WONDERFUL!

Just wanted to thank our lovely and articulate tour leader, Hilary for doing such an excellent job and making our first food tour an experience to remember! The route was so well thought out, the food tastings were so generous and coupling the history and architecture of Chicago into our tour was such a bonus! Many thanks for making our reservations easy -- I spoke to a gentleman from Zerve the night before our arrival and he was so kind and thoughtful when answering my questions. Thanks to everyone in the organization -- We'll see you next year for the Chinatown food tour -- you can count on our repeat business! Thanks Hilary! You are a gem!

The Best Three Hours You Can Spend

Hillary was our guide. She was informative, lighthearted, knowledgeable and pleasing to be with. She really seemed to like what she was doing, not trying to be funny or condescending, etc. I really liked the stops they have chosen, a nice cross section of Chicago boutique foods and components. I was surprised to not see a "Chicago Dog" on the trip, but that was the only thing that seemed to be missing. I will come back and take the Chinatown and River Architecture tours on the next trip.

I'd heard that the walking tour in Old Town was fun, but I had a fantastic time just tasting generous portions of food, drinking tea, smelling the spices and tasting the olive oils and vinegars. Kent made our tour interesting by explaining little known facts about Chicago and Old Town--entertaining us for the whole three hours, which went very quickly. It made me want to try other Chicago food tours! Many thanks to Kent and all the wonderful vendors I met along the way, who were generous with their time and expertise--I enjoyed shopping in your stores and will definitely be back for more.

Great tour but........

It is a great tour. You will enjoy delicious food and learn more about the history of the city. However, here are two things that are not too great about the tour. 1) You ended up eating or drinking in seven different places and after a while you will probably get an upset stomach (specially for trying the olive oil and vinegar) 2) I would personally add some wine testing to the tour instead of having tea

My daughter and son-in-law were visiting from out of state and in celebration of his birthday I signed us up for the tour. What a great time we had! Our tour guide, Keri (? sp.) was the best guide I have ever had on a tour. You could tell she loved her job and loved the area. She almost made one want to move there. We enjoyed all the different tastes we had and went back to one of them to make a purchase. A real, unexpected highlight of the tour was the history and architecture of the area. I will definitely take the same tour again with different people and highly recommend it to everyone.

This is the 2nd Food Planet tour that I've done. I enjoyed the Bucktown/ Wicker Park one because it was a new part of town for me. This tour was remarkable because this is a part of town that I go to frequently and yet I learned about some new places. Loved the pastrami Rueben at Ashkanez! Alia was informative and entertaining.

My mother and I went to Chicago for a girls getaway and decided to try something different. We chose the Wicker Park/BuckTown Tour because we had never seen that part of Chicago. The tour guide, Kent, was very knowledgeable, friendly and kept the tour moving at a good pace. The food was good and information about the history of the area was educational. The homemade marshmallows from Hot Chocolate were awesome! Next time we go to Chicago, we are going to try another food tour in the North Shore area. I definitely would recommend this tour to others!

In a group of 5 of us, ages ranging from 24 to 50, a great time was had by all. It was a beautiful fall day to meander thru several quaint neighborhoods of Chicago. Each stop we made was unique and interesting. We went back to 4 of the shops and purchased foods we sampled. Our tour guide was easy to listen too and kept our attention easily. We would all recommend this tour to anyone. The next time e are in Chicago we will go on the Chinatown tour.

My friends were coming into town with their teenagers and we were trying to find something to do that would work for a 9, 13, 14 and 16 year old. We decided the walking tour (Near North tour) could be interesting for all and better yet it had food for the teenage boys. We really enjoyed it and would definitely do it again. The food was great, the history information interesting and our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun (most important factor when dealing with kids). Looking forward to trying some of the other tours. We all agreed well worth the money and time, a tour not only for vistors but locals. Quote from my 9 year old daughter Cora "That was cool; I want to do that again."
