We chose this tour because we wanted to take our baby and this walking tour welcomed a stroller. The tour was fantastic. Not only did we sample some wonderful food, but we also learned some great history about the city of Chicago. We highly recommend this tour!

My friend and I signed up for this tour as something different to do while our husbands enjoyed a Cub/Cardinal ballgame. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk, food, and had fun getting to know the other people taking the tour. The tour leader was personable, interesting, and had a good sense of humor. It was fun to walk through the various neighborhoods and I feel comfortable to return to some of the stops for lunch or shopping in the future. I hope that the tours expand to more neighborhoods......Chinatown, Little Italy, etc. My friend and I would definitely do another tour with this company.

Overall, if you want a chance to explore neighborhoods of Chicago, the food tour is the way to go. The introduction to areas of Chicago not included in most tourist maps is what makes this food tour special. The food's variety and quality were excellent, and really gave you a feel for the history and feel for the local scene and culture. One minor recommendation: I would have prefered if the pizza included on the tour was authentic Chicago deep dish pizza. While the pizza we had was very good, it was something I could have gotten from home. Many friends of mine from Chicago told me if I visited that I should have deep dish pizza, and so this was something I expected from the tour.

Good but not great

My husband and I had been on the Food and Cultural tour in NYC for Greenwhich Village. It was outstanding! We were a little dissapointed with this one. First we thought a bottle of water should have been given at the beginning. I don't think it was appropriate for the tour guide to mention gratuities at the start of the tour. If you want to mention it on the ticket or website fine. Our guide in NYC never mentioned it and everyone knew what to do. It comes off classier. Their weren't many tastings. And while I appreciated the uniqueness of the places nothing was too outstanding.

Overall, the tour was great. We learned a lot about the neighborhoods as well as different types of food and drink. Great day and lots of walking. The only recommendation I would have is to bring a bottle of water with you. Thanks for the great day!

I really enjoyed our tour. I have already been on many tours of Chicago but I learned even more - our guide was very informative. I enjoyed walking through the different parts of the city and seeing many of the neighborhoods and restaurants that I have read about or seen in the local news. I was not left hungry - there was plenty of food and it was all delicious! I did think that we would be having more " Chicago reknown" foods such as deep dish pizza , a Chicago style hot dog, frango and Elis - but it was not missed. It is a great tour for natives who may want to learn the city better.

A Fun Outing

The enthusiam, sense of humor and energy level of the tour guide was 80% of the tour. We had a great time. The fact that we walked quite a distance was offset by the fact that there would be FOOD at the next stop! Each stop was an adventure. Our guide kept everyone on their toes by his interactive repartee. The description of the tour stated that we would be walking 3 miles and need to find our own transport back. We had arranged a car from the hotel to meet us in Old Town after we stopped for a drink, but another couple planned on walking back, they were already dead-tired and were afraid of getting lost.

A friend had reccomended this tour to us as a great way to get a real "taste" of Chicago. Our guide, Shane, was super from the start! He took us to several different restaurants, each with thier own great tasting food! He also pointed out intersting sights along the way that "non-residents" would not know about. This tour is a great way to get "out and about" in Chicago in a way that is fun and tasteful. The tour also allows you a chance to see more of Chicago than just the regular tourist sights. I would take this tour again the next time I visit Chicago and will reccomend this tour to ANYONE who is going to be visiting Chicago in the near future.

Many people have written that they'd take this tour again. It was so awesome, that I actually did! My boss took those of us who report to her on this tour a month ago for our annual team outing. When I told my team about it back at the office thinking we might try it as next year's outing, the vote was unanimous to cancel our other plans in favor of this. Nobody was disappointed. Shane, the tour guide, is fun and makes everyone in the group comfortable. The tour travels through interesting and beautiful neighborhoods that make you want to go back and see more. The food was wonderful, and the proprietors of the establishments were welcoming, many of them giving us a little education session on their products. At the same time there was no push to purchase, since this quick-moving tour leaves little time for browsing. We all learned something new about the city, its neighborhoods and culinary tidbits as well. This event is a must do for tourists and locals alike. Do yourself a favor and don't miss it!

My husband and I took this Chicago Food Tour in September and we had a wonderful time! Our tour guide was entertaining and informative, giving us a great insight on the food we tasted. The food was fantastic and it was a nice variety. No guilt about the food your eating, because you get your exercise walking. We will recommend this tour to our friends and family!
