My group of four women vacationing in Chicago had a fabulous time on the Food Planet Tour of the Gold Coast, Old Town, and Lincoln Park. Despite the rain which accompanied the entire tour, this experience was fun, upbeat, entertaining, and enlightening. I cannot say enough about our fantastic guide, Arianna, a very knowledgeable young lady who made this outing the wonderful time it was. Our group enjoyed stops at seven establishments for food, beverages, and astonishingly great information about food, architecture, culture, and the history of Chicago. Kudos to Arianna and Food Planet and thank you for this unique taste of the Windy City!

It rained during most of the tour, and all 17 of us had umbrellas! Didn't detract from the tour at all. Beautiful neighborhoods, interesting history and fun tastings, maybe could have been made a couple more stops?? Or allow 5 more minutes for shopping, especially for out-of-towners?

Our tour guide, Jennifer I believe, was very informative. She know alot about the area and what we were eating. The oil shop, spice shop and tea shop were more informative then they were filling, but still there was PLENTY of food on the tour. And it was great to have learned something. Before I booked, I read the reviews, and several had said they didn't get enough to eat. I don't know what they were doing. I can't remember a shop that seconds or thirds weren't offered. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. My husband is a big guy with a matching stomach and he couldn't finish all his food. I was also a little leary about the price, just like everyone now a days, we're on a budget. But between the food, the inforamtion and just getting to explore areas tourists don't normaly get to go, it was well worth the money.

My wife and I were in Chicago for a few days of fun. The tour was great from every aspect. We had an enthusiastic and very knowledgable guide who took us to some great food spots and helped us learn about three Chicago neighborhoods. My wife is a great cook and as a food-lover she loved the spice shop and the oil shop. The samples at the candy store were great and the concluding pizza stop was excellent. We now have a new favorite pizza place in Chicago. We went back to Old Town twice later in the week for meals and shopping. My wife says, "Our guide was very informative and lots of fun and we found some great stores and great places to eat".

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Even the points of interest we stopped at in between stops were interesting. Kudos to our tour guide, Nikki, who made our day fun and interesting.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food and walking tour of the Near North, Gold Coast, and Lincoln Park neighborhoods! Our guide, Nicki, was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun! She helped to make the whole experience a very memorable one. All the restaurants and shops we visited were unique and had great food/products. I plan to do the Wicker Park/Bucktown walking tour in the future. I went on the tour with a friend and my daughter(she is 26) and we all would highly recommend this activity, to tourists and Chicago residents alike!

There was only three people in our group with our tour guide Jen. She was engaging, knowledgeable, and awesome. She customized our tour and adapted to the many questions we had. We went from 11:00-2:45 and the time flew by. Very cool tour and it is highly recommended if you don't have a lot of time or if you are just entering Chicago. Thanks Jen!

I would definitely recommend this for locals and tourists alike. You get to try some great good from places you've probably never been and there's some local history and architecture built in. I will definitely be taking future groups of visitors on this trip, it was so fun!

GREAT GIFT IDEA

I got a call from my cousin that his girlfriend surprised him with a trip to Chicago. I had been unable to go out for his birthday in Minneapolis, so I thought I'd surprise them with a food tour. I searched the web and the Near North Tour looked highly credible. I bought their tickets and told them where to go and when. They absolutely loved it, thought that they got to see a side of the city that they never would have seen otherwise. They said that there was a lot of walking, but that it was enjoyable in the Spring. They particularly liked the Olive Oil stop and the Pizza at Bocino's. I would highly recommend this as a gift for someone travelling to Chicago. I lived there for four years in college and I know the great food Chicago has to offer. I was happy to be able to share that with my cousin by buying them these tickets.

We are legally blind from Michigan. We decided that this would be a fun tour for the two of us and it was! Our tour guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable about the area and just plain fun. We learned the history of the area while eating our way through three plus hours. The tour description was accurate about there being plenty to eat . The restaurant and grocery/deli choices were varied. We met owners and learned how they started their businesses. We were taken on a walk through quiet streets where a brief lesson on architectural design was given. The houses were beautiful. We walked in Wicker Park.. We highly recommend this tour for adults. If you hesitate because it is a walking tour...don't...we did it without a problem.
