around for some time. If I had to pick a favorite, I think it would have to be I-Cream. Very innovative and very fun! Even though I live in the suburbs, I will come back for I-cream! We had all ages in our group and it was very fun!

This was a great tour. Loved the food venues chosen, the walking tour of the neighborhood was great seeing the changes that have taken place. Our tour guide did a super job - was very informative, nice persoanlity, and kept everybody on track. Went on both tours of Food Planet and would love to go on more in the different neihborhoods around the City. Hope you can come up with more for next year. Keep up the great work!

I loved the info on the neighborhood and its history. I liked learning about the "famous" chefs we have (I live in Bucktown). Food was great although a little too much for me. I should have eaten half the hot dog! A little shopping mixed into the tour would be nice too but overall, it was terrific and I'd recommend it to others.

Thumbs Way Up for the Food Tour

I attended the Near North Food Tour with a 5 member work group. Another group in our department had previously taken the tour and were very impressed. I've lived in Chicago most of my life and thought that I knew a lot about the various neighborhoods we visited but, I was wrong. Our tour guide, Jennifer was fun, enthusiastic, and very knowledgeable about Chicago history and architecture. We enjoyed every stop on the tour....it's hard to decide which was the favorite....the chocolate shop, oil shop, spice emporium or the delicious pizza. I would recommend this to any food lover who would enjoy a leisurely stroll in a beautiful city with a lively, informative tour guide. Thank you!

My friends and I all loved learning about the two neighborhoods Wicker Park and Bucktown. None of us knew anything about either one. Our guide Kyle was very informative and kept us entertained the entire 3 hours. And the food...WOW...come hungry. Everything was delicious.

The tour was interesting, the guide was knowledgeable and the food and drink was delicious. I visited places I normally wouldn't frequent and learned more about spices, oils and teas that I didn't know before. The pizza was wonderful. The walking was fine and it was fun to go by famous places and learn more about them.

We found that our tour guide was quite knowledgeable about the area and vendors, very energetic, informative and just delightful to spend the afternoon with. The choices of restaurants was wonderful as all of the tastings were delicious. I believe I speak for everyone in our group when I say we would highly recommend other friends take this tour.
