We had such a great time on the Near North tour with Hillary with two "ll's" that we were disapointed when she didn't crash the wedding we were in Chicago to attend. The crowd would have loved to see her swing dance I am sure but no worries we bragged on the tour all evening long and said it was a must do while in town!! From the time we got there, a little bit late but no problem, we jumped right in with awesome pastrami sandwiches at Ashkenaz! I think my favorite was The Fudge Pot and the amazing toffee- but I have to say the spinach stuffed pizza was so good even my boyfriend who never eats a leafy green vegetable, really I mean never, was telling people they had to go to Bacino's and try it!! Thanks Chicago Food Planet and of course Hillary- we had a great time listening to all the stories, walk through great neighborghoods and really getting a glimpse at a different side of Chicago :-) |

Our guide, Jess was terrific, enthusiastic, very knowledgeable about the products, the local history and architecture. The original brochure was attractive and caught my interest. The paperwork given us during the tour is very helpful, enabling us to return to the shops on our own time, mapping out the area and giving us local transportation options and area restaurants. Special food requirements were accommodated. Keep up the good work. If I had more time I would have taken the other 2 tours, Bucktown and Chinatown. I will recommend the Chicago Food Planet to friends. |

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to find a bit more out about Chicago and have some delicious food while they are at it. There was plenty of food as well which was nice. Money well spent! |

The food stops were OK, but I wonder if the hot chocolate stop wasn't just to promote the restaurant. The stop at Piece wasn't great - the pizza was ordinary and as non drinkers, the beer was a waste of time. Surely there's a better family pizza place that would be more typical?
We did the Greenwich Village tour earlier this year and the food stops were better with more "local" food.
Our guide however, was great. Good energy, very knowledgable and very personable. |

The tour was lots of fun and a nice way to see some local venues and get some education about the area at the same time. Our guide was great and very informative. The olive oil/vinegar spot was my favorite, as was the spice store. Nice amount of walking with nice commentary along the way. |

My husband and I, along with our son, who is a student at DePaul in Chicago, had the opportunity to experience the Chinatown food tour this week. I had somehow thought the time for our tour was 11:30 when it was actually scheduled for 10:30. THANK GOODNESS they had scheduled a second tour that day that was scheduled for 11:30!! Our guides were so gracious in accommodating us on the 11:30 tour and we were so glad they did. I have enjoyed "American" Chinese food but it was so interesting and fun to experience authentic Chinese food, and delicious, too. Our guides were so informative and fun and we learned so much!! This was the fourth time we have gone on the tasting tours and its hard for me to say which one was my favorite because they have all been great, but my husband said that this one was his favorite. A surprise on this tour was seeing a Buddist temple- The whole tour was so enjoyable and I'm looking forward to returning to Chinatown and trying some other things at the restaurants we visited. The list of other great places to eat is intriguing, too. If you enjoy experiencing new tastes and would like to learn more about the Chinese culture and history, this is something you won't want to miss. |

I loved it!! My cousin was visiting from Boston and so my boyfriend, roommate, and I took her on a weekend of touristy stuff. The food tour beats it all, and that includes the architectural boat tour. The neighborhoods youll walk through are stunning, and the food stops are well-selected. Alia was our guide, and is full of energy. I recommend this tour to everybody! |

The girl (Alia) I think her name was - she was excellent and kept us all interested. The food tasting was really good as well. We also enjoyed the informative walk and seeing a lovely part of Chicago we would never have found ourselves. I would recommend it! |

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. If you are new to Chicago, like we were, it shows you an area you would not venture off to on your own. The residential areas are spectacular and all the little businesses we toured were awesome. On the Near North Food Tour we ended up just a short walking distance from the Lincoln Park Zoo which has free admission and is well worth the stop. We then took a taxi back to Michigan Ave. to our hotel for a very reasonable price. Heather was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable of the shops, their products and the area. She was a very friendly and fun tour guide. |

I enjoyed my North food tasting but most of it was due to my group and the tour guide Heather. She kept things very interesting and was funny and related to everyone on the tour. I had taken the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour last year and the food was much better on that tour. A bigger variety. I learned a lot about each area on each tour but was just disappointed with the food choices on this tour. |

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our Chinatown tour. We learned a lot about the area, the culture and the food. It was a beautiful day and we had a very personal tour because it was just the 2 of us with our guide Hilary! This was my third Food Planet tour and I highly recommend these tours to anyone who enjoys food and wants to get an insight into the neighborhoods that are not part of the normal tourist areas. |
